We have had this humidifier for a while and it works well. The reason I gave it 2 stars is that we have had to stop using it because there is no way to clean the area where the mist comes out. The rest of it can be taken apart, and needs to be cleaned often, but the inside of the fan/electrical area is disgusting on ours now and it is not possible to clean inside that area.

This humidifier has gotten a lot of bad reviews and I am not sure why. It is a bit loud, but I love the white noise. It is definitely not whisper quiet, but is worth getting used to.

I LOVE that it is filter free. Dropping $5 per month on a filter is ridiculous. I use my humidifier year round and it has worked for me for 3 years now. I have used the warm mist and filter kinds in the past and they are a joke. The warm mist always broke after a couple months and the element would always get really gross. The filter kind would always get gross after a couple weeks and you would have to spend a ton on those dumb filters. This humidifier is a simple motor that rotates the spindle. It should never break!

You do have to clean it fairly often. About once a month I soak it in a large bucket of water with a 1/4 cup of bleach. And then about once a week I add a little bit of vinegar to it.

Every humidifier is a balance of various trade-offs. This one chooses to emphasize humidity output. I can run this humidifier for an hour before bedtime on the medium setting until my separate hygrometer indicates between 60 and 65 percent, and then I can turn off the humidifier for the rest of the night. When I awake in the morning, my hygrometer reads between 50 and 55 percent. This works for me.

Just bought from W@$$ M@$t for $39 and will return in the morning! Very loud. Even the low fan setting rattles like a mad snake! The problem is the fan movement causes the container (of which there are three separate parts!!) to bounce against each others hard plastic sides. If you don't mind sleeping next to a jet airplane this is the one for you. Personally I'm going back to Walgreens and their fan-less cool humidifier. Vicks this product disappoints :-(

Sensing current for the GA50 is 4.0 amps which seems acceptable. If your blower draws less than that, loop the common wire from your blower motor (usually the white one) through the bracket twice. The problem with this unit is the load rating. Minimum load is 0.12 amps, which again seems acceptable, but max load rating is 0.42 amps, which seems way too low. If the load rating was advertised, I would have never purchased it. My humidifier has a 0.5 amp transformer, which probably explains why my relay is now stuck in the closed position after running it for several hours. These relays should handle up to a 1.2 amp load if they are to be used with larger humidifiers.

I ordered an Aprilaire #50 Current Sensing Switch for my home, whole-house, dehumidifier system from the Buy It Now Store in Lenexa, Ks. The Aprilaire device was advertized on Amazon; the order, the acknowledgement, and the packing receipt all stated the product was made by "Aprilaire".

The device I received was from a company called "Generalaire". It looks the same as the Aprilaire switch, and may work. But is it NOT what I ordered. It is clearly a lesser-known brand than Aprilaire, and I have no idea whether the quality of the product, etc. are in fact identical.

I have tried to contact the Buy It Now Store and have heard nothing thus far.

Let the buyer beware.

My rating is for the store and the service, NOT the Aprilaire switch about which I know nothing.

The seller contacted me following the review above, and claims that Generalaire and Aprilaire are "the same company" but when asked if they could provide evidence for that, or that the device itself was identical from either company, declined to do so, saying the information must be out on the web somewhere, but that they did not have time to look for it.

Because returning the device was a hassle, I installed it and after two weeks, it seems to be working fine.

Nevertheless, it is not the product I ordered and paid for; and BuyItNow's behavior and response are clearly unacceptable. The company is not entitled to change products without announcement or explanation. The customer should get the product that was ordered. The packing slip was incorrect and misleading.

I used this product to hook-up my humidifier. It worked well as stated in the description. One important note you have to coil the wire you are sensing around the bar to make it work properly.

I bought this to control a 24v damper for an air supply. It work fine initially but then it was in a "continuously closed" position when the 24v power was applied. Testing with an ohmmeter while disconnected it shows open so somehow there's leakage that is sufficient to allow the damper motor to operate. Disappointed since I had to disassemble the Range Hood to get access to the relay and determine what the problem is. Range hood is to a 12' ceiling so it's not an easy fix. Time to figure out another solution I guess since I don't want to have the same problem happen again.

Does just what it said it would. I used it to interlock my humidifier to my AC unit. I put it on the fan commom lead so if the fan goes off it locks out my humidifier. It was easy to install and was made to work with the humidistat and water valve.

I am sure you could use it for other interlocks that use 24 volt AC as well. Just two wires connect in series with the water valve.

UPDATE: 1/4/13 It quit working last week end. I replaced it with a differential pressure switch I got on E bay. Don't know what happened to it but it just stopped working. I would use a differential pressure switch as I have yet to see a DP switch stop working if installed and adjusted correctly.

Cheap BestAir EF2 Kenmore / Emerson MAF2 Replacement Wick Filter

We couldn't find a replacement filter for our humidifier in any store around us, so I went on-line and found these. They work, but they're not exactly like the original. They are about an inch shorter, but they work ok. I'm sure I will keep buying them off the internet.

