Buy 3000 Cigar Humidor Tower - Oak
I had a little bit of problems with Amazon and the company that sells the unit. It took 3 days to communicate the order. It took about a week then to ship. It arrived and I started to set it up. EASY! I wiped it down and put in the humidification unit and two days later it was PERFECT!!! I have had it over a month now and it is wonderful!!

This little device seems to work very well. It is smaller than I had imagined it to be. It does exactly what it says it does and is configurable so that you can set a certain rH as well as a range that it can fall to (or rise to) before the relay kicks on. This helps to keep the relay from kicking on and off every few seconds. It also has a delay feature that would accomplish the same thing I assume, but I have not tried it. It seems accurate, maybe 3 or 4% below my cheap digital hygrometer, but it is calibratable +-5%. It can be set to humidify or dehumidify.
The only difficult thing is hooking it up; you need a 110v power cord hooked into the rear screw terminals to power it. To hook up a device your best bet is to make a small enclosure and put an electrical outlet and the humidistat into it, wire the white wire of a power cable to the outlet and the black wire to one side of the relay terminal then the other side of the relay to the outlet. This is assuming that you are using an appliance with a standard 110v appliance.
I use this for mycology but it would work well for terrariums or attics/crawlspaces too.

Hooked it up and it seems to work as described. It's measured value in the 65-75% range agrees with the reading from my room dehumidifier but reads 8-10% higher than the hygrometer in my weather station. Been using it for the last couple weeks hooked up to an electrostatic humidifier and so far so good.Honest reviews on IMAGE® 110V Digital Air Humidity Control Controller WH8040 Range

Best Elephant Humidifier Deals
We've had no problem with this humidifier and have used it through 2 babies. I like that the cute design doesn't make the nursery look like a hospital. It's nice to be able to adjust the setting as well as being able to shut it off completely without unplugging it. It holds a decent amount of water and we only refill it every few days if we are using it on a high setting all the time (We typically only use this when the little one is congested).
Overall, easy to use, cute design, and functional options.
In short, they are extremely prone to leaking and breaking, and it sucks to have to deal with it.

I purchased this for our infant's room. It was in operation for all of his normal sleep times (approximately 14 hours a day). After three months it began to make a loud noise from the fan (located at the base)that pushes the mist out the top. I tapped it and stopped the noise. Now, the switch has broken. The humidifier was working intermittently for about a week (while the switch remaining in the on position). It is now completely non-functional.Best Deals for Elephant Humidifier
We have bought three of this same humidifier and, every time, it starts to leak. The base of the reservoir is sealed very poorly. On two of our models, the reservoir was leaking from the bottom, where the blue plastic meets the grey plastic. We didn't treat it badly or cause this to happen, they are just made very cheaply. On our other model, the sealer around the cap broke. In short, they are extremely prone to leaking and breaking, and it sucks to have to deal with it.

I got this as a gift for my first child and am so thankful. It works well and runs so quietly you can hardly tell it's on. Extra points for being so cute! I would definitely recommend this product.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Elephant Humidifier
I bought this to replace the sponge bob one that didn't even work. This one worked really well for 5 months. I put it away for a year and took it out to be used. It didint let any mist out instead it leaked from the bottom all over my dresser and ruined it.I find it starnge that the fan is located on the bottom of the humidifier. Vicks makes their fans on the top which make them last longer since the water doesn't go through them. Never buying a crane humidifier again.Saturday, October 18, 2014
Review of Humidifier Tube Xikar - Cigar Drymistat Humidification Tube
It is ok, my husband just bought it as part of a bunch of stuff for his new hobby, cuban cigars.
UPDATE, was reading on the product's website, and they recommended cutting the tube down to size for fitting it in a small carry case. this fixed my problem totally.

