Buy BEM1040/BEM1042 Bemis Aftermarket Humidifier Wick Filter (2 Pack)
I order this thinking it was that exact same type of filter. It is an off brand not what is picture on website. To send it back it would cost me the same as I paid for it. Really be sure you want an item from this company the due charge a re-stock fee and will take some back for return shipping. The filter is like a honeycome style filter only half as much surface area. I did not receive any type of resolution after my inial email so I'm going have deal with it and buy directly from the manufacture.

Best Evaporative Humidifier Stainless Steel 15 Gallon Deals
In my quest to replace the fake woodgrain 1970s-vintage Sears whole house humidifier that we've used for years, I first purchased an EssickAir (Bemis) TD6-710. The unit had all the looks, size, and features we wanted a really slick machine. The only problem was that it was severely design-flawed.
There is nothing on the market as sleek-looking as that unit. It's sad that it is so flawed. The hardware store was gracious to take it back used and unboxed, and they decided to return all 3 units they still had back to the manufacturer.
Wal-Mart had the Boston Innovative Products EH-01-342 for $109, so we picked one up. This unit doesn't have the electronic humidity meters, out-of-water indicator, or super-easy refill of the EssickAir, but it is solidly built and so far does not overflow the water basin like the EssickAir. There are 2 two-gallon containers in it for water. Each has a handle for ease of carrying. Getting them out involves removal of a pop-out screen in the back of the unit, so you don't have the convenience of frontfill. The 3-speed evaporator fan in typically noisy, even on the lowest setting. Cold air blows out the front of the unit, making placement of it in the room a concern of comfort. The unit is taller but narrower that those boxy larger units, making it a little less invasive. Time will tell how it fits into our home. I may update this in a few weeks with further experience.
2-1-07 Update
After using this machine for a little while, one thing I cannot understand. Why doesn't it have an out-of-water indicator? It seems crazy that you have to attune your ear to the mild grating noise that indicates a water refill is necessary. Why put the water pump through all that excessive wear? Another thing that can be annoying is the short cycle time. I don't know how the humidity sensor is set up, but the unit turns on for a few minutes, turns off for a few minutes, turns on for a few minutes... why not design a delay in the timing so that it wouldn't be so jarring with all this cycling? I'm thinking now that a 3-star rating is more appropriate, although it still beats most of the competition that I have tried. We purchased this humidifier at WalMart when they were clearanced last year and got them out of the attic for this winter. First of all I don't understand how it can be called a "15 gallon" humidifier when it really only holds 4 gallons can anyone explain this? Also, we have also had problems with knowing when to refill it until the humidifier starts making a funny noise (and this surely isn't good on the machine to constantly let it run out of water). Also, we have had a funny substance running out of the machine almost from the beginning of use, and today while wiping up the "junk" I noticed that it is green now. ???? Anyway the reason I rated it a '2' is because it is nice looking and does run 'fairly' quietly when it is full of water. Overall, our family has been very disappointed in this humidifier.

Reviews of MISTIQUE Portable Travel Mini Office/Bedroom/Spa Ultrasonic
if you're looking for a small humidifier, this little thing is the one to get. i bought this to keep in my car to try to combat the dry heat during the winter. it fits in the cup holder. i also use one in my study. it runs for well over 5 hours and has two settings. since buying my first one, i've since bought two more. all of them are working well.
The first time I used this, I followed the instructions and soaked the absorbent rod for a few minutes and it delivered a strong mist. After that, I just kept refilling the bottle and after 15 hours of use, a few hours at a time, it stopped working. A few days later, I held the rod under a faucet for a minute and tried it again and it worked but not as strong as before. On several occasions, it stopped after an hour or so. Finally, I re-read the instructions, soaked the rod for 2 or 3 minutes, and tried it again. This time, it worked just like new. Gotta keep that rod soaked which can be a pain on long trips but it's doable. I also wiped off the mist orifice. There doesn't seem to be much than can break on it so it should be just a matter of soaking the rod, keeping water in the bottom, and keeping it clean.

