Just the annual replacement filter for my 400-series Bemis humidifier, but obviously manufactured by someone else. The part fit well and is working fine.

Best BEM1045 Bemis Original Waterwick Humidifier Filter Deals
This product is adequate, but the one shipped to me was made by a different manufacturer, and was different and flimsier than the original equipment. It fits, and does the job, but it shouldn't be labeled as original equipment.

The first one we bought wasn't working correctly. We returned it and Amazon fed-exed another one. Thank you Amazon! Germ Guardian wasn't helpful at all. I called their help center to check if we were using it right and the return policy, and never got a call back, which was very odd. They don't have live people answering the phone, you just leave a message.
We got this for the mattress because we think there may be some mold in there. My boyfriend still has his cough, but that's probably because it's cold. So I can't say if it's effective or not.
If you are going to buy this, make sure you can buy it from a place that is very easy to exchange and return, seeing as our first one didn't work.
When I took it to a hotel on vacation, I used it in the shower and could smell it killing the who knows what that was there. My pet toys, beds, personal hygiene items, computer, cell phones, remote controllers, cutting boards, countertops and many more surfaces are sanitized without the use of chemicals, YAH! I can now use pretty smelling surface cleaners and use the wand to get the down and dirty.
When I use the wand over areas that always harvest smells (basement drains) I can smell the burn of the elimination of germs.
I'm unsure what the other reviewers are so upset about, the wand does exactly what it was intended to do, kill germs. This technology is not new just not advertised as much as money making cleaning products. I have a personal unit that uses uv-c light to sanitize water had over 5 years.
The cord is convenient if using in the kitchen or bathroom, it's not very long so I do't use it much. Rechargeable batteries (4AA) get about 2 hours before needing to be changed. The battery cover was difficult to remove use a Metric 3.0. The cover that supports the uv light uses a different sized screwdriver. No accidental removal of the wrong cover.
The built-in safety feature turns the light off if you tilt the wand too much. Exposure to skin and eyes is a no-no.
Of course, I purchased mine from Costco.com so no worries about malfunctioning unit or return policy.
Now with the outbreak of Swiine Flu, I use it even more!
2. The wand can only be used 'face down'. I understand this is a safety feature, but I wish I had known about this before I bought it. I was going to wave the wand over part of a wall that I cleaned some mold off of, but positioning this wand so that the light faces anywhere but down turns the light off.
3. It's kind of big. It's such a lightweight unit, I dont' know why they didn't make the body tighter.
The wand has good points to it (check out the other reviews), but I personally was disappointed with what I paid for it. NOTE: Prices on these things have dropped a lot since I bought mine, and they seem to be getting more in line with what I think I should have paid for it.
I'm allergic to mold. In 2009 I moved into a new apartment and found I was allergic to the fridge/freezer. There was no visible mold but every time I opened the door I got a face full of allergens that left me feeling nauseous and made my eyes sting. I tried cleaning the whole thing with a bleach solution : no change. I tried running a small HEPA filter in the fridge : no effect. So what to do? Buy a new fridge/freezer, or give UVC a whirl?
The following is one of those "don't try this at home folks" things, but I'll tell you what I did. First I unplugged the fridge/freezer from the wall. Then I removed the cover plate at the back of the freezer to expose the cooling fins. Then I masked all visible wiring because I was afraid the UVC light might cause the insulation to go brittle and crack, which could be dangerous. Then I set up the germ guardian to shine on the cooling fins. I used the one hour timer, set it going, and left the room. After an hour I came back and moved the wand to shine on a different section of the cooling fins. I repeated this 5 times until I'd covered them all. By the time I'd finished the whole house smelled of refrigerator mold. I put it back together, plugged it in, opened all the windows and went to bed assuming I'd just wasted my money on the wand...
By next morning, the mold smell had dissipated from the house. I opened the freezer door, and ... no mold smell! None. Nada. I've used the HEPA filter I mentioned inside the fridge compartment ever since in an effort to prevent a regrowth, and here we are almost two years later and ... no mold.
Fantastic.
Since then I've used the germ guardian on clothes I've bought which have turned out to be moldy right from the store (again, not visible mold, but enough to set off my allergies). Washing has had no effect, but a few minutes under the germ guardian has transformed unwearable clothes into wearable clothes.
If it's so wonderful, why only 4 stars? Because the device has an annoying tilt switch which kills the light if you turn the germ guardian to shine upwards. This makes it virtually impossible to disinfect upwards, and, even more annoyingly, very difficult to disinfect horizontally too : the switch tends to trip even when the light is pointing sideways. I understand that this is a safety feature, but I also wish there was a way to disable it, because not everything can be placed below the wand.
I can tell this lamp really works because you can smell a tiny bit of "burn" after you scan it on carpet, but it won't heat up anything so I dont think it'll actually set something on fire. It's really light weight so I didn't have a problem on scanning stuff with it on a extended period of time. You can always just leave it facing down and let it "burn the bacteria" and move it say once every 10 seconds, doesn't really have to hold on to it. And the auto shout off system is when u are really trying to make the UV light facing to u, It'll still work as long as u move less then 90 degree. So UV lighting the wall was no problem too (although it's impossible to do the ceiling...oh well)

