I was referred to Boveda by a trusted cigar enthusiast who swore by them. I was excited to try them out in my three rack home humidor. After being patient for several days the humidity level dropped significantly, however on the positive has held steady, just not at the expected range based on the product specs. I enjoy the premise of the product however it just isnt for me and my cabinet. I may not purchase these again unless someone can prove me its a worthy year round investment.

I was a little disapointed with these when I got them. I thought they would finally cure my humidor of me having to baby sit it with distilled water and sponges. I got the 68% ones and pulled everything except them out. The humidor dropped to 64%. I finally did a little more reserach on them and it says with a wood humidor you can lose 1-4%, thus explaining the 64%.Next order will be the 75% and then see if they last 2 months as the mfg says.

This item is convenient and simple to use. Just place in humidor and you are good for months. I have a travel bag that I use the other one in. Keeps cigars from drying out like it is intended to do.

If you have a humidifier that uses these filter panels then you really need to replace them each year. These are very inexpensive here. A fraction of what an HVAC company will charge you.

I bought this to replace a Vicks Humidifier that I was sick of constantly buying expensive, short lasting filters on and it was on its last legs in function.

Very simple design on this. Use in bedroom and seems to humidify well enough. The filter that came with it was a floppy thing, that was very difficult to keep upright when putting the top back on after filling. I came to find out replacement filters have a plastic frame, which solves this issue. The filter otherwise would have lasted the full dry winter season for me. I use the bacteria treatment. That bottle will last a very long time! It is awkward to fill and needs to be filled every other night if run on low or every night if run on high. My biggest problem with this unit is how noisy it is. The fan rattles loudly and I HAVE to run it on low to sleep, even with earplugs in. The rattling comes and goes, but makes me want to get rid of it most nights.

I bought this humidifier because it had advertised its ability to humidify a fairly large space. I only needed it to cover a small area but in a large room. It has not lived up to its claims, as I cannot raise the humidity more than the high teens/low 20's, certainly too low a humidity to be comfortable. I guess the old adage, "You get what you pay for!" rings true with humidifiers as well as most everything else in life.

This product arrived in 8 days instead of the 5 promised. I was told to purchase this when my Hut-200 series humidifier stopped working. Replacing this piece did not solve the problem like the customer service rep said it would. The humidifier was only a few months old. Don't buy either product.

I got one season out of it. I wasted my money buying all the replacement filters for the second year. The light came on but it went from filling it up every day to filling it once a week.It never worked correctly again. I wound up throwing the thing away.

I have been using this humidifier for 5 years. Here's how I keep the filter fresh.

I fill the tank at night before bed, run it on low, and by the next night the tank is empty and the filter is all dry. I flip the filter, fill the tank, and start over again. If I need to add water more frequently (on a dry day or if I want higher humidity), I still have to LET THE FILTER DRY OUT and FLIP the filter BEFORE I add new water.

So, I run it 24/7, and it lasts about 7 to 8 weeks because

(1) I let the humidifier run until the filter is bone DRY for EACH tank of water.

(2) I flip the filter every time I put a new tank of water on it.

(3) I put the tank and tray in the dishwasher once every 7 to 10 days.

These are what the instructions say to do, and I have found it WORKS! I need two or three filters per season.

If you keep adding water without letting the tray and filter dry, your filter will get stinky and yellow in 2 weeks and you will be unhappy!

If you find the filter is soggy, let the humidifier run until it dries out. Make sure there is no water in the tank and tray, and it will dry out faster in the humidifer (20 30 minutes on high?) than in the air.

Don't be unhappy: let the filter dry out between tanks.

First the reviewers that recount experiences of bad smells from their filters need to undrstand that wick humidifiers, like the HB 05920 and 05921, require that an anti-bacterial solution be added to the water tank when filling. This solution, I use "Golden Solution" (try Google), prevents mold and algae from forming on the filter and in the tank. This prevents the odors and gets you a couple months out of your filter if you run your unit 24/7 like me.

Second there are other replacement filters on the market that are the same size as the HB True Air replacement filter and cost half as much.

I use two HB True Air humidifiers and usually stock up on 4 filters each for the 6 months they run continously in my loft. I have a couple True Air filters and a couple Best Air filters right now and cannot tell the difference between them when it comes to performance. The name brand True Air's keep their shape better, but for nine bucks, I'm not worried about the asthetics of the inside of my humidifier.

I've been through so many humidifiers that get moldy and nasty so that you just have to throw them out. My sister spent a lot of mony on a Hunter that is supposedly clean free, but it always had mold in the standing water when I lifted the tank for refill. This Hamilton Beach is a wonder. I use it every night year round. If you follow the directions and put the parts in the dishwasher once a week and turn the filter every time you refill the tank it works like a charm. The only time I have had a filter go bad is when I go on a trip and it just gets moldy. I haven't found a way around that. But otherwise, I can use one for months without a problem. It's all in following the directions. And it helps to change the water in the tank at least every other day. I recommend this item to everyone.