It works great as a personal humidifier in my car! It fits in the cup holder, plugs into the cigarette lighter, and works exactly like I hoped it would. I would warn potential buyers that it does not put out a lot of moisture because of its size. I hold it up to my face if the it is really hot and dry in the car.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for MISTIQUE Portable Travel Mini Office/Bedroom/Spa Ultrasonic
I haven't had a chance to test this little fella out on a long car trip yet (my purpose in buying this, as the interior of my car is soooo dry on the long trips I take), but it does operate as it should and I'm hoping for the best. It's exactly what I was looking for. The shipping was fast & it was well packed.Monday, December 22, 2014

A functional and almost accurate fit to my Humidaire HF-182. Initially, the filter seemed to slide down the tracks that hold it and causing some leakage, but a slight filter modification and it holds well and works fine.Honest reviews on Humid-aire Neptune Rh7504 Humid-aire Humidifier Replacement Water
Paper makeup of filter causes it to decay quickly and this can block the drain line at the bottom of the humidifier causing it to leak.Saturday, July 12, 2014
HERA Ultrasonic Humidifer Review
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program To combat the dry air commonly found in winter, I have used humidifiers for as long as I can remember. I have used various types and I tend to prefer the ultrasonic humidifiers due to their low noise and the lack of required filters and other parts that other types of humidifiers commonly use.
Let us start with the basics. The HERA ultrasonic humidifier is basically another ultrasonic humidifier. The basic functionality of the product is not much different than any other ultrasonic humidifier that I have ever seen. The unit creates a spout of water mist, which in theory will evaporate before hitting the ground and humidify the air. The product does this and does this well.
However, the HERA Ultrasonic Humidifier has a pretty hefty price tag compared to many other models. What sets the HERA brand apart from the rest?
The HERA Ultrasonic Humidifier has touchpad controls that allow the user to customize the humidifier settings to their own preferences. The humidifier has a warm mist feature that helps take the cold, wet feeling out of the room. There is the option of three different output levels. The humidifier can be set up to shut off when it reaches a predetermined humidity level and there is a digital hygrometer to show you the humidity level of the room. The night mode will dim the LCD display if the light bothers you at night. The unit is equipped with a filter cartridge meant to reduce the hardness level of your water and an ionic silver cube meant to help keep the water bacteria free.
I personally found most of the functions on the humidifier pretty intuitive. I did have to refer to the manual a few times to figure out exactly what certain buttons did. I felt that the manual was very poorly designed. I thought the content of the manual was fine, but the layout of the manual was not very user friendly in my opinion. While I did not have problems figuring out how to fill the tank, my wife did have to take some time to figure out where the water went.
There were some things I really liked about the unit. I thought the output level of the unit was powerful. On the highest setting with the unit 2 feet off the ground, the water did not evaporate before it hit the ground. I thought the unit was very aesthetically pleasing. It is an attractive box form that can fit in a number of areas easily. I thought the warm mist was a nice option that I felt made a difference in the feel of the air in the room. One of the things I liked best was that the tank is square, which makes for easy filling. I have had other shaped tanks that were a pain to try and hold while filling with several gallons of water.
The hygrometer seemed to be fairly accurate for the most part. I put another hygrometer in the same room and the readings were pretty close. The only exception to this is when I filled the tank. The hygrometer on the humidifier would read too high for a few minutes after filling the tank. If the auto mode is being utilized, it will usually shut off until the reading corrects itself.
What I did not like about the unit is the concept of the filter cartridge. I live in an area with pretty hard water. There is a water softener in my house, but I know many people do not have one. I have used ultrasonic humidifiers for years before I put my water softener in and I will admit after about 3 or 4 winters, I will usually have to clean the humidifier out with vinegar and a soft brush. While the idea of the filter cartridge did intrigue me, it is a disposable part and one that might need to be changed frequently.
The humidifier comes with a test strip. The test strip appears to be German and measures in units of Degrees of Hardness (dH) and the instructions measures water hardness in "pink boxes." I took a sample of untreated water in my house and using test strips, I measured it to be about 250 ppm (parts per million) or about 15 gpg (grains per gallon). Using the provided test strip, it measured about 17 dH or about 3.5 pink boxes. In my later research, I found that the gpg and dH measurements are not identical, but for this purpose, they are close enough to use interchangeably.