After doing a LOT of reading/research on portable humidifiers, i decided on a Holmes unit. Unfortunately, it appears that Holmes is no longer making the large (whole-house) size units any more. There were a few still on Amazon, but one was over $200, not in my budget. This one was more reasonable, but didn't have many reviews, so knew it was a bit of a gamble. But everything else I've read about similar Holmes humidifiers of this size/type were good. The positives and negatives I read on other units seem consistent with this unit.
Positives:
Overall, it seems like a well-built unit, not flimsy. Vapor output is substantial. It does a good job of keeping the first floor of our 2500 sq. ft. home above 50%, and that is with the forced hot air furnace blowing dry, hot air all the time. It holds enough water to run 24 hours non-stop before refilling. Has a built-in humidistat, (not sure of accuracy, but seems close.) Has an indicator light for when it needs re-filled.
Negatives:
Auto-setting is not great. As has been said elsewhere auto mode allows it to cycle on and off when it reaches a desired humidity level. But when it gets there, it cycles on-and-off non-stop. Seems like this would be hard on the motor. But I knew this going into the purchase, and just figured on turning on/off manually (like all our old humidifiers), so this was not a deal-breaker for me. Water tanks are not flat on top, so when you re-fill, you have to help hold them up, or they could fall over and crack. This isn't really that big a deal either, but it could have been more convenient. (Tanks are on the left & right sides of the unit in the photo.)
That's pretty much it. Unit comes with wheels that snap in on the bottom, which seem sturdy. But I've read that people have had these snap off on some units (not on a Holmes, but still made me nervous), so we don't wheel it around.
On other thing to be aware of. The directions say to place this on an interior wall. I believe that's to prevent condensation on a cold exterior wall (or inside the wall?). We didn't have a lot of interior wall space that was free. So, if that's an issue for you, just something to consider.
Overall, despite a couple of minor (for me) issues, I feel like this is a well-made unit that should last for many years. Not a cheap/disposable piece of plastic junk that so many manufacturers are putting out these days. Noise from the unit seems a little louder than on a room-size unit, but we have it a room we don't watch tv in, so that's not an issue for us. On Low, it's not bad at all, but on Medium, it would be distracting, and on High, would really interfere with watching tv. Again, I don't think it's abnormally loud for the size of the unit, just something to be aware of.

We have had this unit for about 6 weeks. It's very easy to operate & move to different locations. It has a great filter indicator which displays when it needs to be changed. The water tanks need to be filled every other day. Cleaning the unit is very easy as well. There is a humidity indicator on the main panel. We do not run the unit during the day so in the morning we can see that the humidity level has risen from the high 40s to well into the 60s. We live in Arizona and it becomes very dry here during the winter season. This QUIET humidifier does the job in keeping sinuses, nasal passages moistened. Our brother-in-law who lives in Denver, Co (very, very dry) had the unit and was very happy with it. Since he is a respiratory therapist we thought that his recommendation and experience was was quite a positive review in our decision to purchase the unit. We were surprised by very negative review. We only use the unit on the constant cycle of 1(lowest cycle) and have not had a problem. We do agree the intermittant cycle would be annoying. We HIGHLY recommended this Holmes unit.Best Deals for Holmes HM3656U Cool Mist Console Humidifier w/ Humidistat, 22w x
Purchased this model about a year ago. When using it in 'automatic' mode, the entire unit cycles (turns on & off) every 1 to 2 seconds. It's annoying & I can't see it lasting very long cycling so often. Called customer service & they said this is how it's supposed to work. Apparently Holmes doesn't know how to make a unit that has a buffer zone in it where it would turn on at say 30% and off at 35% humidity depending on what it's set at.Wednesday, August 13, 2014
Lasko CHF50 Humidifier Filter Reviews
I have no problems with these.
You . . do . . need to wet them before you put them in the carrier, but that is easy.
It turns out that these are low quality humidifier wicks that disintegrated into goo within two months. The whole thing didn't disintegrate, but large patches of it turned to goo -like dissolved paper or whatever the pad is really made out of. The OEM wick worked for almost two years in the same spot in the same house at the same humidifier settings before mineral buildup diminished the humidifier output.
Additionally, these wicks did not fit into the lasko humidifier they were sold for. They are about half an inch out of size in each dimension. If you get them wet, they soften up and can be worked into the wick holder, but they still don't fit well.

