Buy 5025 McGraw Edison Humidifier Filter Belt
This is a great picker-upper of the water to bring moisture in the air. My son and his wife have hot-air that gets very dry, so they need this to help stop the static, of which their 4 cats are grateful for, and of course, it makes breathing easier, especially at night. The size is smaller than the original, but, with a little effort they got it on. The unit is about 30 years old and hasn't been used for about 25 years. Glad I didn't throw it out when I bought our house that has steam heat. +JMJ+

Buy WF2010 Bionaire Humidifier Wick Filter
Have own the bionaire humidifier for a long time and then suddenly could not find the filter. Contacted the company and they suggested contacting amazon. They had the filter. The only complaint is the item is very costly considering what I paid for the humidifier. The company that originally had the humidifier suggested purchasing a new humidifier that they carry. Before, reordering new filters I think I will considering getting a new humidifier.

It's a nice, small-footprint humidifier. I've never used the diffuser (which is just a tiny cup in the "grill"--nothing special), but it works fine as a basic humidifier. It's very easy to clean, and difficult to tip over accidentally. There are just two drawbacks: it sounds like those $15 "boiler" humidifiers that you can pick up at a drugstore, and you have to refill it twice a day if you're running it 24-7. The blue light is a bit bright, but you turn it to the wall and problem solved. It's a good little unit.
I got this unit used (like new) at a very good price. For the price I paid, I'd say it's an excellent buy. I've never owned a humidifier before, but I'm a picky consumer and it simply works well. At the full 'new' price, though, it may not be the best bang for your buck.
I was most concerned about noise and leakage. This unit does make some soft noise.. the bubbling noise. Fortunately, the noise it makes blends into the background nicely so it is unlikely to disturb your sleep. It's quite a pleasant sound, actually, like a light rainfall. I also haven't seen any leakage yet.
Like the other reviewer said, the power light is pretty bright, so you might want to tape over it or something. The 2-hr timer is really useful when you don't want it running til it goes dry. The auto-shutoff seems to work properly -it turns off and an indicator light goes on when the tank is low. Note that this unit only has one power level.. you can't adjust the vapor output.
It has an attractive appearance.. minimalistic and unassuming. The only thing that bothers me is that it's pretty much 100% plastic, but that's probably the case with most small humidifiers. I do smell something which I assume is the plastic.. though I'm hoping the scent will diminish with use.
Pros: The tank holds enough water to get through the night. Low water indicator and water level window are nice features. The tank is about impossible to spill while filling and replacing. My wife likes the diffuser. The timer feature is nice, though I do not use it often.
Cons: The blue light illuminating the power switch is a bit annoying though. It's very bright and not cool when you are trying to sleep. I turned it to face the wall.

Best Deals for SPT Warm-Mist Humidifier with Fragrance Oil Diffuser
I wanted something to use at night and I needed it to have a timer. After using this humidifier I have to say it is very nice. It is very easy to refill, easy to clean and it just works good. I like the sound it makes boiling the water and it helps me fall sleep. I use the diffuser and add some oil in the cup which works very well. Over all this is a great machine and works the way it should.Honest reviews on SPT Warm-Mist Humidifier with Fragrance Oil Diffuser
This produces a nice warm mist. It's very quiet and easy to fill/operate. The only thing I'd improve is to have a cool water setting as for the winter this is great but it does warm the room and is too much for the summer. We have a separate humidifier for the winter (which by comparison is much louder and heavier and harder to keep clean). For a cool weather humidifier, 5 stars.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for SPT Warm-Mist Humidifier with Fragrance Oil Diffuser

I needed the temperature in my baby's room to stay the same even though we're in a small apartment. This really did the trick. It looks great is very compact compared to other ugly large heater humidifiers AND it is both a heater and humidifier so even when it warms up in there it does feel so dry. It also has a tip over feature, which or safety is great. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is I wish you could operate the humidifer separate from the heater but you can't. Can't have it all I guess. Oh, and we have a modern looking apartment and this fits right in!
On the plus side, the heater seems to fire up quickly and the fan is very, very quiet---almost imperceptible.
I've concluded that getting separate humidifier and heater is probably a better way to go.

We bought this because of the humidifier feature. However, the humidifier is very hard to fill (You have to pour it in at a trickle), and the reservoir is tiny. Fortunately, neither of these things are really a problem because it takes weeks to even produce enough humidity to go through that tiny amount of water. I think you could literally just leave out a glass of water and it would evaporate faster than what this thing puts out. DON'T waste your money buying this. The heater is totally adequate, but you can find one just as good without the humidifier for one third the price. Buy a separate heater and humidifier and you'll still come out ahead and you'll have a humidifier that actually works. Seriously. I never take the time to write reviews, but this thing is a joke. Save your money!Best Deals for SPT SH-1505 Ceramic Heater with Humidifier
I bought this heater for my husband who suffers from arthritis. He likes is extra hot in the room so we were using a space heater at night. However he started getting bad nose bleeds from the hot dry air. The SPT SH-1505 Ceramic Heater with Humidifier has stopped the nose bleeds altogether. I can feel the humidy in the room and the heater works well to heat a room. I would recommend this product.Honest reviews on SPT SH-1505 Ceramic Heater with Humidifier
As others have noted, filling the humidifier reservoir is confounding because one must poor so slowly. Plus, humidifier consumes full reservoir of water on low setting if run overnight. Moisture/humidity not appreciably better. "Thermostat" is nothing more than a manual switch which allows high/low/off settings. On the plus side, the heater seems to fire up quickly and the fan is very, very quiet---almost imperceptible.
I've concluded that getting separate humidifier and heater is probably a better way to go.

