This Humidifier is so much better than the fancy one by sharper image that I had and then returned;

1. It only has one tank to fill (1.6 gallon capacity). It was a pain to have to fill each of the two tanks on the Sharper Image one.

2. It actually has a humidistat control. The more expensive(way more) sharper image one did not.

3. It has a built-in ionizer. (I don't use it, but still)

4. PRICE; Other fancier looking humidifiers will cost way more and have way less features.

5. The tank has a pretty big opening to pour water in. This makes it easier to fill. I also like that it will stand up on a flat surface while refilling it.

My only gripes:

1. Just to make it clear, power consumption is 45W. I wish Optimus would have printed that in the manual or on the box instead of me having to look on the underside of the unit's base for this piece of info. I'm not complaining about how much power it takes; just make the information easier to find, Optimus.

2. The humidistat control doesn't show what relative humidity % you have it set at. You kinda have to guess or use a hygrometer to know for sure. If it had a digital readout on the Humidistat, this would be 5 stars for sure. This is not really a complaint for me, but just a way they could make the product even better.

Overall this is a good one because it has a decent sized water tank and will keep the humidity at a constant level without having to fiddle with the dials constantly. It is pretty much set it and forget it except for refilling it with water of course. A little tip: use reverse osmosis or distilled water in it and you'll probably rarely, if ever, have to clean it.

I tried the WalMart and Walgreens humidifiers but the seals didn't work and you have to buy the fiber filters which fall apart in a couplt of months. The cost was about $30 but they just weren't working well. I tried the Optimus 2 gallon and I liked the fact that there is no filter required, it is easy to fill, and it has adjustable humidity flow. It is a lot quieter too. It costs $50. I was very pleased, so I bought another one for my son.

I received this item on the 11th of February. From the moment I turned it on it worked perfectly. The unit makes litterally no noise. The output is perfect for a medium sized room. It even has an ionizer built in. The comfort since its activation in the room is 10 fold. We do not wake up with dry lips or mouth. It's easier to breathe. Overall I would highly recommend this humidifer. For the quality and price its a steal.

We live in Colorado and the air can get pretty dry at elevation during the winter months. I bought this unit for my nightstand based on the positive reviews and because the description says "Extremely quiet operation no bubbling or gurgling sounds". That's pretty important with it a couple of feet from my head all night. Well, sorry, that representation of quietness just isn't true in my experience. The fan that propels the mist is noisy and sounds like the bearings are bad. To adjust the mist output, you use the left hand white knob. Anything above two thirds setting will "boil" the water above the ultrasonic transducer. You can see it splashing about in the column that goes through the tank. On full setting, you have your own miniature shooting fountain and yes, you can definitely hear it.

If your eyesight isn't what it used to be you'll probably be unhappy with the black on dark gray control panel labeling. You'll also likely be annoyed by the white dome on top that just lays on the tank. It will probably roll off the table during refill or fall off while you're carrying the tank to the sink. I almost stepped on mine and I don't want to think about how hard it would be to replace.

I own a Bionaire BUL2612 that has been getting a lot of use in our family room (see http://www.amazon.com/Bionaire-BUL2612-Cool-Mist-Humidifier/dp/B009SLG8Q2/ref=sr_1_4) , Compared to it, the Optimus feels cheap and flimsy. The Bionaire is also extremely quiet even when operating on the highest output setting.

Amazon has great return service and unfortunately, I will be using it to send back the Optimus U-31005.

Great Personal Humidifier with a lot more features than other Personal Humidifiers in the market. This humidifier is small enough to travel with or to have it in smaller spaces (my office cube..) and has lot of cool settings too. The cycle on/off feature lets you set the humidifier to switch on and off in intervals, it has 5 different output settings, a night light that can be switched on and off. The alarm function is need but not necessarily needed. When the water reservoir is empty the humidifier switches off. The display has blue backlight which switches off after a while so it will not disturb the sleep.

I would definitely recommend it to friends or even give it as gift.

Good little humidifier on high it only lasts about 4-6 hours so you will have to fill it twice to last a whole work day (8-9 hours). Wish it had a bigger tank for this reason but seems to do the job.

This has a very small footprint, so it won't take up a lot fo space if you keep it on your desk, like I do. The water tank is about as spillproof as it possibly could be, too, so no worries about dripping all over electronics or important paperwork. There are also LEDs that illuminate the tank in a nice, bright, cheery blue so if you've buying this for a child, it can double as a night-light (there are three light settings: clock face only, all lights, and no lights at all).

Though the tank is fairly small, it holds (just) enough for a full night's sleep plus you can set an on/off timer via the clock.

The only drawback in my opinion, is that the "directional nozzel" really _isn't_ especially directional the mist tends to just go straight up, regardless of where you point it. Still, that's an extremely minor issue.