So why am I spending so much time talking about water hardness? The filter cartridge life is dependant on water hardness. With 15gpg/17dH water hardness level at my house without the water softener, I can expect the filter cartridge to last for 20 to 40 gallons of water or 10 to 20 fills of the tank. At the time of this writing, a Stadler Form A-112 replacement cartridge runs $15 to $20. The Stadler Form Replacement Ionic Silver Cube is supposed to be replaced annually and currently that runs another $25.
My treated water is about 1 gpg. According to the manual, at this hardness level, the filter should last about 115 gallons of water or about 58 fills.
While I liked the humidifier, the price of replacement cartridges and silver cubes can be quite expensive. Both of these items are optional to use, but if you take those aspects away, then this is just another ultrasonic humidifier and then there are many more cost effective alternatives available. Those alternatives might not be as stylish and the controls might not be as user friendly, but when it comes down to it, without the filter cartridge, my $50 Sunbeam has most of the same functions as this one.
Overall, I thought it was an excellent product worthy of 5 stars. However, keep in mind that there is potentially quite an expense to utilize the product to its full potential. For that, I am deducting 2 stars.
TO FILL THE UNIT:
Lift the reservoir off of the unit using the built in handle on top
Carry it to your sink. It is a sealed unit. No water will drip from it.
Flip the reservoir upside down in your sink.
Remove the fill cover. The fill cover is about 3" in diameter. The filter is attached to the inside of it so when you remove the cover you are also removing the filter. It opens and closes with a 1/4 turn.
Fill the reservoir and replace the cover/filter
Walk the reservoir back over to the unit and put it in place. It simply sets on top of the base.
The most difficult part of this entire process is turning the reservoir right side up in your sink when it is full of water. It now has a couple gallons of water in it, so it's a bit heavy. It might be a bit difficult for someone very old or with weak hands.
For the person who said that the floor was wet, the instructions do clearly state NOT to put it on the floor. We have ours on our kitchen countertop which works quite well except when we have the gas range on. There is something about the charged ions this thing puts into the air that must mess with the oxygen and hence the flame on our stovetop.
For the person who has a problem with his hard water and this unit. I would suggest that it is not the fault of this product. You will face the same issue with ANY high-end unit that uses this technology.
The specifications are much better on the manufactures website.
I run this unit constantly at the highest output level and refill every morning (and night) and it is just about shutting off for low-water when I go to bed (about 15 hours for full tank cycle using max loads).
Just a couple complaints:
Refilling the unit is ridiculous. I recommend placing unit near a kitchen sink that has a hose attachment that you can spray into the tank as the tank needs to be held upside down. This causes you to set the tank on its "head" while you fill it. Thus this smashes the directional vents for the unit and creates a very fragile process. I have learned to set the tank on the edge of something while refilling so the vents are not bearing the weight of the entire tank.
Secondly I would say the tank needs to be larger. Yes I understand that this unit is made for easy carrying by most people etc, but a larger tank option would be nice.
On to the Hera. It looks good, like a tapered black slab. It's just the right size (not a hulk). The control panel is very intuitive (with mist levels, a hot/ cold choice), and a humidity setting (in increments of 10%). There is a night mode that really dims the light to almost invisible. Really, what's not to like?
Two (and half) things. First, in night mode it automatically seems to go to a low mist level. Not sure why. Second, and the reason we returned this, is that that hygrometer didn't work. After running it two days in a small room it still showed 30% humidity. As I mentioned this was a key feature from our point of view. I didn't feel like trying again with a replacement because I had seen this complaint in other reviews (I should have listened!) The smaller complaint was that for the first few minutes there was water leaking from the bottom seam or joint on the water tank. Obviously this would be really bad, but the leak stopped after the first few minutes and did not return.
In fairness, I think this is an excellent machine, but don't get it for the built-in hygrometer. I suppose I should dock more stars for the fact that a promised feature seems to regularly not work on these machines, but I liked it enough otherwise.
This is a really neat package that contains just about all of the basic requirments in less than one-half of the space. Unlike other reviewers my unit came with an entry level type of review and it works as promised. The unit comes with a list of options including "Humidity", "Output", "Warm Mist", "Night Mode", and "Auto Mode" and they all work as directed. Unless I have missed something everything works as promised and really without any difficulty. I find the filling of the Transparent water tank a bit of a problem but overall it works as planned.
For me the unit works as directed. It shows once again that form and function can be combined into a really neat package. I like other humidifiers but this one is now the leader in both design and functiom.

