Great for the price. The pad is made of paper, but since you should replace it every year that is not a problem. The do make a aluminum pad, but it is not really necessary and just adds cost. The paper pad is coated with something so the paper does not fall apart.

Cheap Honeywell HC26P Whole House Humidifier Pad
Honeywell makes 2 different pads. HC26P1002 is made out of paper and coated with an anti-microbial coating. HC26E1004, which costs more, is a clay pad with Agion coating, the coating is silver ion anti microbial, not just plain anti-microbial. I like the clay product better.

This little thing is amazing. I have had those damp-rid things hanging in my closet for years, and they are useless compared to this.
I bought 4 of those mini R2-D2 and they work marvelous... I'm removing around 300ml each 2 days from each room.
It is saving my music and photo equipment.
Because we live in the south, normal humidity in a room is around 60%, even with the AC running, (let alone when we use the steamer during facials). This little humidifier runs all day and barely brings the humidity level down by a percent or two. I guess the room is a little too large for the capacity of the unit. It's a good little thing but truly only for closets and small bathrooms!
Our towels dry overnight ever since I plugged this little guy in which is the primary reason I bought it. That being said, I was expecting the entire bathroom to be less humid, not just enough so the towels could dry. Despite the fact that this dehumidifier runs at all times, the humidity in the bathroom is still palpable in the air hours after someone has showered. It takes the better part of a week while running 24/7 for the reservoir on the bottom go get 3/4 full.
It is quiet, especially for a main room like a bathroom. It's impossible to hear it if the water is running. I can hear it in the bedroom next door if the doors to both rooms are open, albeit a quiet low hum, and only if there's no one else talking or other noise to interfere. If you're sensitive to noise and there's no other noise in your bedroom, I would imagine it would take some adjustment to having this near your bed.
Overall, its okay. It doesn't work as well as I hoped it would, but it keeps my towels from mildewing and there's something to be said for that. I also like the noise level for a room that is frequently visited. If I knew then what I know now, I would keep looking for a small dehumidifier with more oomph to see what was widely available. I'm not sure if there's anything better on the market, but it works well enough for us to keep it until it dies.

The bathroom on our main level is wet and humid all the time. Just damp overall. It's a small room with limited access to outlets, so I needed something small that would fit on our counter top. This Eva-Dry fits beautifully in the space we had to offer and does remove water from the air. Just not enough to keep our bathroom from feeling damp. Our towels dry overnight ever since I plugged this little guy in which is the primary reason I bought it. Absolutely love this dehumidifier!! I had mold growing on the outside of my kitchen cabinets and on my shoes in my closet (in my studio apartment) once I cleaned everything free of mold and turned this little beast on I haven't seen any new mold or other crap growing. Vornado AQS 15 Replacement HEPA Filter Reviews

There is absolutely ZERO reasons for this to cost nearly $50. Comparable filters by other manufacturers are less than HALF this price. I don't blame Amazon, as this is the going price for these things...BUT Vornado should be ashamed. I bought the purifier because my Vornado fan has been going strong for 5 years... but now I seriously doubt I will ever buy from them again (at least anything that uses a consumable item, such as a filter). This is simply a money grab by Vornado at the expense of it's loyal customers.
Save your money and but a different air purifier that has charges reasonable prices for filter replacements. In the long run it will be cheaper (even if you already own this purifier).
It is quite easy to remove and put back in, no problem there, seems a simple process.
Seems tremendously expensive when you see what it is but maybe there's something I'm not understanding in the technology of making it. As I said though I did go several years (more than 5, with regular use), before I replaced it. Cheaper than a whole new air purifier.

While I like the Vornado Air Purifier, the replacement filters are way too expensive. Because I have pets in the house, hepa filters are the best option, but they should not be this expensive.Best Deals for Vornado AQS 15 Replacement HEPA Filter
I have had my Vornado for about 10+ years and still running. Not an everyday usage but significant enough. As all good air filters, the filters themselves cost a bunch. For $45 this will last for a long while. Make sure you get the pre-filter, this will add life to this HEPA filter.Honest reviews on Vornado AQS 15 Replacement HEPA Filter
Like other reviewers, I have two vornado air purifiers which works great, but the HEPA filter is ridiculously expensive and lasts barely 2 months before it loses significant air flow. I've decided to dump the vornado air purifier and got a different brand with "lifetime" hepa filter that doesn't need replacing.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Vornado AQS 15 Replacement HEPA Filter

