This Replacement filter works perfectly on my Honeywell HCM-6000. I found that the filter will last longer if you flip it every other water fill up. This will not allow any one side to stay in the water too long and turn sour.

Honeywell humidifier is one of very few devices that can pump several gallons of water into the air to humidify the whole house. 9 gallons a day is what Honeywell advertises. It does its job but at a price that Honeywell does not advertise.

What the manufacture does not warn you about is that HC-14 filter lasts 2 months (at least in Northern Virginia) . By the end of the second month one can pump maybe 2 gallons a day. I never had a filter that lasted 3 months (and, yes, I perform the prescribed maintenance).

Thus, if you want to use Honeywell QuietCare humidifier be prepared to shell out around $10-15 per months on replacement filters and ProTech cartridges.

For now, I'm giving this 2 stars because it is not a Honeywell filter. According to the box this is a "BestAir Extended Life Humidi*Wick Filter" that is compatible as a generic replacement for the HC-14.

I felt a little "bait and switched" because the title of this product implies this is a Honeywell product. It's not.

I've got 3 of these so I'll run through these and then update my rating.

I've now run through 3 of these filters. Don't let the earlier (2006, 2007) positive reviews of this filter fool you. It's far inferior to the genuine HC-14 filter with the blue outer covering. My humidifier was constantly running the entire 3 months I was using these filters. The humidifier could never reach or maintain my desired humidity level. Last week when I switched to the genuine filter not only did it reach my desired humidity level (40-45%) it only needs to switch on half the time to maintain that level.

The difference in efficiency is astonishing.

Unfortunately, I couldn't find a vendor on Amazon selling the genuine filter. I needed to do a web search to find the product.

Replacement filter works well. Tends to form a bit of mold and musty smell if left sitting in water while humidifier is not running. I suggest always running your humidifier completely out of water before shutting it off.

There seems to be a price discrepancy. I ordered this product at $31.99 each, but when it was delivered it was the same as a similar filter that is listed for $9.99. There are two different products shown at this site that are both called Honeywell HC-14 Filter E. In fact, they are the same product listed at two different prices. Do not buy the product shown in the ad because it is priced $22 more than it should be. Buy the one listed for $9.99.

I live in an apartment surrounded by smokers. My downstairs neighbor has the habbit of smoking indoors, especially in the bathroom. He turns on the bathroom air vent and the smell of smoke ends up in my apartment. It got to the point where my family thought that I had become a smoker because my son and I were walking around smelling like ash trays. After some research, I went ahead and purchased 2 of these units. One is in my son's bedroom and the other in the living room. Problem solved! My son and I no longer smell like smoke and my apartment no longer has that smell.

I bought 2 of these, one for my adult son who has asthma and one for myself because I was just diagnosed with allergies to airborne allergens including dust mites. My allergist told me to get a hepa filter, which this appeared to be. Unfortunately companies can write hepa on the description without it being a true hepa filter, Too late I've discovered that it should specify that it cleans up to .3 microns and captures at least 99.97 percent of airborne particles. I'm keeping them for 2 reasons. We destroyed the boxes and we have already used them for several weeks. They are very quiet, but wouldn't say they are very effective for dust mite allergies. In the meantime I have ordered 2 purifiers that use real hepa filters. Do your homework before you buy for allergy relief.

I am glad I bought this. Use it to filter out the cigarette smoke in a room that is 250 square feet. It does a very good job. It can be put on the high setting which filters out smells, orders, and smoke smell or smoke in about few hours or less. Then it has whisper mode that you can let it run all the time 24/7 and never hear it but takes a long time to filter out smells and orders using this mode. Has medium speed that works also and does fine, usually takes several hours to filter air in this mode. It gives you options and what works best for you to use. Made out of durable plastic and sturdy, no problems assembling it and after running it now for almost 3 months it is still going strong and works great. I like the re-usable filter that you can take out yourself and clean as needed and not have to buy expensive filters on other brands or models. This has been perfect and economical and I would buy another if needed.

I'm so happy with this purchase. I was looking for a "room air cleaner". I put this on the nightstand by my bed and it's so quiet! When I wake up, I'm not stuffed up any more! I don't care what else it does, the sinus thing was worth every penny. And I only run it at night, which makes me happy. Already recommending it!

I was expecting to pay $500 for one of those standing units. I'm glad I found this one and I was afraid it would be too noisy or not powerful enough. I put this on whisper clean for two hours and I could feel a significant difference in my room's air quality. You can also barely hear it unless you stick your face to it.

I have horrible allergies and after moving into a pet-friendly apartment, it only got worse. Our old residents were also slobs and despite me cleaning the place 100 times, it's still full of allergens. I spent hundreds on humidifiers, cleaners, allergies drugs, etc. to no luck. Thankfully, I found this and I'm breathing again. Seriously, if you have allergies, look no further!

I used CLR to remove hard water build-up around a few sinks in my home. I used it straight out of the bottle and let it sit for a few minutes. With some scrubbing it removed the build-up. The next project was the shower with glass wall and door. It was a mess of water spots and soap scum. I tried regular household cleaners, WD40 and some other "secret weapons" found on the web no luck. I them wiped CLR with a soft sponge all over the shower and let sit for a few minutes. Next up, scrubbing and rinsing -success! Most of the spots were gone and the glass looked much improved. Keep in mind, it takes work, not just spray 'n wipe.