I am very impressed with the effectiveness of the Germ Guardian 18" wand. I didn't give it 5 stars because it is a little back breaking to use if you are sanitizing a low area. When I took it to a hotel on vacation, I used it in the shower and could smell it killing the who knows what that was there. 1. Feels cheaper than it looks. Don't let the shiny gray color in the picture fool you, it's plastic and not metal. I had bigger expectations because I already had the big brother to this wand, the beautiful stainless steel uv-c room sanitizer. If the wand was a nice white plastic, I would not care, but making it the gray color makes it look and feel like a cheap knock-off.2. The wand can only be used 'face down'. I understand this is a safety feature, but I wish I had known about this before I bought it. I bought this for a single purpose, for which it exceeded my expectations.I'm allergic to mold. In 2009 I moved into a new apartment and found I was allergic to the fridge/freezer. The holding time is really boring... I suggest a attachment of a 2 inch holder from the wand to the object, so we could just place it there 2 inches away without holding it!!I can tell this lamp really works because you can smell a tiny bit of "burn" after you scan it on carpet, but it won't heat up anything so I dont think it'll actually set something on fire. Buy AOS 2055A Automatic Air Washer
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $385.00
Sale Price: Price Unavailable
Today's Bonus: 10% Off

For details, including photos of the internal workings of this evaporative humidifier, look for the 2055 AirOSwiss reviews done elsewhere on Amazon which has plenty of images of the inner workings. To summarize, it's an evaporative humidifier which works by drawing air in through the top via a fan then over a disk pack of about 10 slowly rotating plastic disks which dip into a pool of water, then the air exits the side carrying the humidified air.
Pros: No heated element to worry about overheating when it runs dry, no ultrasonic misting to leave water droplets on carpet/furniture, easy to clean, no filters to be replaced, and it traps air particles on the discs with the water so it does 'wash' the air.
Cons: Evaporative which means it cools (fine for the desert country, not so good in winter in the Midwest), no heating, and the fill valve on the water tank is the stupidest location you can imagine, so that at best you can fill it only 3/4 full.
The other con: They SAY on their website they have a 10 year warranty, yet when I got this thing from Bed Bath and Beyond the plastic shaft inside had corroded from time and was crumbling. It was a major effort to get these guys to agree to replace it. It is NOT SAID on their warranty, but apparently the 10 year warranty does not apply to the rotating disc set (surprise!). I told them they had better put that in writing if they don't want to tick off a lot more customers other than me. They eventually replaced it. Also note, the 10 year warranty does NOT apply to the water tank and its part . . .that's only 3 months.
For $260 bucks or more, the above limitations cut it to a 3 star, even though it's a reliable humidifier that cranks out the humidity from the unit with no filters and very little maintenance. As a personal aside, I can't stand the reviews which deride humidifiers because their hygrometers show no change. Humidifiers can only be evaluated by how quickly they put water into the air . . . the ultimate humidity change is depending on the room's air flow, items of absorbency, and atmospheric conditionsnone of which are in the control of a humidifier!
Air-O-Swiss has a tendency to slightly inflate the statistics for this product. The box claims that it operates on 20 W of power whereas the documentation admits that it actually needs 29 W on the highest setting. The noise level is stated as being below 25 dB; this may be true of the lower setting which is indeed very quiet, but the higher setting is well above this level although it is still quiet compared to most evaporative humidifiers. The water output is claimed to be up to 3 gallons but 2 to 2.5 gallons of output in a fairly dry room (RH of ~35) seems closer to the truth. Finally, the capacity of the storage tank is effectively only about 1.1 gallons because it is virtually impossible to fill completely. The actual performance statistics compare quite favorably with other humidifier designs so I don't see why the manufacturer feels the need to exaggerate.
