Cheap Sunpentown SD-350TI Mini Dehumidifier with UV Light and TiO2

I bought two mini dehumidifier at once, this one and the Eva-dry EDV-1100 Electric Petite Dehumidifier. Hands down, the Eva-dry out performs this! They are about 7' apart, but yet the Eva dry can pull out about 8oz of water every 3 days, compared to the 2 tblsp or so this device does.
However, this device is much quieter than the Eva-dry.
As for the UV light, is it really necessary? Better yet...does it really even work? I wouldnt know....
Shipping was prompt from the company.
The only positive thing I found is the UV light, that seemed to have an effect on the air quality.

This dehumidifier would not pull moister from a small bathroom after a shower. Wast of money.Best Deals for Sunpentown SD-350TI Mini Dehumidifier with UV Light and TiO2
I brought this dehumidifier for my bathroom. It only collected about a table spoon full of water after two days of continuous running. The excessive amount of sweat on the plumbing and the toilet talk tells me that there is enough moisture in the air for it to collect. I regret my purchase and will not recomment it to anyone. The only positive thing I found is the UV light, that seemed to have an effect on the air quality.

It is so humid in my house at times that my clothes and pillows are constantly damp. I put the dehumidifier next to my bed in the evenings and it seems to help a little with the moisture but not to the extend that it advertises. I still highly recommend the product, especially for people with allergies! The air was MUCH fresher after going through this little machine and I could breathe much easier.Monday, January 19, 2015

I have a Sears air cleaner that this is advertised as a replacement prefilter for. In my opinion it is thicker and fits as well or even better than the original. Overall I think it is better than the original shipped with the product.

Review of Sungold Ultrasonic Ionizer Humidifier
We purchased this one because our neighbors recommended it. Living in Denver we don't have a lot of humidity. I love that this one does not only have the ionizer but you can also control the level of steam and humidity output. It is super quiet and with the large opening of the tank fairly easy to clean.
I just wish they also made a smaller version. Our Son had a stuffy nose when he was born and the doctor recommended a Humidifier to help him. After sifting through hundreds of types of Humidifiers, we chose this one. And it has paid off, almost over night, the humidifier filled the room with great moisture in the air, as well as the Ionizer purifying the air that he was breathing. The adjustable knobs are pretty self explanatory but be careful you don't put too much moisture. I found out when I stepped onto the wood flooring and the condensation had covered a good bit of the floor (slippery). Easy to refill with water, but as with any humidifier you have to keep the bottom clean, will get dirty in a couple of days of constant use. Recommend a toothbrush or bottom of a bottle brush to clean around the connection between the blue plastic and the white bottom.

Cheap CigarExtras Crystal Clear Gel Humidifiers for Cigar Humidors
I have 2 of the round humifier items but I am only currently using 1 in my humidor. The humidifier arrived with the crystals dry and ready to be moistened. The package contained instructions to fill the puck with a recommended PG solution or just plain distilled water. I used pure distilled water and let the crystals absorb. Minutes later it was ready to be used in my humidor. I use a calibrated Madelaine Hygrometer/Thermometer that is accurately calibrated and the humidifier brought my humidor to the mid 70% RH range. I opened the humidor to let it air out for a little while and now it is maintaining 69-71% RH. I would suggest letting the crystals absorb the PG/Distilled water then let it relax out in the open a bit, then place it in the humidor. I bought the 100 cigar humidifier for my upgrade humidor that I plan to purchase in the near future. I just hope that I have as good luck with that as I did the 50.
These little boxes are filled with little sponge like crystals which are small and hard when dry, but when you soak them in solution or distilled water for 10 15 minutes they increase in size as they soak up the fluid. then as they evaporate over time providing humidity to your cigars they shrink again and so on and so on. The problem is that the manufacturer overfilled all of these. If you soak them for a few minutes, they will entirely fill all the open space in the housing. They continue growing slightly more over the next few hours. If they put too many of these crystals in one of these containers they will grow to the point where they pop off the slotted lid and all of mine did scattering these hundreds of little wet crystals all over my cigars.
Here is the solution, but do it BEFORE ever putting them in your humidor.
1. Use a thin knife to remove the slotted lid. Around the edge you will find a thin groove which is slightly wider is spots. Firmly hold down the cup on a table so it doesn't move and very carefully pop off the lid by inserting the knife point into the wider gaps and prying slightly until the lid lifts. Inside are what looks like not enough crystals. Be patient.
2. Fill the cup with it's crystals to the very top with distilled water and let it sit for an hour to allow all the crystals to grow to their maximum size. Fill it with more water as necessary to make sure the crystals grow to their maximum size.
3. You will likely see that the wet and enlarged crystals now protrude above the edge of the cup like container. That means they would have eventually popped off the lid. Take a gently curved straight edge like a butter knife and scrape off the excess crystals into a bowl so that the level of crystals that are left is all slightly below the edge of the cup. You now have the humidfier filled to the proper level.
4. Carefully replace the lid. You will notice that around the flat lid with the slots there are very slight ridges in places on the edge. You will also notice that around the inside of the cup there are matching slight indentations. You have to line these up and firmly press the edges down working around the outside until all of the lid is down flush with the edge of the cup. This is what the factory should have done but didn't.
Now use your humidifiers per instructions and you will find that they work great!
I also recommend this electronic hygrometer, which you can stick to the end of the humidifier, facing the glass top of the humidor for quick readings without opening the box. It's extremely accurate after calibration and the battery lasts forever. The glass analog hygrometer that comes with these and many other humidors are more ornamental than accurate.