List Price: $79.99

I love the look of burled wood. Has a neat character about it. It looks especially nice on my white bookshelf, where it fits perfectly. I wanted a humidor that has a top tray so I could have my nicest cigars on display when you first open the humidor, and the rest aging on the bottom. Seasoning was an easy process, and the sure seal lid technology definitely works. You can tell by dropping the lid closed and hearing the air get pushed out. My wife is an interior decorator, and she is the one who approved of this, I originally got some cherry wood glass top humidor with the dials on the front. But after getting this I agree with her, this is much nicer to display.
I like not having the analog hydrometer attached in any way since I am replacing it with a digital one, and I like not having the standard humidifier attached since I am using drymistat tubes. This should go without saying because of the price, but the burled wood is a wood veneer and not real, otherwise you'd expect to pay $1000 for something like this. But it looks really nice and the spanish cedar construction is obviously well made. This is a great looking, tight sealing humidor. It maintains the perfect level of humidity for my cigars in a very dry climate. I calibrated the hygrometer, following the "salt test" instructions provided, and it performs well. The only minor complaint is the weak double sided tape provided to hold the humidifier to the lid. Thanks for the fast delivery!

15-20 Cigar Humidor Cherrywood Finish Reviews
I was skeptical about buying this at first, but decided to go for it. The price was perfect and so was the size.
Size:
You can fit around 20 of my size cigars. I choose to go for the longer fattier ones. If the cigars were smaller you could easily fit more.
Seal:
The seal on this is superb. In my opinion it is almost airtight.
Finish:
The finish was flawless and matched my desk, dresser, and night stand. I was just hoping it would be similar but it worked in my favour. The hinges are not what they appear to be in the picture, they are brass but just a regular old hinge.
Accessories:
Next, it came with a hygrometer and a humidifier. Both work and did the job well. But as a more than average smoker I had to get a Digital hygrometer and better humidifier for it. Which I also bought from this seller.
Notes to Remember:
One thing is you Need to buy is a "One Step Calibration Kit" and "Two Seasoning packs". I also bought these from this seller. These will compliment the humidor and will make sure it properly seasoned, and the hygrometer is calibrated so the cigars do not dry out.
Seller:
Everything I bought was from "".

The seal was akin to an open submarine hatch at 20,000 leagues.
The Spanish cedar siding visible in the product photos was actually the most microscopically thin cedar veneer I've ever seen, glued onto MDF backing. The sides of the lid are bare finish, meaning lacquer is directly exposed to the humidity and your cigars.
I wouldn't sell this humidor to Saddam Hussein.
I am impressed by the value of this humidor,
Yes the actual box is made of mdf with either vinyl or veneer outside to make it look great, but it looks in no way cheap from the outside, and it is a very solid box.
seal is very good, there is a cedar lining that is about 1/8th inch thick that covers the entire interior of the box, The panels on mine were slightly warped when i first got them and i had concerns about it's air tightness, but while seasoning the box the panels swelled brilliantly to create a great seal and no longer look warped,
This is a lovely humidor to display on your desk or a shelf, A a fantastic little box to offer your associates a treat from,or for the very occasional smoker, who might just want something to hold 15-20 sticks to season between visits to the cigar shop and his or her enjoyment.
would gladly purchase again

I've recently gotten into this hobby and have a larger humidor i keep in the closet of my study, it was inconvenient to go to this every time i wanted to share a fine cigar with someone, so i saw this unassuming but classy looking humidor and decided it would be great to put a few choice smokables in it on my desk, for easy access.I am impressed by the value of this humidor,