This filter is NOT for the Essick Air MA-0800 humidifier. It is for the Emerson MA-0800/0 humidifier. Very confusing but not the fault of Amazon or the marketplace seller. The correct filter for the Essick MA-0800 is the MAF2 filter which is about 1-1/2" longer than this one and more money. I leave 3 stars because the filter IS as described and was shipped very quickly. My fault for not understanding the description. BTW, I stretched this filter a little bit and while not perfect, did get it installed. Not correctly, but it would have cost as much to return it as it cost so I went ahead and used it.

This item supposedly is a direct replacement for MAF2 OEM filter but it is about 1-1/4" shorter.

The MAF1 is too long but can easily be cut to proper length with scissors. I recommend getting the MAF1.

Although the order said that this was an Emerson MAF2, the box indicated it was BestAir EF 2 and Kenmore but not Emerson MAF2. The filter itself was much smaller in both dimensions than an MAF2 and totally unacceptable.

I placed an order through Amazon.com for a large Fuente humidifier bag, sold and shipped by Cuenca Cigars, and gave it to my husband as a gift. The package arrived quickly by USPS.

Inside the package (excellent packaging by the way) was a very Large Fuente Humidifier Bag and also a complimentary Cuenca 6x60 "house cigar", which my husband absolutely loved!!!

The Fuente Humidifier is a laminated bag with a resealable zipper and includes Humidipak's patented 2-way humidity control technology to maintain a 70% humidity level. Once the bag is opened, it's good for 6 months with no maintainence! After six months, just throw the bag away. This is perfect for him while he researches Humidors (he is leaning towards Adorini) and also for myself if I decide to purchase some cigars for my husband, I can just place them in this bag until I give it to him for his Birthday, Christmas, etc.

I discovered these bags in a cigar shop while on vacation and bought one. Once you open the bag, it is good for about 6 months before you need a new one. This is how it works: Inside the bag is a small packet that looks much those you get for towelettes. When you open the bag, write the expiration date on the little packet with a permanent pen but do not tear or damage the packet in anyway. The expiration date is six months from the time you first opened the bag. You don't have to write the expiration date but it is handy to do so. And then place your cigars in the bag and zip it up. You're done. I like these because I can travel with the them and they are very low maintenance. No if you are a cigar collector and want to age your cigars, go with a humidor with a digital hygrometer. But if you are like me and smoke a few cigars or enjoy bringing them to events or for others at a party, try this bag. You'll like it.

The medium bag will hold as many as 20 cigars without cramming them in.

I finally broke down and bought a drying rack since I was tired of using doorknobs, doors, and chairs to dry my clothes. I did a fair amount of research and ultimately settled on the Badoogi BDE-V12. After using it several times, I'm ready to declare that I'm very happy with my purchase.

I was first drawn to this product since it was medal, not wood. I had used an accordion style wood rack in the past and it was very poor (i.e., wobbly, not a lot of space). I find this product to be very secure and sturdy. The assembly was very quick and painless. I also loved the price.

Another great feature is the adaptability of this model. Because all four racks have the option of folding down, you can use 1-4 racks at any given time. This is a nice feature if you want to use it for a couple of sweaters or for an entire week's worth of laundry. The wheels make transporting the rack easy, too. It's easy, fold down design makes storage very nice.

I can't think of any cons at this point. Great product.

Highly customizable and very well designed. It fits well in almost every place of my apartment (bathroom, kitchen,...) I like it very much and recommend it.

Some measures that you may find useful:

The lower level has a height of ~14 inch from the ground, so I would say that you have 12 inch height of useful space.

The upper level is separated from the lower ~16 inch, so I would say that you have 15 inch height of useful space (considering that you are using both levels).

If you do not use the lower level, you can fold it and use only the upper level, what would give you ~27 inch height of useful space.

As you can see in the image, you have in the total sixteen spaces, each one measuting 20.5 inch where you can hang your clothes. (8 per level, being 4 in each side).

I have being using this for some weeks now on a daily basis. Easy to put together. I just fold one side down and use the front racks. No need of hangers. I wish it was little taller but work just fine. I move it from 1 room to another with wet clothes diapers on it. It doesn't tip over when I use one side of the rack. I use the other side racks when folded down too. Great drying rack. It is great to dry wipes, dish towels, unpaper towels, dishcloths, rags, diapers... in brief small to medium length clothes. For longer items, just fold down the bottom racks and use the top ones. There is a fair amount of space among the racks up and down and between.

I really like my drying rack. It was easy to assemble and I used it the day I got it! I cloth diaper and I wanted something I could air dry those thick diapers on without running my electric dryer every other day, twice to get the diapers dry. Great buy!

I really like this drying rack and find it to be quite useful and usable! The shortcoming, from my perspective, is exactly that -way too short. I don't know why the manufacturer couldn't have added an extra length of piping to raise the drying racks another foot/foot and a half! So, I like it but it could be far better designed. I do like the rolling base and the fact that it folds up easily. I've not tried to dry a lot of heavy stuff on it, however.

We had a reputable company come out & service our furnace & Aprilaire unit. However, we just found out that they took this part out & NEVER REPLACED IT! How bad is that, to have to go back & take things apart to check & make sure these folks are doing their job!?!?