If I wrote a review the week I got this wick, I would have written that it was a fine OEM replacement wick and given it a all the stars that went along with that. But a few months later, this is not the case.It turns out that these are low quality humidifier wicks that disintegrated into goo within two months. After getting the humidifier out for another winter season, I discovered the filter/wick in my Lasco 1050 was one of THE WORST i've ever seen. Cat hair, dust and everything else including a ton of nicotine buildup. I went to Amazon.com to try and find a new filter for this humidifier. Did'nt take long at all, I ran upon a couple of dealers right away. They advertised the Lasco CHF50 to fit my machine. Being the condition of my old filter, I bought online. I received the new filter in their timely manner, on time. They packaged the new filter in a large box with air cushions, to protect the product also during shipping. I paid a little more for this filter than the other store had advertised, but the whole process went so smooth. This certain filter also fits other models of Lasco humidifiers. One other thing is that this new filter fits my machine perfectly. All recommondations here. 2 thumbs up. Great product, great humidifier. So, while I was out shopping at Amazon I decided to also purchase a Hunter air purifier, model 30378 for rooms up to 21x19 foot. I recieved this via UPS also as scheduled. I'm running them both at the same time, 24/7, and loving it. With winter being here, all windows closed for the season, I'm very please with what I now call my new air purification system. Really, it's working so efficiently.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Lasko CHF50 Humidifier Filter

The purchase experience was good. It took about a week to get the part and it appears that most of that time it was in transit. This is long but not a big issue.
There was no documentation that indicated that the valve had an input and output (i.e. flow direction). There also wasn't any indication that the valve can be mounted in either a left or right orientation. As it turns out, there is an arrow on the valve that indicates flow. Additionally, there is a screw on the side of the valve that allows it to rotate allowing either left or right mount.
In the end, this is a good product with nice features and better documentation would make this an EXCELLENT product overall.
Bottom line easy to install, stopped the leak problem I had with the original part. What else could you ask for?
This particular product is the transformer. It was a stupid mistake on my part trusting the review and the pictures. Too bad shipping was $9.00, as now it's not worth it to send it back.

I read the reviews about this product. I was concerned about the "Solenoid not included" comment so I email the company. They quickly responded that the solenoid was included. I ordered the product. It does not come with instruction but there are only two wires and an in/out for the water which is marked with an arrow. Hard to screw up! Took me 20 minutes to install mainly because it's hard to reach behind the water heater.Bottom line easy to install, stopped the leak problem I had with the original part. The wick based humidifiers, noise notwithstanding, are far superior to their ultrasonic counterparts due to the effectiveness and precision in controlling true relative humidity. I use vinegar, a cup to enough water to immerse the filter in a bucket not much wider than the filter diameter. The vinegar does away with the brown mineral deposits, and makes it as good and efficient as when new. Never let the water in the tank run out, and these filters, with weekly vinegar treatment, will last up to two months each. When the plastic housing begins to wear out, it is also about time you changed the filter. Folks who gave this product a low rating based on extraneous factors to do with the noise of the main unit should know better. These reviews are about the filter and not the main unit! Also, despite the antimocrobial properties, some mold formation is inevitable in humid environments, so I clean the main unit every few months with basic G, a shaklee product that destroys any mildew or mold residual in the unit, this includes the grille and the fan components.

The filters work fine but once the humidifier itself gets dirty/dusty, it is almost impossible to clean perfectly and therefore the filter indicator always considers that the filter needs to be changed even though it is new.Best Deals for Holmes HWF62 Humidifier Filter
No fault of the filter. Its does its job.. But when you store your humidifier, the filter is usually useless to use again once it dries. It gets out of shape and discolors. Still, I like the filter option and when I purchase through Amazon, I normally buy two as the humidifier does not function without it because the vapors are drawn through the filter.Honest reviews on Holmes HWF62 Humidifier Filter

The plastic housing for the replacement filter disintergrates when washed. When the filter dries, it becomes very hard. This is ineffective as the dial on the humidifier registers that this new replacement needs changing and this filter needs constant changing. The new extra replacement filters (2) that were purchased 6 weeks ago have almost doubled in price since that purchase. The humidifier should be sold with multiple filters and now becomes a bad investment. We do not recommend this purchase.