The system is well designed, very quiet, easily cleaned, and provides a decent amount of humidification (of course, if you want to humidify a large home you should expect to need several of these units). This is the only humidifier I have owned that didn't occasionally leak. The primary deficiency is that it lacks a built-in hygrometer so it will only shut off when it runs dry. In practice, however, hygrometers are often very inaccurate so many products that include them are still not reliable enough to operate in an automated mode. It would have been nice if the unit had 3 speeds and a larger storage tank, but these are minor quibbles. This product sells for a premium price but it is a solid performer and is worth the cost.
It has had NO problems over the last 5 or so years. It is also very energy efficient and quiet and looks nice. The ultrasonic humidifier created too much white dust for me, and the mist could damage furniture. A wick humidifier caused some water damage on a floor after it cracked open.
You do have to clean the water out periodically by pouring it out and gently cleaning the base, and once every month or few months or so in the winter take all the discs out and wash them with something like ecover dish washing detergent and a sponge. I keep an upright piano in tune almost completely year round. I would recommend a second separate humidistat if you are tightly controlling the humidity in your home for a piano, or other such application. For just comfort, the built in humidistat is fine, though you have to increase the setting to a higher humidity setting in the winter to keep the same room humidity, and lower the setting or turn it off towards the spring/fall and summer.
He does have to clean it regularly to keep the scum and/or mold down. This would be true of any appliance of this type. Just be aware of that before you buy.

If you are in the market for a humidifier and are willing to pay a premium price the AOS 2055A merits serious consideration. If you are primarily interested in air purification you should look elsewhere; while air washers do remove a small percentage of large particles from the air (the rotating disk sweep some particles out of the air) they don't have the flow rate needed to compete with a good HEPA filter and they don't remove the full range of particle sizes a HEPA filter will. Additionally, a good HEPA filter will capture 80-99+% of the particles that enter the system (depending on the quality of the device) whereas there is no guarantee that a particle entering an air washer will make contact with one of the rotating disks. The primary benefits of the rotating disk design don't come from air purification but rather from the increased surface area available for evaporation that permits a smaller and quieter fan to be used in their design. Also, the action of the rotating disks helps prevent the water in the basin from becoming a stagnant breeding ground for mold, bacteria, etc.Air-O-Swiss has a tendency to slightly inflate the statistics for this product. Purchased this about 5 years ago (or similar model with rotating discs and digital humidity reading) for about $350. As far as I can tell, this is the best humidifier on the market. Tried a few other models including heating element, ultrasonic. wick, and this is by far the best. Have run it almost non-stop in the winter for a number of winters, and also ran it a little bit in the summer if my room gets too dry with the air conditioners in a former apt that had underpowered AC. It has kept my room at about 40 percent year round. Like any other humidifier you can't have any drafts coming in from outside or a window open in the winter or it won't help you much.It has had NO problems over the last 5 or so years. It is also very energy efficient and quiet and looks nice. The ultrasonic humidifier created too much white dust for me, and the mist could damage furniture. A wick humidifier caused some water damage on a floor after it cracked open.