This humidor is atrocious! The seal on it is almost as good as if you simply removed the lid and replaced it with a screen door, not to mention that the seal wasn't even affixed properly inside the box. The only almost-redeeming quality to this piece of junk is that (until you touch it) it does look nice. However, it would be better served being used as a jewelry box rather than a humidor. Do yourself a favor and look at something else if you need a small humidor!Friday, May 9, 2014
Review of DeLonghi DD45 45 Pt. Energy Star Dehumidifier
We bought two of these dehumidifiers because we live in a climate that has hot, humid summers. We thought we could save on air conditioning if we dehumidified the house because we can tolerate higher temperatures when the humidity is lower. However, these units generate so much heat it's like running a space heater and I keep turning them off because the house gets too hot from the heat generated by the dehumidifers. They also use a lot of electricity, so we didn't save any money by using them
Having said that, I need to give it credit for doing a good job of getting the humidity out of the air quickly. But, because of the heat they put into the house and the amount of electricity they use, they are not worth what we paid for them.
Pros:
Looks cool
Dependable
Really like the anti-icing feature
Not too expensive
Cons:
Not quiet, but not too loud
Uses quite a bit of power. According to my Kill-A-Watt meter:
Idle: 2 Watts
Fan on: ~85 Watts
Compressor on: ~495 Watts
Bucket is a bit difficult to empty and clean
Like others have said, the timer feature needs improvement. It would be so much better if we could set multiple times like a thermostat, but it only allows you to set X hours for the next on/off switch.
My old Hampton Bay dehumidifier is dying, so I might look into a Soleus Air model to compare it to the DeLonghi.
This unit will keep on (on its high setting) until it reaches the designated humidify, but then it turns to its low setting and stays on continuously sucking in / blowing air.
I wish it was able to turn off or at least not run the fan constantly.
Other than that the unit works very well!

Got this particular model because of the price and good ratings. It seems to perform as well as I can expect. The controls and displays are sensible. This model doesn't have a pump, so you want it to drain continuously, you have to place it somewhere hight to let the hose drain by gravity into a sink or drain. The unit comes with a hose, but the hose is very short and flimsy/light and cheaply made. I had to buy a short garden hose to meet my needs.Best Deals for DeLonghi DD45 45 Pt. So far so good! Has done a great job of lowering the relative humidity of my entire 2 BR apartment. The unit creates a little heat (as all dehumidifiers do) but that is offset by the amount of moisture it pulls from the air. A little loud on high but on the low setting, it is an noisy as you would expect it to be. Would recommend to others.Honest reviews on DeLonghi DD45 45 Pt. Energy Star Dehumidifier

My old dehumidifier used to have a feature where it would turn off / on depending on the rooms humidify. If the room got to a specified humidity level it would turn on until the humidity was taken care of and then it would turn off. This unit will keep on (on its high setting) until it reaches the designated humidify, but then it turns to its low setting and stays on continuously sucking in / blowing air.

Reviews of BestAir 246 Golden Solution II Combination Water & Bacteriostatic
This water treatment for humidifiers is called Golden Solution, and I have been using it in my Vornado 4.2 gal. humidifier each winter since 2005. Just one ounce per two gallons of water keeps mineral deposits from forming on the water tanks and wicks. Two gallons of Golden Solution last one winter in my apartment. The wicks last two months instead of one, due to the use of the Golden Solution.

Last winter I bought bacteriostat from Holmes. This container is easier to pour and is narrow, so it is easy to find a place for it on the shelf. It has worked well for one month for my humidifier (not an ultra-sonic humidifier). Best Extreme 18 Count Travel Humidor Deals
I have this exact same cigar travel humidor, but it's branded as the "Cigar Caddy". It's been a terrific large-capacity travel humidor. It's advertised to hold 18 cigars, but I've trimmed notches in each of the foam trays to allow for 24 cigars total. It maintains moisture very well according to my digital hygrometer. You could fill this thing with 18 (24 if you do what I did) of your best cigars, then let it tumble down a flight of stairs they'd be unharmed. Please don't do that and if you do, I am not liable for your stupidity.
Be careful not to overfill the internal humidification element. It's tricky and if you add too much solution/distilled water, it will leak onto your cigars.
All in all, I'd happily recommend this to a friend looking to carry several cigars with them, and keep them properly humidified, on a long camping trip.

