Although my daughter warned me against this brand of humidifier I have so far been pleased with its performance. I like the fine fog and quiet operation. It has stopped twice but cleaning has restored it. A more expensive model I also bought included cleaning instructions and they've saved this from a one star rating.

I loved this at first. I'd had such a hard time finding a humidifier that worked and after returning 2 much higher priced humidifiers I thought I'd finally found a winner. But just 2 days in i could no longer get it to turn on. I found that if i fiddled with the cord enough it would eventually come on for a minute or two, so i think it may have had a short or something. Luckily the company was great and let me send it back for a refund.

Followed directions, smelled nothing, Doubled suggested amounts and still nothing unless you sticking your nose in the exhaust vents of the humidifier, stand up, and smell nothing. ALSO, for first time in 3 years with this humidifier I have what looks like hard water buildup on bottom of the tray, never built up before only now when using the smell sweet junk that doesn't work..... Can't be positive, but I'm blaming it on this stuff.

Waste of money, I have one of those automatic air freshener's and just stuck one of them in front of the humidifier, when it goes off the humidifier pushes the scent all around the room, works for me.

I am disappointed with this product. In order to get enough of a scent to enjoy, you have to use a lot and that creates too many bubbles when filling my humidifier.

I live in an apartment surrounded by smokers. My downstairs neighbor has the habbit of smoking indoors, especially in the bathroom. He turns on the bathroom air vent and the smell of smoke ends up in my apartment. It got to the point where my family thought that I had become a smoker because my son and I were walking around smelling like ash trays. After some research, I went ahead and purchased 2 of these units. One is in my son's bedroom and the other in the living room. Problem solved! I bought 2 of these, one for my adult son who has asthma and one for myself because I was just diagnosed with allergies to airborne allergens including dust mites. My allergist told me to get a hepa filter, which this appeared to be. Unfortunately companies can write hepa on the description without it being a true hepa filter, Too late I've discovered that it should specify that it cleans up to .3 microns and captures at least 99.97 percent of airborne particles. I'm keeping them for 2 reasons. We destroyed the boxes and we have already used them for several weeks. They are very quiet, but wouldn't say they are very effective for dust mite allergies. In the meantime I have ordered 2 purifiers that use real hepa filters. Do your homework before you buy for allergy relief.

I am glad I bought this. Use it to filter out the cigarette smoke in a room that is 250 square feet. It does a very good job. It can be put on the high setting which filters out smells, orders, and smoke smell or smoke in about few hours or less. Then it has whisper mode that you can let it run all the time 24/7 and never hear it but takes a long time to filter out smells and orders using this mode. Has medium speed that works also and does fine, usually takes several hours to filter air in this mode. It gives you options and what works best for you to use. Made out of durable plastic and sturdy, no problems assembling it and after running it now for almost 3 months it is still going strong and works great. I like the re-usable filter that you can take out yourself and clean as needed and not have to buy expensive filters on other brands or models. This has been perfect and economical and I would buy another if needed.

I'm so happy with this purchase. I was looking for a "room air cleaner". I put this on the nightstand by my bed and it's so quiet! When I wake up, I'm not stuffed up any more! I don't care what else it does, the sinus thing was worth every penny. And I only run it at night, which makes me happy. Already recommending it!

I was expecting to pay $500 for one of those standing units. I'm glad I found this one and I was afraid it would be too noisy or not powerful enough. I put this on whisper clean for two hours and I could feel a significant difference in my room's air quality. You can also barely hear it unless you stick your face to it.

I have horrible allergies and after moving into a pet-friendly apartment, it only got worse. Our old residents were also slobs and despite me cleaning the place 100 times, it's still full of allergens. I spent hundreds on humidifiers, cleaners, allergies drugs, etc. to no luck. Thankfully, I found this and I'm breathing again. Seriously, if you have allergies, look no further!

This dehumidifier will nicely done, and has several well executed details. For example:

Hose drain connect has a cap that can be replaced.

It includes a three foot hose.

The drip bucket has a handle inside it.

The whole unit has a handle on the top, making it easy to carry.

It has a basic filter on the back to prevent dust buildup on the coils.

It is reasonably quiet, at least compared with my 9 year old white-westinghouse. It might be too loud in a bedroom, but I can't hear it in my basement until I'm 2/3rds the way down the steps.

It is energy star rated, and (according to the manual) consumes 520 watts of energy.

I take one star away because water can drip into the bucket even if the hose is connected if it isn't leveled just right for the water to go down the hose. If you have it such that a little water gets into the bucket AND the hose, it may be a potential for mold growth. This is a design problem that is fairly easy to overcome once you are aware of it.