Not a bad unit, but small water tank. In my house I use two on the first floor, and I need to fill them each three times a day. As for "cleaning the air", I think that is definitely overblown. The ONLY thing I find in the base of the unit, which needs to be addressed not monthly as they state but weekly, is the calcium build up. No dirt in there, only crusted deposit from the water going through there.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for AOS 2055A Automatic Air Washer
My husband has severe allergies. He has used this brand and model of air cleaner for a long time. It helps keep the air in our bedroom in good shape and his allergies bother him less with it running. We even take it with us when we visit our families. He does have to clean it regularly to keep the scum and/or mold down. This would be true of any appliance of this type. For the first day or two this humidifier pad work like it should. As soon as the clay was saturated, it made the air in the house smell like clay. I Love the kettle.. Sits on top of woodburning stove insert(fireplace), takes care of the dryness problem.. Kettle does have to be seasoned.. I rubbed it with some olive oil and put it in the stove for an hour at 350. Have to season the inside more than once. Keeps kettle looking great without any rust.. Love it... Great value

Honeywell HC22A 1007 Humidifier Pad, 2PK Review
I received a damaged pad in the mail. I would've just used the pad if it fit in the frame, but it unfortunatley didn't. I sent an email to the sellers saying that it unfortunately came in damaged and attached pictures to illustrate what happened. The sellers promptly sent me a new pad and the process was really hassle free and painless. The sellers were great!

I've had Aprilaire 700 in my current and last home, so over fifteen years. In the last couple of years this brand is the only one that was available from my local supply store, prior to that I've always paid more for an aprilaire brand. The april aire would last the entire humidification season for me, and sometimes 2 seasons when I wasn't so diligent about changing it. This brand however, lasts only half the season and then it collapses and bows toward the fan unit until it starts to be hit by the fan. The noise has alerted me to the issue and I've then changed the filter. However, just two weeks ago it started doing that 24 hours before I was leaving on vacation. I was able to shut the humidifier off and changed filer when I returned, but I dread the idea that it might have happened while I was gone. Who knows what damage might have been done to the unit. So, yes, it is inexpensive, it does its job, but it lacks the life of the name brand, and know you may need to buy two instead of one of the more expensive one. Me? I'm going back to AprilAire brand.
It's important to change the pad in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. Doing so is quick and will help ensure the proper operation of your home humidifier for years.

I have gone through various Propylene Glycol pre-mixed solutions before for humidors and this is as good as any other. I use this both in my larger forced air humidifier and also in my second humidor with the oasis style one. No issues and for the price it is good. On a side note, the packaging with the smug cigar smoker on it is a good conversation piece too for friends.Best Deals for Quality Importers Cigar Caddy Humidification, 16-Ounce Activator
This solution works as promised. Careful not to use too much or your humidity levels can jump to 80%. I have gone through two bottles and placing a reorder for more.Honest reviews on Quality Importers Cigar Caddy Humidification, 16-Ounce Activator
Bought it, Using it and absolutely no problems. Using bit in a high end gel cup that says it must only use its high end solution! Well let me tell you its the same ratio of mix and I am having 0 issues , its staying right at 70% what more could I ask fer? Just make sure you watch your humidor on long periods of rain and if it has a glass top and if you keep it somewhere it gets a lot of change in tempature.... enjoy !Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Quality Importers Cigar Caddy Humidification, 16-Ounce Activator
I have kept my humidor between 60 and 70 degrees and this kept the humidity at 70%. After 2 months i noticed fuzz on my humidifier. Don't think this is truly anti fungal.