All in all, I am quite pleased with my purchase.

I know it is titled cool mist, but why does it have to bee blowing our cool air in the winter. Sigh. That is not really a product flaw. However, I have to refill it twice a day and it is very, very loud, especailly if you have it on the high setting. My husband prefers I turn it off when we are in the room, and then the humidity drops, fast. Our bedroom is 200 square feet and it humidifies it fine, but in any larger rooms it doesn't work. Also, don;t spend more that $39.99 on this. Some sellers are trying to rip you off. I got mine at Target.

We have had this sentsitizer for about a year, use it daily. During a cleaning, the glass dome fell into the sink and cracked in half. I have never written an online review, but I feel so strongly about this awesome bassinet that I just need to share it. My first two babies had slight reflux (most babies do, I think) and slept better on an incline, but always ended up sliding down to the bottom when I put their beds on an incline. So when I was pregnant with my third (and final!) baby, I was so excited to find this bassinet and bought it, even though I already had another one. What a good decision! My daughter slept so well from the very first night home, and I'm positive that the bassinet was a huge reason. In the beginning I didn't need to use the straps because the sling kinda cradles the baby (which also helps with sleeping), and then when she got a little bigger I just swaddled her on the top only so that I could still use the straps on the bottom. When I was done with the bassinet (around 10 weeks), I lent it to a friend, and now we both refer to it as the "magical bassinet", because our babies slept so well in it. It was easy to put together, and I have had no issues with quality. Of course this is not an heirloom quality fancy wooden bassinet, but that's not what your baby needs for a good night's sleep!

Purchased this Bassinet back at the end of January. Little guy came along at the end of February and we have been using it every night since. Its great to have next to the bed and he appears to like it quite well too. The vibrate unit with sound and light is fabulous... until it starts to break. The vibrate on ours has now begun to rattle and scrape when its starting and stopping, not good when trying to keep the sound down as the little guy is going to sleep. Called Kolcraft regarding this as it is still well within the 1 year warranty to get a "We're sorry but that unit has been discontinued and we have no vibrate units to send out". No other options available and they do not want to take this any further than that.

That said, Bassinet is fantastic but the electronics accessory is crap and the companies Customer Service is about the same. I would not recommend Kolcraft and will not be purchasing another item from their company, this includes any mattresses and their "Jeep" brand stroller.

I wish I had read the Consumer Reports review before purchasing this. The incline option is a complete waste since I couldn't swaddle my baby in it. The overall structure feels flimsy. Once you take the incline out the vibration feature can't be used as it makes too rickety of a sound. With the canopy on it just seems like a lack of air flow is available to baby. So Im using it without the incline, without the canopy, all for a whopping $130! Not to mention the baby weight limit is only 15lbs! I just ordered the arms reach co sleeper to replace this total dud.

So i bought this bassinet because of the reviews. when i got it home and put it together and it looked great untill we moved it. the wheel fell off then as time went by the whole feels like its going to fall apart. I will say that the best part about it is that the incline sleeper gives me a little peace of mind. also the basket on the bottom sags so dont put much stuff in the basket.

Bought one from a different store, and the unit arrived with the motor in pieces. So I bought this one from amazon. Unit arrived in pristine condition, assembled fine, water level goes down only on high setting. Can't see any cool mist at all coming from the unit. I believe it is just evaporating as the motor is running on high. Humidity levels in the house don't change. Can't return it, because my husband threw out the packaging when he thought it was working. Yeah! My 10 year old unit ran better than this one. Don't waste your time.

Old filter was 2 years old (way too long to wait for replacing). With the new filter, the humidifier goes through a lot more water which is what it is supposed to do.

This is the second unit I have tried and both exhibit the same behavior.

1. Sour smell in the vapor right out of the box. I assume it is not mold/mildew causing the smell since the unit is brand new but it does smell like mold/mildew.

2. The hygrostat is terrible. It ranges from 30 to 90 percent and when I have it set at around 50 percent (just as it clicks on) it never shuts off even when my room got to 60 percent humidity. I fi turn the hygrostat dial just a notch to shut off the vapor (still around the 50 percent area of the dial) the unit does not turn back on even though the room went down to 41 percent humidity. If I didn't know any better, I would say the hygrostat is fake and is just an on/off switch but I know it is just a cheap quality hygrostat that is not at all close to being accurate even with a 10 percent swing of humidity. I have two calibrated hygrometers I use to monitor the room because my guitars require 45-50 percent humidity so that is how I tracked the performance of this unit.

It is a nice design and for the money, the manufacturer should have used better parts instead of cranking up the cost to support the 3 year warranty.

I would not recommend this unit as two units that I tried exhibited the same problems!