I'm giving it 5 stars when I should really give it 4 only because the other reviews are really addressing the instructions rather than the product. You really have to read them carefully. This thing is engineered actually quite well. Admittedly it is not very intuitive.TO FILL THE UNIT:

The function of the device is perfect. The warm mist setting is great in winter and cool mist in summer is great for providing evaporative cooling to your home.I run this unit constantly at the highest output level and refill every morning (and night) and it is just about shutting off for low-water when I go to bed (about 15 hours for full tank cycle using max loads).

Honest reviews on HERA Ultrasonic Humidifer
Humidifiers is one of frustrating product categories. Almost everything out there seems to get mediocre reviews or have some fatal flaw. My own requirements were as follows: (1) Something with a hot and cold mist. (2) Something with a very pleasing form. (3) Something that had the hope of not becoming a bacterial breeding ground. (4) Something with a precise hygrometer built in. (5) Something with the capacity to run at least one night. The Stadler form devices promise many of these. We chose the Hera over the the other model with a hygrometer (the William) for one main reason. There had been complaints on the William that the lights are too bright at night, and this was a very big concern with a baby in the room.On to the Hera. It looks good, like a tapered black slab. It's just the right size (not a hulk). The control panel is very intuitive (with mist levels, a hot/ cold choice), and a humidity setting (in increments of 10%). As noted in previous reviews, these air vent covers aren't magnetically strong enough to cling to an air vent with air coming out of it. Hell, I couldn't get them to stay on even then the air wasn't blowing, much less when it was blowing.
For air returns, these would probably work okay if the magnetics were strong enough to hold it to the register.
It's a good idea but the solution needs refinement.
1) First make sure to cut them exactly to size...the smaller the better as this allows them to hold their own weight much better.
2) Double them up. After you cut it to size use 2 covers back-to-back on wall vents. They will hold this way.

If you are using it for floor vents, it is fine, but I have a vent on the ceiling and it does not stay up.Best Deals for RPS Magnetic Central Air Conditioning Vent Cover - 3 Pack
The problem is that when packed three together, the magnetic fields are weakened. I found two covers placed with the right polarity stick to a ceiling vent better. You also need to cut them to the vent size to reduce weight. It's a good idea but the solution needs refinement.

Unfortunately, these cover are not magnetic enough to support their weight in a vertical position, which is what I bought them for.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for RPS Magnetic Central Air Conditioning Vent Cover - 3 Pack
All the prior reviews are acccurate and these don't work as advertised for the purposes of covering wall vents. However as weak as these magnetic covers are they can potentially work for you. Here's the solution I found that works ok:1) First make sure to cut them exactly to size...the smaller the better as this allows them to hold their own weight much better.
2) Double them up. After you cut it to size use 2 covers back-to-back on wall vents. They will hold this way.