The heater works real good, but the heater has to run for the humidifier to work. So can't run it on high as it will shut off, but found out on low it runs all the time so I run it on low to get heat and humidity.Wes

Reviews of Lasko FIlter Fits Natural Cascade Filter, Model 1130,1140
I've had my LASKO humidifier for years. I've had to replace the pump motor which we only about $35. The filters have always been consistently high quality and I'm glad to see they didn't discontinue them to force me Into buying a new humidifier. That's what builds loyally!Works as it should. No complaints. Seems to be well built and should last as long as the other ones on the market.

Reviews of Lasko 1115 3-Gallon Evaporative Recirculating Humidifier
I have been through about 4-5 humidifiers in the last couple of years. My main complaints were noise (especially the boiling sound of the warm mist types), dirtiness after a few days of operation, and difficulty cleaning units. I decided to take another gamble with this humidifier--and it really paid off. I was afraid that the recirculating feature would be just another gimmick, but I can certainly tell the difference.
Pros:
Easy to fill
Easy to clean
Weekly cleanings are fine--could probably even go longer
The machine doesn't seem to get very dirty--recirculating water keeps deposits from forming
Humidifies the air well
Quiet operation (just the sound of the fan)
Long filter life
Cons:
Can't really think of any other than I can't buy the filters locally
I highly recommend this product!
Cons: A bit loud, seems to need filling a lot even on the lowest setting (but very easy fill can bring pitcher to it rather than drag tank to the sink and lug back), and above all, big and ugly my husband calls it an aircraft carrier, I think it's more like a urinal. But really, those are not deal breakers to me. I'm just happy to find something that works like it's supposed to! yay!
This thing can add a lot of humidity in a relatively short period of time. It had no problem maintaining 50-60% humidity on the medium setting in our 1800 sq ft home.
The front fill panel makes it super easy to grab your plant watering can and add a half gallon or so as needed. This is good because even on medium it can empty the resevoir in less than 24 hours.
Easy to clean/maintain and the Lasko filters are cheaper than most
The Nuetral's:
As with most humidifiers the "high" setting is too loud to reasonably use unless you are quickly trying to add humidity while your not home.
As with most humidifiers the 3 gallon rating is the max moisture it can add to the air in a 24 hour period. It only holds 1.75 so you have to fill relatively often in the winter when the heater is constantly working against you.
The Con's:
This unit does not have Auto-shutoff. It uses a pump to keep the filter moist and generally keep the water moving to help prevent mold/bacteria. This is great, but if you let it run dry the pump is toast.
If you over-fill it the fan motor is toast and I was never able to find the fill line that the manual indicates the unit has so I probably tended to underfill it.
The fill door, while very convenient, has a major design flaw. If you fill it while it's running (and I always did...the manual says not to, but i'm sure everybody does) there is a likelyhood that some water from the running pump will trickle out and down the side while you are filling. This seems minor, but once that trickle starts its like starting a siphon...it just keeps going until it's empty. Twice my unit slowly emptied itself onto the floor over the course of several hours. The first time I noticed and shut it off...the 2nd time was overnight and once it ran out of water the pump burnt out.
I'd consider 18 months of near constant use pretty reasonable for a $45 product so I gave 3 stars despite the design flaws...just keep an eye on it.
Then I got smart and contacted the manufacturer @ 1-800-233-0268. Described my problem, and discovered a missing part. They sent me a plastic insert that fits onto a lower track just inside the front creme panel. The insert has a groove that slides over this inside track. Do not try to attach to the clear panel. The clear panel is designed to press against it when closed. Finally, Problem solved.

This humidifier worked great...when it worked properly. It has sprung a leak on us a couple times, luckily we noticed it as soon as we turned it on. Last night, we were not so lucky and about an hour after we had turned it on, I noticed the carpet all around it was SOAKED. There is a section underneath the refill window where two pieces of plastic come together...that is where the water would leak from. It was not every time we ran it, but after last night and it soaking our carpet, it is being returned! It was nice when it worked, especially nice feature to refill it from the top, but we clearly received a defective one! I have also wondered from the beginning whether we received a 'new' or returned humidifier...filter was not nice and white/clean!Best Deals for Lasko 1115 3-Gallon Evaporative Recirculating Humidifier
I've had a lot of crappy humidifiers in all price ranges, but this one seems to do what it's supposed to do. It's been on constantly now for a month, and seems to be pumping out ample humidity without dampening a single thing around it or emitting scary white dust. Amazing! The replacement filters are also cheap, which is great.Cons: A bit loud, seems to need filling a lot even on the lowest setting (but very easy fill can bring pitcher to it rather than drag tank to the sink and lug back), and above all, big and ugly my husband calls it an aircraft carrier, I think it's more like a urinal. I liked the idea of an Evaporative Recirculating Humidifier. Of course, the 3 Gallon capacity is bull squat. Ad doesn't mention filling it twice a day. Had same Leak Problem as others. Worked great, filter a great idea, Then: The great leak on my carpet. I thought I screwed up and became extremely diligent in following all the rules. Don't overfill, Be sure to turn off unit before filling, Keep unit level. Worked fine, and then the same thing. It Leaked.Really liked the unit and didn't want the hassle of returning the unit. SOLVED the Problem by placing the Unit inside of a Litter Pan. Got one from Big Lots for 6.00, measures about 14 x 17 X 4" High. The Unit perfectly. Now, if it leaks again, the water stays inside the Litter pan. Then I got smart and contacted the manufacturer @ 1-800-233-0268. Described my problem, and discovered a missing part.
