The mist system performed ok. The negatives are that the misting is highly dependent on the pressure of the compressed air line. Typical compressor units operate between 90psi and 120psi. When the mist system is set to spray uniformly at 120psi, the spray changes appreciably as the pressure drops to 90psi. If set for 90psi, the spray is much too strong at 120psi. and, an intermediate setting does not perform well at either the low or high pressure. the system only performs well at the specific pressure set during adjustment.

I also purchased the misting fluid as a package with the misting system. I found that this fluid, being water based, caused appreciable rusting on steel surfaces, whether the machine or the machined part. Unless I immediately cleaned the machine and the part at the completion of my work, I found rust starting the very next day. I prefer oil based cooling systems much better since most of my work is steel based. With non-ferrous metals this cooling fluid would perform satisfactorily but it would still greatly effect the ferrous surfaces of any machine.

I much prefer systems that deliver the coolant in a steady stream or as a bath, the misting is just too difficult to contain within the small work environment of a lathe or mill tool.

The pluses are that the vendor shipped quickly and that the components of the system are well made.

I would not recommend this system for single machines such as 10x42 inch lathes or similar milling machines.

Went looking for the filter that would fit my General humidifier. Could not find it in the local stores (i.e., Home Depot, ACO). Could only get it from the HVAC supplier which I wanted to avoid since I didn't want to have to pay a markup. So I searched the world via the Internet to see what I could find and wow what a deal! This filter costs 3 times less than going through my HVAC supplier. Keep in mind, this humidifier and brand have been around forever so I was glad to see that I didn't have to spend alot of money on this simple maintenance item. I only ordered one since I wanted to make sure it really was the correct part. It was! It was not some imitation (copy) part like another supplier offered.

This is the exact same pad that came with my GeneralAire humidifier. Held up well for the one year I used it. I replace it at the beginning of each heating season.

Ordered this for my GeneralAire Humidifier on my heating system. The product comes in a sealed plastic pouch, because the wicking material is coated with a compound to help the material hold and distribute water over the surface of the metallic wick. Open the pouch over a garbage can or your sink, as some of the powdery coating comes loose in shipping, and it is a little messy. Pre-rinse this item in cool tap water before installation into the humidifier housing. It will also be important to remove this item at the end of the heating/humidifying season, and clean up the wick tray and surrounding surfaces of the interior of the humidifier housing with a wet sponge. The coating compound breaks down after the heating season and can end up fouling your return air ducts if you do not remove it promptly. This is a procedure I have developed via trial and error over the last 6 years.

Okay so this is my third cool mist humidifier. This one is worth its weight in gold! The water lasts several days when on the middle setting, there is no filter, it is easy to clean, and it is silent. I bought this with just one review. I was cautious but the review was glowing, and I have used it for 3 months and love it. You do have to use this on the counter instead of the floor because there is not a high speed fan that will push the air up. You can adjust the beak to any direction and direct the air flow. The reservoir is a little hard to fill but just take off the beak and it will balance in the tub.

I purchased this unit, as well as another Crane tear drop styled unit which is highly rated, around the same time and have been using both in different rooms. This one blows that one away. It has great output, its fairly quiet, it doesn't leave crazy condensation on the table it sits on, and it has a good tank capacity. See my review for the crane tear drop. It has a design flaw to it which is annoying. Now, I have only had this one a week, but I can see it out performs others I have had, and currently have. There are better units for more then $120 dollars available, but in the $60 price range, as best as I can tell, this is the one you want.

I bought the Crane 2.1 Gallon COOL Mist Humidifier reading high reviews and was quite impressed with the product. A couple reviews mentioned that the unit was not functioning properly and I thought that has to be an exception. The unit I bought malfunctioned within 1 (one month). Power would stay on but no humidification. The days that it worked, it worked great but a unit going bad so soon is not acceptable. I am returning the unit for a refund and am not going to be buying it.

I live in Indiana, and the air in my house is very dry in the winter. Dry itchy skin, sinus trouble, constantly getting shocked when touching metal, etc. I've been shopping online for a GOOD humidifier for over two weeks. I have purchased two Holmes units over the years (different models-JUNK), and got terrible results, and threw them away after using only one winter. I decided to do more research this time, and I'm glad I did. This unit was more expensive than other models, but I was willing to pay more for better results. I unpacked it, leafed through the very simple instructions, filled it with water, plugged it in, and turned it on. A short time later, I could honestly tell a difference in the room humidity level. Again, the air in my house is dry this time of year, so I left it on high for the entire first tank full. This morning after showering; no itchy skin, and I am no longer getting shocked every time I touch metal, or pet my dog. This unit is incredibly quiet-it makes no noise at all! I was surprised that one tank of water lasted as long as it did on high output. I think I have a keeper here-this unit is a winner! It is obviously much better than other units I have purchased in the past. I highly recommend this humidifier.

The product looks fine but I give up. This is the 2nd LW24 I bought. I have Asthma and really need a good Air Washer to improve my daily life, a friend recommended this brand, he has a LW14 & likes it.

After step by step setup the 1st one, everything checked fine, turned on the power, green light on & I can see the fan was moving, at once, the red light on too, fan stoped at once too. I read the user manual again & again, it is a simple designed machine, not rocket science, what could be wrong? It was Friday night, I could not get their technical support so I sent an email to them, they replied fast, but telling me they could do nothing, best way is return the merchandise.

As I said I need it badly, so I ordered the 2nd one, I thought the "Made in Germany" should not be that bad. I got it Friday again. This time I did the setup even more carefully, since I have the 1st time experience already, but the exact same problem happened again. What could be wrong? Anyone could help me before I return it again?

These are most effectively (and inexpensively) used to create a humidity ceiling. Traditional humidification units can easily create humidity. However, the real problem occurs when the environment inside a humidifier becomes TOO HUMID, resulting in irreparable damage to cigars, including mold. Because these packets regulate humidity by both releasing AND ABSORBING humidity, they can effectively be used indefinitely for the latter purpose (provided that there is a traditional humidification unit *creating* humidity above the indicated threshold of these packets).

Nothing is more depressing than moldy cigars. I just had to trash about $200 worth because my Cigar Oasis Ultra humidor was creating too much humidity.

I have only been using these for about a week, but they are great. They maintain 67% humidity in my humidor with about 25 cigars in it. I only put one package in the humidor instead of 2 to 3 like the directions say, but it works better that my old insert that had to have water added to it on a weekly basis. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who likes to keep cigars that will smoke the way thay are supposed to.

My homemade humidor now maintains 69% RH on the dot. I threw in a couple of traditional water pillows which would have sent the humidity up to about 77% thus creating a mold problem and ruining the cigars. You just can't beat these Boveda packs for obtaining the exact level of humidity you want. Sealed in ziplock baggies they keep humidity exactly at the labeled humidity. How they perform in your humidors depends on how air tight they are.

The most important feature of these is that not only do they release humidity, they also absorb it when required. I prefer to keep my cigars at 65% humidity and most retail humidors are kept at 72-75% humidity. When these over humidified cigars are put in with a Boveda pack, it absorbs the excess moisture in 24-48 hours. I was amazed the first time I saw this happen, as the liquid in the pack turned an amber color (and gained a very nice smell) from what it absorbed from the cigars.

You can use these as a safety mechanism to prevent over humidification when used with traditional humidifiers.

And the best part, when they dry out, you can rejuvenate them!, Just seal them in a container with a dish of water (don't soak the packs themselves in water) This works best if you don't let them completely dry out.

I can't say enough good things about these Boveda packs.
