The mist system performed ok. The negatives are that the misting is highly dependent on the pressure of the compressed air line. Typical compressor units operate between 90psi and 120psi. When the mist system is set to spray uniformly at 120psi, the spray changes appreciably as the pressure drops to 90psi. If set for 90psi, the spray is much too strong at 120psi. and, an intermediate setting does not perform well at either the low or high pressure. the system only performs well at the specific pressure set during adjustment.
I also purchased the misting fluid as a package with the misting system. I found that this fluid, being water based, caused appreciable rusting on steel surfaces, whether the machine or the machined part. Unless I immediately cleaned the machine and the part at the completion of my work, I found rust starting the very next day. I prefer oil based cooling systems much better since most of my work is steel based. With non-ferrous metals this cooling fluid would perform satisfactorily but it would still greatly effect the ferrous surfaces of any machine.
I much prefer systems that deliver the coolant in a steady stream or as a bath, the misting is just too difficult to contain within the small work environment of a lathe or mill tool.
The pluses are that the vendor shipped quickly and that the components of the system are well made.
I would not recommend this system for single machines such as 10x42 inch lathes or similar milling machines.

Cheap Satechi USB Portable Amazing Humidifier
My wife and I both suffer during the winter months here in Ohio it gets incredibly dry and with a heater going it can become rather unpleasant. Even with lotion and extra-soft tissues, raw noses are almost inevitable. It was for this reason that I accepted Satechi's offer of a sample of this portable humidifier. *Note: see update at the end of the review!
OVERVIEW
Powered by a mini USB cable (included) this small humidifier can be attached to a standard small water bottle and with the included filters, it shoots out a constant jet of mist. By making this USB-powered, it can be used almost anywhere from your bedside to your car. Heck, I plugged it in to a portable USB battery pack and it worked just fine. It also has a blue LED "mood light" whether this is a pro or a con will be subjective to personal tastes.
WHAT I LIKE
Simple and effective.
Can be used with cold water as a mister on hot days
Two filters included
Can be used for aromatherapy (couple of drops of essential oils in the water)
Has a limited range, but works for one person very nicely
Relatively inexpensive compared to other options
Automatic shut-off after 8 hours
WHAT I DON'T LIKE
I had trouble finding a water bottle that it would fit properly on. Underneath it has threads to screw down as a cap would, but so far I have found that am off-brand water bottle is the only one that it works with (tried five including the latter). Many water-bottles are using a plastic-saving, earth-friendly design, and the humidifier will only sit on top of these, NOT secure at all.
USB Cable was a tad short for safe use
LED light has no off-switch (i.e. you're stuck with the "mood lighting")
Water bottles aren't exactly the most sturdy of things. Spills are a concern.
TO MAKE THIS A FIVE-STAR PRODUCT
I really think that a water container should be included with this product, even if it meant the price going up a few dollars. I do NOT feel safe with this resting on top of bottles without screwing down, and as I mentioned, it's getting hard to find the right bottles. On top of issues with fitting, water bottles are not known for their upright abilities having this near a phone or computer is simply too much of a risk. I have added an image in the Customer Images section showing a simple hard-plastic add-on that would honestly take this from good to great!
OVERALL
This is a great piece of tech, and pretty reasonably priced. Used with essential oils, it is my new favorite scent diffuser, and it definitely puts out enough vapor for one person to get decent relief from those dry winter months. Given the design issues I mentioned, I would probably rate this at around 3.75/5, however I have rounded up to four stars. With the extra add-on of a hard plastic receptacle for water, this would be a five-star product, no questions asked.
Make sure you pick up some extra filters, and make sure they're jammed in there tightly! I though mine was defective until I gave the filter an extra shove. Recommended with a few reservations.

Update: well, I was pleasantly surprised to see that Satechi's customer service had read my review in full and responded to some of the points I mentioned!
1) Apparently Evian is the best brand for a secure fit. This is definitely good to know, and I will give it a shot next time I go to the store.
2) My suggestion for a hard plastic water receptacle was forwarded to a higher up for consideration, this was very nice to hear!
Though this doesn't change my star rating (at least, not yet) it IS very nice to see a company that listens for a change!

Satechi's USB Portable Humidifier provides a soothing and relaxing environment wherever you are. It can be used in your home, your car, your office anywhere there is a USB plug. That means an external battery can power this if you are camping!
It is a cold humidifier so it cools instead of heats and it turns off after eight hours automatically. I use it in the bedroom with a small solution of Pine Scent and then plug the USB into a standard Apple DC outlet adapter. I just don't have a computer in my bedroom. No big deal. Even a battery would work with a USB output.
You can tell that it is working by looking inside the cap for a light blue light. It is very hard to see without looking inside. Any bottle can be used, but one that is a little deeper than the 3-inch wick is preferred and a bottle with a screw cap, such as on any standard hiking/biking water bottle will work best. Plus, the size is small so you can carry it anywhere.
I think it's a bit pricey, but the convenience is great. It comes with two 3-inch wicks, so you'd have to stock up from the company when you run out. I wish I could tell you how long they last, but they seem fairly sturdy. Cleaning the nozzle is easy with a little vinegar solution. I enjoy this at night with the aroma scent. I can go right to sleep. Product supplied by manufacturer for an honest review.
First, we feel what other people wrote in reviews is correct, you need to use Evian water bottles. We tried just about every other regular water bottle and it wouldn't fit. Second, Evian or distilled water works best with the device. When we tried regular tap water in the Evian bottle, the diffuser started slowing down considerably and at times, just stopped. We cleaned the top diffuser area with some Acetone and that worked well to remove build-up's. We ultimately tried filtered water from our refrigerator's built-in/replaceable water filter and that worked reasonably well, but not as good as straight Evian water.
The device has a built-in timer and automatically shuts off after 8 hours (we think); you have to unplug the USB power cable in order to restart it or put this device on a power switch.
Our biggest concern is filters. It comes with two filters and the interval for filter replacement is something like two months. I have yet to find third-party sites, including Amazon.com, where I can buy replacement filters and at a decent price.
Overall, I would not buy this for day to day use. We are switching back to our regular room size humidifier and using this device for traveling (hotels) only.
I love cool and innovative new products and the Satechi USB Portable Humidifier definitely fits the bill. Using an USB power source through a computer, plug, or even an external power bank you can help alleviate the dryness of a room. As long as you not expecting miracles the Satechi USB Portable Humidifier is a great device... especially for travel and the dreaded ultra-dry hotel rooms.