A problem that occurred in our old toilet was that some kind of scale or calcium build-up prevented the flapper from sealing the tank properly, so that the float valve was being continuously activated. We drained the tank and let a quarter inch deep of CLR soak overnight. After that the flapper was once again able to seal the tank and the float valve was no longer constantly triggering.

"swish a little through, and it looks like new"... yeah, i'm gonna go with no on that one! that's the quote that they use in the commercial to demonstrate how easy it is to clean out a coffee pot (although "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is"). i actually had to scrub at mine for quite a while to get results... but i still got really good results, and that's what counts! i also used this on some rusty tools, and they look great now (i don't know if like knew, cause i haven't seem them like this for a while). ya gotta scrub to get the right results with this stuff. oh, and it didn't seem to help with my shower head, so i dinged it a star!

This product does not do what anything that the commercials say that it will do. I tried it more than three years ago and it made no difference at all on the hard water deposits on my shower doors, either calcium or lime.

I followed the instructions to the letter, and used up an entire bottle on two shower doors, but it had no effect. I thought maybe I had just gotten a bad batch, so I bought another bottle at Walmart four months ago to give it a try again .

Even after scrubbing and scrubbing, nothing happened. I don't know if it works for anyone else but after two tries with two different bottles of it around 2 1/2 years apart, and with over two hours of my time and effort, plus the cost of the product wasted, I can only advise that you save your money for another product that might work. I just wish that I knew what that product was.

I use CLR to clean all of the white calcium scum build up on dishes. Just a capful in the dishwasher cleans the entire load! A small amount in the coffee pot and shake the pot around for a couple minutes cleans everything. Works well in my bathroom for tubs and sinks as well. I have never tried it in toilets. I had a build up once in my shower head and removed the sprayer and dipped in a cup of CLR and it worked great.

I had a Vicks vaporizer but it stopped producing steam. So I wanted to try a different manufacturer and the Sunbeam was a great alternative. Since my bed is higher than the table I will be placing the vaporizer below the mattress top, so I need the steam to flow straight up. Not only does the steam flow straight up, but if I close all the doors in my bedroom and let the vaporizer run for a few hours, returning to my bedroom is like returning to a steam bath. In other words, this sucker kicks out some steam!

I live where there is very hard water, so I am accustomed to dealing with hard water issues. This vaporizer works just fine, albeit it does after a few days slow considerably if the water being used in it is hard. Citric acid, just about a tablespoon, in a couple cups of water will dissolve any mineral deposits that do build up. I soak the heater element portion of this vaporizer in this citric acid solution during the day, rinse the acid solution out before I use the vaporizer at night, and it works like new.

Jamie719's comment almost made me change my mind on buying this. After researching all the humidifiers/vaporizers on Amazon, I bought this one because it's cheap with good reviews, and more expensive humidifiers do the same thing but some can also turn off automatically. Problem is, a few poor reviews make the auto turn off feature sound untrustworthy on ANY humidifier, at least not trustworthy enough to risk relying on it. So, I bought this humidifier and a timer Woods 50000 Indoor 2-Prong Plug which I will always use along with it, in case I forget to unplug it or refill it like Jamie719 did.

I assumed that Jamie719 didn't have enough water in her tank. The white top part that looks like it's a fan screws on top easily and locks into place on top of the big plastic bowl. The "center part" extends down from the top part that you screw in, and it extends all the way down to the bottom of the tank to suck up water for vaporization. It is physically impossible for the bottom of the "center part" to be charred if the tank had even the slightest bit of water in it, which is why I'm now sure that Jamie719 just didn't have enough water in her tank or let it run too long without refilling it.

I'm very glad she left that comment and that it was so descriptive as I might have otherwise trusted it to simply turn itself off when it ran out of water. But it's not dangerous. It's quite well-made, nice and simple. It used less than half the water I put in, when I was using it for 8 hours at once.

Also, the timer has another benefit: I originally just set the timer to run for 8 hours whenever I slept, but running the humidifier constantly was just too much humidity for me. Now I have it set so that the timer runs for 30 minutes, then takes a 30 min break, runs for 30 min, takes a 30 min break... for 8 hours. The result is a mild level of humidity that completely relieves my headaches from sensitive sinuses from inhaling cold dry air all night through my nose.

This Vaporizer is very loud. It only ran for 5 hours at a time. After owning it only 2 or 3 weeks it almost caught on fire! In the middle of the night I was awoken by loud electrical popping, sizzling noises. I looked over and it looked like fireworks going off inside the vaporizer. I unplugged it quickly. After it cooled down, I took the center part out of the tank and the bottom had a charred circle on the bottom! Scary! My baby was in the same room sleeping in his bassinet. Decide carefully.

Works fine but really loud, like a kettle boiling constantly. Also if I had added the Vicks medicine, the water left in the tank the next day is brownish, although the medicine is clear. I would recommend buying it if you don't mind the loud noise and you're not intending to use medicine with it.

The product is not good as advertised. It is good only for smaller rooms definitely not good for 1000sqft etc.

Even we try to put it in smaller rooms which about 300 Sqft and does work as expected but it is good when the door is closed. We can not feel the heat more than 5feet on maximum heat.

I woudl give it 5 stars but the only thing that I don't like much is the size. It is a bit big to fit in the room i wanted. It does however state the dimensions so just make sure you are confortable with the size. It is not heavy but bulky for the application I wanted. It heats quickly and works great. No complaints on performance.