I first became aware that I needed a humidifier when the condensation from my basement walls left mildewy puddles on the floor. My basement is about 900 square feet. I did a lot of research online, and although I couldn't find a review for the Haier, it had a lot of the features I was looking for (45-pint, Energy Star, Auto-Shut-off-when-full, price, etc). I left the settings on full at first; in one day there was no visible water, in two days there was no obvious dampness, and by the third or fourth day, I turned the settings to normal, and the unit began clicking off when it reached its target humidity level. Because it's in my basement, I'm not really aware of the noise, but it's quite a bit quieter than the air conditioning. If you compare it to your average box fan with three settings, I would say it's substantially quieter than the highest setting and a little bit louder than the medium setting. I've run it continuously since May and haven't noticed a huge difference in my electricity bills.

The positive reviews for this dehumidifier are most often from people who just started using it and are happy with the features. The fact is, I was happyt too until it stopped working after 9 months. There are 3 out of 14 reviews like that, one of which had it not work from the beginning. I would be interested to have people who wrote their reviews shortly after buying to update after 2 years of use. Even without this, 3/14 (over 20%) failure rate isn't good for one year of use!

I used this dehumidifier in the basement of my house. This worked fine and then stopped dehumidifying after 9 months. I don't feel that a dehumidifier should stop working after such a short period of time. I examined the inside: The compressor gets very hot and the cooling coils are not cold at all, except for a very small region of thin tubing connecting two banks of coils. I can not say enough good things about this wonderful blanket. You preheat the bed (don't need long at all) and when you get in, it's like slipping into warm cocoa. The heat is evenly distributed, the blanket itself is beautiful and I honestly don't think it is too heavy at all... We have another blanket on the bed that's definitely heavier. I love it so much that I have the exact same blanket in throw size to keep in my home office. I don't see how anyone could be sorry they bought this blanket. I love it!!!!

The fabric is very soft and plush. Overall the blanket is a good weight--not too heavy, not too light.

I like this blanket for the timer. The blanket turns off automatically after 10 or so hours. This I really appreciate as (with my old blanket) I frequently forgot; given that I travel frequently, sometimes my blanket was on for 4 or 5 days at a time. The pre-heater---I don't understand exactly why an electric blanket needs a preheater...but it has it!

The control dial has a minimal glow to it..enough so I can see it easily at night, but not so bright where the light disturbs my sleep.

I would have preferred a different color, but for the sale price.... I prefer quality and practicality over color coordination.

I absolutely love this blanket (right now), because in the fall when there's a chilly night, you don't even have to turn it on, and its still warm. It takes about 20 minutes to heat up, and once it does its hot, wake up and your sweaty hot. The blanket turns off after 10 hours, but who ever sleeps for 10 hours? psh. The downfall of this blanket is that its very thin, and you can feel all the ribbing, no biggie though. I haven't tried to wash this blanket yet, and I've only had it for a 11 days, used it 4 times, so who knows if it will be good after a year of use.

Filter was narrower than original 7 1/4 inch should have been 8" so had to cut from length to make 1 inch piece to fill gap! Fortunately longer than original so cutting and piecing was possible but inconvenient. Dimensions should be 19 inch x 8 inch x 1 inch if was available this would be perfect!!

Buy The Sharper Image Ultrasonic Humidifier Demineralization Cartridges

If you have a sharper image humidifier, and you see white dust all over your room, then you need this. Mine came with one of these and it really does work. It basically floats around in the water tank and absorbs minerals. It lasts about four months which, where I live, is about one season. It is a bit overpriced. Its not much bigger than your thumb and yet it's $20. But it's worth it if it works.

At first I thought the price was ridiculously high for one cartridge, but when it arrived I found there are four cartridges in the package -which it does say in the fine print on this web site, but I failed to see that. So I think the price is okay for four of them. However, I still got it cheaper online from Bed, Bath, and Beyond.

I bought one for my office and one my son's room. Both of us suffer from the dry winters and need some humidity to help coughs and dry throats.

This little humidifier is great.Very small, light and discreet enough to use anywhere. The unit can be used with any bottle I have tried; you can also use it without a bottle, but you just need to fill it up a lot. Other reviewers have complained that it doesn't nebulize the mist. I found the same on occasions. But discovered that tilting the unit or cranking up the power got it going again.

My son's unit never had a problem, but has stayed in the same position throughout use (about 3 months).

I like orange so this looks cool for me!