Normally I don't review the service under the product, but this is ridiculous and I have to believe it reflects somewhat the quality of the product.
I've ordered this item twice (yes, twice) and both times I received it, the dome that you're supposed to place your head under was cracked and broken. Two things:
1) A quality product wouldn't suffer damages of this nature twice
2) Amazon should know how to package things to prevent this kind of damage
After examining both of the steamers I received, I realized the dome is made of cheap, brittle plastic and I can see how it would easily break. I'm done trying to make this work; even if I were to receive an intact unit, due to the quality of the product I'm nervous I might easily break it myself. Onward to the Heutiful Hair Steamer I guess :-/.

Update on this review. The seller contacted me after posting and offered to ship the hood only! Joy of joys, the hood arrived undamaged and after using this a few times (I waited until I wanted to to start doing my "summer hair") I can finally review the product itself. So, thank you to the seller for taking care of this issue for me.
The steamer was easy to assemble overall. Just a few components that needed to be snapped together and you're ready to go. I will say that this product does still feel a little flimsy to me; however, my friend has the Heutiful steamer and having compared the two, I'd say they're about the same in terms of the quality of the construction.
On to the actual performance of the product. Overall, I have to say I love what it's done for my hair. I can definitely see a difference in the moisture of my hair and the overall look of my curl pattern. I have A LOT of hair (waist length when straightened and THICK) and I'm able to fit all of it under this steamer for the most part. Filling the cup to the max line results in about 15 minutes of steaming, which seems to do the trick although I will say I wish it lasted for a full 20 minutes. Overall, I'm pleased with this product and you can't beat the price!
I am changing my raiting from 1 star to 3 star based on the replacement unit that I received.
I have to say that I was skeptical, but very pleasantly surprised that Secura (not the Amazon vendor) responded with a replacement unit. I did have to follow up with them via phone AND email. But I did not have to ship the old unit back. They asked me to either ship back the cord or email a video showing me cutting the cord. I was glad to do it, as I didn't feel the old unit could be used for anything so there was no need to save it or return it to them.
The new unit came in less than a week and I've used it several times over the last six months with no real issues. I will say that the water reservoir cracked on the new one which was unexpected. Since I kept the parts from the old unit, I had a replacement so to speak.
I've just started using the facial steamer attachment this week and I like it a lot. I also used the facial steamer as a humidifier treatment for my daughter when her sinuses were stopped up. Last night I used the facial attachment to get the steam to places on my head that weren't getting fully steamed using the hair attachment.
I still feel unsure that this product will last very long. I feel that any time i use it could be my last steam. This is based on previous reviews and my own experience with the first unit and the cracked reservoir on the second unit. This product just seems fragile to me. Nevertheless, I decided that if I get at least 10 steam treatments for my hair from this device, that I would be satisfied that I came out ahead since 10 steam treatments in a salon would cost me between $100 $250 depending on each salon's fees for steaming.
One last small note if you have a dog the beeping sound from the on/off switch really drives one of my dogs crazy. When he hears it, he growls and runs through the house like he's nuts. So I have to put him on a leash and offer him a piece of hotdog whenever I steam so he will remain calm. This is just a side note for anyone who has a dog that hunts small prey the beeping sound apparently sounds like the high-pitched sound of rodents and will trigger their hunting instinct so don't be shocked if it happens. It doesn't affect my other dog at all, but she is not a hunting dog.
If for some reason, this product is still working after a year, I will definitely raise the rating to a 4-star.
*****ORIGINAL REVIEW OCTOBER 2012*****
When this steamer works, it is wonderful. But the fact that it won't work is very disturbing. I ordered mine 10/12/2012, received it 10/16/2012, and used it for the first time 10/21/2012. I used it again on my daughter and one or two more times on myself between 10/21 and 10/28. Today, when I attempted to use it, i experienced the same problems that I've seen on others' reviews. The switch won't stay in the 'on' position. It beeps and shuts itself off. One reviewer who had the same problem said that she discovered she needed more water. So I added water over the MAX line which made the unit stay on. However, it shut off after a few minutes when the water evaporated down to the MAX line. So now, the max line on the cup seems to be the min line! Even while it stayed on for about 9 minutes, the steam did not come out through the hood as it had done previously when it was working properly. I cannot account for why it would stop working. I've had it assembled and sitting in the same place from day one. Also I noticed that the cup has a hairline crack in it. Although there is no leakage, this is problematic because it indicates the cup cannot take the high temperature of the steamer. I think the idea of this steamer is good, but there are obviously quality control issues with the design and engineering. I say this because I am an engineer.
Here is what I can list as issues:
(1) the calibration is off for the unit to detect minimum/maximum water level. It is confused and it's shutting off at the maximum level
(2) the sensor that controls the release of steam through the hood is malfunctioning
(3) the parts are not tested or rated for the temperature ranges that the unit produces
Also, smaller less serious issues are with the product documentation are listed below:
(a) users must release the built up water that accumulates under the hood or the water will reheat and drip down the back the next time the unit is operated. Some reviewers have stated they received bursn on their backs and shoulders and it is a result of the condensation from the previous uses that was not allowed to drip out. While it is mentioned in the book to let the water drain from the plug after each use, it is not emphasized or clear at all that this step has to happen to prevent a hot water drip. You just have to put two and two together.
(b) The user has to turn the switches to the off position after the unit shuts off automatically. It's interesting that when the unit shuts off after steaming, the switches are still 'on' . This can be a problem if you plug it in in the on position without water. It is odd to me that now that the switch is 'off', it will no longer allow itself to be turned 'on'.
(c) Users probably should only used distilled or filtered water in the unit. If regular tap water is used, it can cause build-up and scaling in the path of the steam and prevent or reduce steam from coming out. This also happens with irons and fabric steamers, but usually the user manual alerts you. I noticed some people state in their reviews that the steam isn't as effective after multiple uses, and I'm thinking that they may need to descale their units with vinegar and then only use distilled or filtered water.
I have contacted Secura and the Amazon vendor today and I'm requesting a full refund. I don't think I want another unit since it appears that the design and building of these units are just poor quality overall.
Now I need to go back and tell all my friends about my problems after having been so excited initially.
I ordered my Secura Steamer Wednesday, August 15th and it arrived by UPS on Friday, August 17th. So I don't need to tell you how ecstatic I was to have received my steamer so quickly, especially since I used the free-shipping option (and I'm not a prime member by the way).
When I received my order I slowly and carefully opened the box--trying to be as CAREFUL as possible, since I read so many reviews of people getting cracked hoods. Thankfully my hood was not cracked. ~However, on a side note: when I finished trying out my steamer I re-packed it steamer back in the box but decided not to rest the base in the hood (which is how it originally came).
I read through all 9 pages of the instruction booklet to ensure I correctly set up the steamer. The instructions are limited but the pictures help.
After following the instructions as closely as possible I was able to start my steamer. When I turned both switches to the on position I heard a beep-sound, this was to tell me the unit is on.
After 3 mins the water started boiling and the steam started to come through the hood. The unit worked just fine. After 17 mins the unit beeped and automatically shut-off. I think the unit lasted for 17 mins because I didn't fill the reservoir completely to the max line. I was also happy to know that the unit automatically shuts-off something I had not read in any of the other reviews.
I did notice a strong smell of plastic when the water began boiling and the steam started to come through the hood. Hopefully this smell is only with the first use.
Also, It is important to mention that when the unit automatically shut off I still had to turn the switches to the off-position. Be mindful of this because this can cause damage to the unit if you plug it in before adding water to the reservoir.
By the way, as you may already know from reading the other reviews, you will need an adjustable chair or table for this unit because the unit itself cannot be adjusted.
Hope this helps.
I'm looking forward to using my steamer again.
Satisfied Customer.
(UPDATE October 17, 2012)
I have been using the steamer for two months now and I am still very impressed! I use my steamer on a weekly basis and it is still going strong. I read a few reviews with people complaining that their steamer stopped working. Luckily, I have not had this problem (Knocking on wood)!
In my previous review I commented on the strong smell of plastic that I noticed when first using the steamer, well I have not noticed this smell since that first time.
Overall, I am still happy with my purchase and recommend this to anyone looking for a good, inexpensive steamer. The steamer leaves my hair super soft and very manageable. I don't know how I was living without this item!
NOTE~ I have yet to use the facial steamer--so I can't speak to this component.
I hope this helps other shoppers.
(UPDATE July 11, 2013)
I have been using the steamer now for almost a year (weekly or sometimes bi-weekly). In April (2013) I noticed that the light inside the main unit was flickering on and off while the unit was running. I emailed the company and received a response by the next day asking me for my order number and my mailing address. I received a new steamer from Secura two weeks after our email correspondence. I was very happy with the customer service provided. It is now 2 months later and my steamer is still going strong without any problems. Thank You Secura for standing behind your product and for hassle-free customer service!
1-The steamer does not steam your hair in the back of your head
2If your hair is past your ears the steam will not reach
3The head will not adjust to your higth
4The steamer just last 13 minutes until you need to refill the water again
Unfortunally I went on vacation and my 30 days for refund were over.