Buy AC-818 Duracraft Humidifier Wick Filter (3 Pack)
Great product; great price; great supplier! It was here almost immediately after I hit place order! It fits my duracraft humidifier perfectly. I have been running the humidifier non-stop for over a month and this filter works great.
They are supposed to be the same as the Kenmore #14804 natural moisture pads. The only problem is that they are about 1/2 inch too long on the one side. I just trimmed it down with scissors and everything was fine. The cutting was not, in my opinion, enough to lower the rating for this item.
Bought these from Filters-now and they shipped super fast.

Buy 15508 Sears Kenmore Humidifier Wick Filter
The word "Sears Kenmore" used in the advertisement led me to order this filter for my "Sears Kenmore" Humidifyer. The trouble was that during operation I noticed the filter emitted an intense unpleasant odor. I would describe the odor as "industrial / chemical" that permeated my entire living area withing a short time. I decided that I did not want to breath this unknown, exotic odor all day and during the night in my sleep. Therefore I turned off my Sears Kenmore Humidifyer, removed the filter and eventually replaced it with an odor-free filter that was packaged inside a gemuine Sears/Kemmore box and sold at the nearest Sears Store. There is no more odor during operation.

The wick does not absorb water properly from the reservoir and humidifies minimally. On my Kenmore model, a "Check Filter" warning comes on even after running for several days. If one removes the cover and feels the wick, it is barely damp. The wicking material is clearly defective or just incorrect. The product is worthless. My water has been treated and corrected for acidity so there are no issues with mineral deposits or things like that. The product is OK. It is the same height and length of a regular Sears filter, but it is much thinner. It means that we must change it more often than a regular Sears filter. After returning a much more expensive product with all of the bells and whistles and a similar product by Evenflo, I did a lot of research on which playard would be best for us. We had no use for the changing tables attached to many of them, and wanted one that would allow us to pack the bassinet into the carry bag for travel. Many of them do not allow you to do this. This one is serving us quite well. It is easy to put up and take down--much easier than the Evenflo or Baby Trend ones. The bassinet just snaps on the sides and doesn't require a lot of metal bars, like others do. There are also buttons on each side to release them for folding, which I find easier than the things you have to push from underneath and can't even see. I would only go with Graco. Also, the padding is a bit softer than these other brands. It's still not really comfortable for our baby, but I just put a blanket between the pad and the sheet, and he seems to sleep fine. This is where I take off a star. I don't know why manufacturers think that a baby wants to sleep on a piece of cardboard. Overall, I have no complaints, and find this product to be well worth the price.

Three pack and plays from different companies. This one is by FAR the better one. Bonus: It cost the least. Pros: easy to setup, easy to pack up, very sturdy, fairly light and seemingly the most comfortable. We aren't positive if we want our baby to sleep with us for the first little while, which is why we got this pack n play with the built in bassinet. We don't need a full changing table or any of the other bells and whistles the more expensive pack n plays come with, so this was just what we needed. It's small enough to fit through our doors and easy to move around as it has two wheels on one side of the unit. It was super easy to set up. I am 9 months pregnant and I assembled it all by myself. It is great, and I'm so happy with our purchase. The price is sweet too! This will get plenty of use after our baby is big enough to play IN it too!**update 8 months later**
Our baby slept in this bassinet for the first 4 months of her life. She loved it and so did we. It was great having her so close by and the bassinet isn't so huge that it takes up a ton of room. Also easy to set up and put away. Love this product and will be using it again with our next one!

These Graco Pack N Plays are great. We just bought our 2nd and 3rd ones as grandparents. This newer model is much easier to set up and much easier to take apart with the big release buttons on each of the 4 sides. Don't tell the younger generation but these are very much like the playpens of years ago ... yes, I know ... playpens are out these days as this generation of parents wants to give their kids freedom to move around and go where they want :-) Back to the product: the value for the price is outstanding. These Pack N Plays seem to last forever. Graco makes great products, but this one was not up to par. The main problem was that this particular Pack 'n Play doesn't have the four corner tabs that the floor sort of snaps into. When our very petite daughter would stand at the edge, her weight would cause the floor to slip and she would slowly drop a few inches down. Life threatening? No. But it was not very stable. I assumed all Pack n' Play products had the corner tabs that make for a secure floor. We ended up purchasing another Graco model and it has been perfect.Thursday, January 23, 2014

Austin Air also makes the same unit but with a HEPA filter which supposedly targets different particles; we've tried both and can't tell the difference between them. Either way we can tell the difference when we shut it off for a while.

Thank your for having replacement filters for our 1 year old humidifier, rather than have to buy a new humidifier!