Purchased this item to help my family sleep better at night. We have all been plagued with Bronchial Related Asthma since moving to GA in 2011. I have had several different humidifiers up until this point and I must say that we are all very pleased with this product! You can actually tell a difference in a night without it and a night with it!!! The only downfall with this item is that it does seem to produce a white powder deposit on all of my furniture...it's like dust so I just have to dust more often than I would usually prefer. However, that is a small problem with a rather great outcome when using this machine.

I previously had a Sears model and chose this because it was the original supplier. It has all of the features I liked from the earlier Sears: overnight capacity, nice water handling, and quiet operation.

Alas, it has the one real pain I did not like about the Sears the finicky safety switch. This exists on the side of the unit to detect the presence of the water tank before engaging the humidification power. However, one typically has to keep fidgeting with the tank to get the switch to work. On the Sears unit I got so frustrated I simply wired it out of operation.

My old Sears suffered a cracked base and started leaking but only after many hours of service, so I'm willing to give this unit a chance (plus I had leftover filters...). Take the manual's advice and only use distilled water. Mineral buildup can be a real problem to keep at bay if you use tap water.

I didn't know anything about humidifiers or what the big deal was. My 5 year old has had trouble with coughing at night for quite some time, but recently it got to the point where she coughed so violently that she vomited. This happened on two different occasions a week apart, so we headed to the allergist (she is allergic to house dust or dust mites more likely). The allergist told us that a humidifier would "probably help." Now we use an inhaler every night, and run the humidifier on high all night in her room. On just the first night she slept 4 hours past when she usually wakes up coughing. I didn't mean to test it, but tonight something happened with the water properly filling the bottom section, so it didn't start humidifying... sure enough, at 1am she woke up hacking, asking for a bowl. A simple removal and re-set of the tank and the humidifier was going again, and she's fast asleep.

It runs quietly. Tank is easy to fill, and can run on high for a good 10-12 hours.

The only thing I'm not crazy about is the "Wicking Vapor System" ... basically there's a little felted sleeve that fits over the heating element to catch the minerals and gross stuff in the water I guess. You're supposed to rinse the sleeve every time you use it, but even so, mineral deposit builds up around the top of the heating element. I'm using filtered water, and the sleeve is still caked with brownish mineral deposit that you're supposed to rub away with your fingers under running water. Just kind of gross, and a little more maintenance than I expected. I guess it's nice to know that junk isn't in the air though.

UPDATE: The sleeves are available in a 3 pack for $15 here on Amazon. I used 1 sleeve for 3 months, running humidifier daily with filtered water, before replacing. I also manually chipped the mineral deposit off the heating element unplugged of course but it was super thick in places, like 1/4 1/2" thick. I can't imagine it really functioning properly over time if those deposits are not removed.

The humidifier works fine and is easy to take apart and put back together. The tank and base are easy to clean, but not the main unit. THe heating element gets encrusted with junk. I empty the unit and clean the filter pad which encases the heating element but the element itself get encrusted. The instructions say to use distilled water but this would be prohibitively expensive as the thing is on all the time.

I placed an order through Amazon.com for a large Fuente humidifier bag, sold and shipped by Cuenca Cigars, and gave it to my husband as a gift. The package arrived quickly by USPS.

Inside the package (excellent packaging by the way) was a very Large Fuente Humidifier Bag and also a complimentary Cuenca 6x60 "house cigar", which my husband absolutely loved!!!

The Fuente Humidifier is a laminated bag with a resealable zipper and includes Humidipak's patented 2-way humidity control technology to maintain a 70% humidity level. Once the bag is opened, it's good for 6 months with no maintainence! After six months, just throw the bag away. This is perfect for him while he researches Humidors (he is leaning towards Adorini) and also for myself if I decide to purchase some cigars for my husband, I can just place them in this bag until I give it to him for his Birthday, Christmas, etc.

I discovered these bags in a cigar shop while on vacation and bought one. Once you open the bag, it is good for about 6 months before you need a new one. This is how it works: Inside the bag is a small packet that looks much those you get for towelettes. When you open the bag, write the expiration date on the little packet with a permanent pen but do not tear or damage the packet in anyway. The expiration date is six months from the time you first opened the bag. You don't have to write the expiration date but it is handy to do so. And then place your cigars in the bag and zip it up. You're done. I like these because I can travel with the them and they are very low maintenance. No if you are a cigar collector and want to age your cigars, go with a humidor with a digital hygrometer. But if you are like me and smoke a few cigars or enjoy bringing them to events or for others at a party, try this bag. You'll like it.

The medium bag will hold as many as 20 cigars without cramming them in.

This pad works well in my Lennox humidifier. I have used these pads in the past but I used to get it from my HVAC company who charged a premium for the same.