I've bought this wick or filter from other merchants and they were different from original and did not work very well. The ones I just purchased are working just fine, like the wicks that came with the humidifier when it was new. The wick satuates very quickly which means the humidifier is not running all the time because it obtains the humidity level it is set for.Tuesday, February 11, 2014
Buy Serene House - Donut Black - Ultrasonic Scentilizer Aromatherapy
As per the instructions, the effect is best with room temp water. With that said, the effect is quite nice, and the music is soothing. The aromatheray strength is dependent on the oil used and the amount, however, can be effective. The reason for four stars is no remote. You plug a small hole with a device provided to turn off the musice. THe power and music holes are recessed and somewhat hard to reach. THe inside white water container has a max fill line which is worthless. This is due to it being white also and virtually invisible. It would have made sense to make the max line more visible. I have read reviews complaining it is a high maintenecnce devise. This is not any harder to take care of than washing a cereal bowl. I would recommend this, it just has a couple quirks as noted.

Purchased this as my first "real" humidor. Finish and built is nice. One problem was that the hygrometer it came with didn't work. I followed the instructions on how to calibrate it but the needle never moved and it seemed pretty cheaply-made overall. It would also be nice if this came with a cedar divider or two to separate your collection. Otherwise, a good humidor for the price, especially as someone's first.

I bought this product as a gift for my daughter in law. When she opened it the piece holding the middle plate was missing. I have been trying to get the piece replaced, but have found the company has refused to do so, due to the product being shipped more than thirty days prior to the request for a replacement part. The part should not cost them more than a quarter, but they refuse to work with me on a replacement. Just a reminder, if you buy this product from this company, open the box and ensure all the pieces are available before your thirty days are up. If you can buy a similiar product from another distributor, I would strongly suggest you do so.

I bought this to put in my office at work, only used it during the work day (8hrs x5 days/week), using clean drinking water. I had one of these about 10 years ago (different brand, I'm sure of it, but same basic design) and it lasted for about 6 years in my home with near constant use until I broke the bowl in a move. The ionizing part on this one appears cheap...the ceramic looks to be 'plated' on versus having an actual ceramic 'wafer'. When this one stopped working, I noticed the ceramic had flaked away, basically rendering it useless for its intended purpose. I would go with a higher-rated model if you're interested in one of these. I'll probably seek out and buy a better ionizer to use in this one as I definitely notice a difference in my well-being with this neutralizing the static air, particulates, and most importantly, EMF generated by two computers and 3 screens in my office.Best Deals for Floor Mist Fountain- Green