These are a GREAT idea improperly manufactured. Out of the box each one I purchased exploded inside the humidor leaving the damp little sponge like crystals all over the top level of my cigars soaking and staining them horribly. When I received the product, I added distilled water, when I returned later to put the humidifier in the humidor that gel had expanded (more like expoded) to the point it popped the lid off and gel was everywhere!!!! Do NOT recommend this product. Cheaply made!Honest reviews on CigarExtras Crystal Clear Gel Humidifiers for Cigar Humidors
I needed this gel humidifier because I have dry heat in my home so during the winter months, nothing else would keep my humidor above 70%. Be sure and fill with distilled water to starting with 50% full to expand the crystals. Wait about 15 minutes and the crystals will expand to the size of the rectangle container. When you refill, never go over 75% water level or the crystals will pop the cover off, which is what happened to another reviewer. It's never happened to me because I never fill it up past 75% full and this humidifier keeps this humidor (highly recommended) at 72-78% humidity for a month without looking at it, when full of cigars.I also recommend this electronic hygrometer, which you can stick to the end of the humidifier, facing the glass top of the humidor for quick readings without opening the box. It's extremely accurate after calibration and the battery lasts forever. The glass analog hygrometer that comes with these and many other humidors are more ornamental than accurate.

I purchased this humidifier 4 weeks ago. I run it 24 hours a day. I go through a gallon of water in 1.5 2 days. Sometimes I run it on high and sometimes on low, thus the water consumption varies. I keep it on the floor right next to my bed. The sound does not bother me although I will write that when I set it on high I have to raise the volume on my TV. I use only distilled water for the humidifier. I have nothing but good things to write about this humidifier. It is the best humidifier I have ever owned. It does not deposit any water at all on the floor or the surrounding area. It is supposed to cover an area of 600 square feet. My condo is 1000 square feet and every single window reflects humidity, so I know it humidifies the entire 1000 square feet. I run it day and night to assist with a respiratory issue and it has helped me tremendously. It has filters that are affordable. This is a must have product for everyone. I use to wake up several times a night with dry mouth. No problem immediately since using the humidifier. Thank you for the speedy delivery. Your price was $20.00 less than all the other sites and stores shopped at.

Cheap 20x25x5 MERV 10 Honeywell Grill Filter (2 Pack)
I had been buying the same filters from my AC guy, but found them on Amazon for half the price. For all I know, he gets his there too.
They seem to work really well. It's a bit difficult to quantitatively judge just how well they do without specialized equipment, but my wife says that she gets very little dirt when she dusts. They may seem high priced, but if a person changes say, a Filtrete 1-inch filter, once a month then the total cost would be more than using the 4-inch ones, which last a year under normal use. Plus, you only have the hassle of changing them once a year instead of once a month.
They don't look particularly well-made, but they're strong enough to get the job done.I've never had any problems with these filters until recently. I bought two of them in early December and within the month, both seemed to be having extreme difficulty letting air flow through even though there was no visible dust build-up on the filters. I just noticed that my heater/ac was much louder and running more often and when I checked the filters, there was extreme pressure pulling on them. $80+ on filters in one month is outrageous. Went back to a $20 Filtrete and will see how that does. Seems to be much better for now. Will probably never buy these again.