I have a perfectly good Duracraft humidifier that needs annual filter replacement because of the hard water in our area. It was becoming more and more difficult to find the filters, with neither Ace, Lowes, not Home Depot carrying that brand. The use of this company gave me a great price and reasonable shipping so I can continue to use the humidifier for years to come.Friday, November 22, 2013
Reviews of Vornado Ultra1 Whole Room Ultrasonic Humidifier
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $199.99

I live in Chicago where the winters get very cold and very dry. I finally decided to do something about it a year ago and bought a humidifier. I went through a series of 5 humidifiers before I finally came across the Vornado Ultrasonic, which has been the best by far.
I started with a cheap Holmes humidifier that basically boils water and creates steam. The problem is that the heating element gets caked with residue and needs to be cleaned just about every other day and it's very difficult to clean. It also tends to give off a rather bad odor.
After returning the holmes, I purchased a Vornado evaporative humidifier. What I've found is that evaporative humidifiers simply don't create enough moisture. The first Vornado was a bust.
My next attempt was a Sharper Image Ultrasonic humidifier, which is very simple to use, easy to clean and provides a good deal of moisture. Unfortunately, much of the moisture simply falls to the ground right around the machine. I wasn't 100% sold.
I returned the Sharper Image unit to Bed, Bath, and Beyond and found two typically expensive ultrasonic humidifiers on sale for half off. One was the Air-O-Swiss Ultrasonic Humidifier http://www.amazon.com/Air-O-Swiss-32838-Ultrasonic-Humidifier/dp/B000J4I4RI/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1262363031&sr=1-7 The other was the Vornado. I decided to get them both with the intention of returning the one that I did not like as much. The Air-O-Swiss is a very elegant looking machine with lots of controls and settings. At the top, it has a plastic piece which lets you control the direction the moisture flows (it can go two directions at once). I found that it had the same problem as the Sharper Image unit, but I placed it on a 2' plant stand, directed the moisture to either side and that seemed to keep the moisture from settling on the floor.
The Vornado Unit's settings were slightly more complicated for me to figure out, but we're talking the difference between 2 minutes and 5 minutes here. The Vornado uses a fan to push the moisture further up so that it evaporates in the air BEFORE it hits the ground. PERFECT! I don't have to put it on a stand or worry that I'll find water seaping into my hardwood floors. Where the Air-O-Swiss is super quiet, the Vornado has a fan (that pushes the moisture up) and thus makes a bit more noise. I personally don't find the noise distracting at all and neither does my wife. Noise aside, it is the fan that really makes this the perfect humidifier because this is the ONLY humidifier of the many I tested that actually seems to get more moisture into the air than on the ground. I wound up getting two Vornado Ultrasonic Humidifiers for my 1800 square foot condo and have noticed a substantial improvement. I highly recommend this product.
One last thing... both the Vornado and the Air-O-Swiss have filters, which is nice because you want to be filling your home with clean moisture.

The Vornado whole room ultrasonic humidifier works great. It is cheaper than the Air O Swiss and is quieter. Maintenance is a problem. The manual calls for a weekly time consuming ritual. Scraping off the mineral build-up is a chore. Finding a mineral replacement cartridge is difficult. I will probably try another product next year.Best Deals for Vornado Ultra1 Whole Room Ultrasonic Humidifier
We've tried a few different humidifiers and found that most of them break quickly, are loud, or have some other problem. This Vornado unit at first seemed perfect. It was quiet, did a good job of humidifying a large area and had a good filter that prevented mineral dust from building up in the room. However, after about a month it would randomly start leaking all of its water out. Vornado replaced that unit under warranty with a new unit and the same thing started happening after a month or two.Honest reviews on Vornado Ultra1 Whole Room Ultrasonic Humidifier
I purchased the Vornado humidifier based on general reviews on the internet. Used it for one week, and returnerd it to Sylvane. The number one problem with this unit is humidstat it does work, but it is off by as much as 15 percentage points. So if you set it for a desired humidity of 50%, it will mist until the humidstat gets to 50%, but the actual humidity in the room will be somewhere around 35 or 40%. Number two problem advertised as "whisper quiet". While the unit is not "loud", it is also not "whisper quiet". Bottom line when you pay $200+ for a humidifier, you expect it to work correctly. I will add that Sylvane made it pretty easy to return the unit, with prompt credit to my credit card.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Vornado Ultra1 Whole Room Ultrasonic Humidifier
This humidified well for 1 year and then would not turn on. It is fairly noisy but humidifies well. The weekly cleaning is a pain in the neck. The black interior makes cleaning even more difficult. My unit would not turn on after 1 year. The company exchanged the unit for a new (maybe refurbished) at no charge although I had to pack up the unit and take it to UPS. The new unit worked for 1 week and now does not turn on. In sum, noisy and not reliable.