Sunbeam Ultrasonic Visible Mist Humidifier Reviews
I mostly concur with all the points made by the brimar's review. If you know what to expect from an ultrasonic humidifier, this one does the job adequately. However, to add or highlight a few points:
-if you set the unit on high, it will easily put out more vapor than it can disperse into the air, which will result in soaking the surfaces in front of the humidifier (not a problem unique to this humidifier).
-it lacks a humidistat. (That's a dial like a thermostat that automatically turns off the mist output when the desired level of humidity is reached.) You can find other humidifiers in this same price range that include this feature.
-the tank is very tall, and you fill it from the bottom, so don't be surprised if you end up having to fill it in your bathtub. (This is also a problem many current humidifier models suffer from. Most have awkwardly shaped tanks that either don't fit under a typical bathroom sink tap and/or don't balance when turned upside down.)
In summary, this unit has some of the same flaws seen in many current humidifiers, making it average.
Pros:
-Large enough tank so you don't have to refill often, once every couple days if you run it for 3-5 hours in the evening
-Very quiet, can't hear the fan but you can hear the bubbler (ultrasonic metal disk in the bottom)
-Doesn't require filter
Cons:
-If the water runs out, the ultrasonic disk will get VERY hot (trust me, I touched it) and mine didn't shut off automatically -Now it only puts out half as much vapor
-Blower isn't large enough, the bubbler puts more vapor than the fan can blow, so the water vapor will get your floor soaked if you turn it on high
-approximately $40, too much. should cost about 20-30.

Bought this last year & we only used it 3-4x, for a total of maybe 16 hours of use. It worked great & we had no complaints. Dried it & stored it according to instructions & brought it out this year. After the initial use of about 2 hours it stopped creating mist. Turn to the instruction "leaflet" that was included with it when we bought it and the only "solutions" for the humidifier not creating mist were: 1. It ran out of water; refill the tank -OR2. It's not plugged in, or it is plugged in but isn't turned on high enough. Thanks, but I'm not an idiot, so it was plugged in, filled with cool water & turned on HIGH and still no mist. Tried cleaning it thoroughlyeven though it wasn't really dirty and made no difference. A vast waste of money & I will certainly check reviews before purchasing my next humidifier. Thought we could just pick up any one because we don't use it often, but clearly I was wrong.Best Deals for Sunbeam Ultrasonic Visible Mist Humidifier

Use caution when using this appliance if you live in a hard-water area. I used it in a very dry room for about 4 weeks while recovering from surgery. The water in our area contains a lot of minerals, however there was no "danger" warning regarding this in the instruction manual. I am now under the medical care of several doctors for a chronic lung problem resulting from breating in the white powder the unit produces with hard water. I never had a problem before, and now regret this purchase wholeheartedly. I wouldn't want to see this happen to anyone else. Please, please! I got the humidifier promptly, no complaints there. It worked fine for about a day taking into consideration the automatic cut-off after two hours. The second day it worked for just a few seconds at a time intermittently but finally stopped working altogether. I was using it in the car so I took it inside and connected it to the AC; it did the same thing. In the car the water had a tendency to condense on the surfaces around the unit a little, it wasn't enough to be a problem.
The AC adapter looks just like the adapter you would get with an iPhone. There was an included USB cable that you would plug into the adapter and the other end of the cable connected to the unit. You could also use the cable to connect the unit to a computer USB port.
The reason I got the unit is to keep the humidity up a little in the car as it got cooler and drier outdoors. I got the unit in the fall before it got cold out. It probably wouldn't have worked well for that anyway since as the air got cooler it would have been more difficult to get the mist evaporated into the cold air, but that's just a guess since I didn't have a chance to test it.
It's a shame it didn't work because it's a clever idea, something about it just didn't work out. Maybe it was just a defective unit.
I had to pay for return postage so I'm not going to try a replacement; I don't want to have to pay for return shipping again.
My husband has been looking for something like this for years and when he found it , was so excited. However this great idea doesn't work. When it did put out any moisture the vapor was so weak & little that you could barely see it let alone be any good.
I have returned it.
