I purchased this humidifier about 8 months ago to replace a large, bulky humidifier that required filters. This humifier has an auto shut off when out of water and also has the optional "night light". I like the power dial that allows you to control the amount of mist it produces. This stays in our bedroom and does a good job keeping our room from being too dry. I actually wish it were a little louder, as I liked the "hum" from our former humidifier, but I am sure that the quiet feature is going to be a plus for most! You can't go wrong with this humidifier. It is sleek in design and easy to fill. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a cool mist humidifier!

I bought this humidifier from Bed Bath and Beyond for my infant's nursery. Very pleased with it after several uses. It's very quiet, has an optional night light so if you are light sensitive you don't need to use it or if you want a night light say for a nursery then you have it. It's very easy to clean and I bought the cartridges that help to maintain the clean water for it.

Just received my Ci-Gel Clear Jar Humidifier. Having never used such an item, I was very disappointed that there were no directions in the package. I have no idea whether to use it as is or fill with distilled water. I've been searching the web for suggestions but so far no luck. This may be a very good product but without directions it is useless to me.

amazon listing says "re-use these again and again by just adding distilled water!"; received item says "refill with Xikar Propylene Glycol Solution" (which costs $12 shipped, for an 8-oz bottle).

amazon listing says "3 ounce capacity"; received item is marked "2 fl oz." this may be a discrepancy between ounces (weight) and fluid ounces (volume), but it does make this item appear to be 50% larger than competing items, which are all advertised as "2 oz".

if i'd known this, i would have ordered the item with Ci-Gel in the title, for $3 less.

i think i will simply refill with distilled water anyway, and when it stops maintaining proper humidity, replace it with the (more expensive) heartfelt beads, which appear to be very popular with cigar smokers.

I ordered cigar caddy humidor canisters (Ci-Gel Cigar Humidor Humidifier Gel, 2-Ounce) at 6.49 a piece i ordered 4 and was charged for 4 at this price! my package arrived today with a different cheaper brand with blue lid at 2.49 a piece a total of 4. the package looks cheap and not of good quality :((

Just wanted to say that I bought this to get rid of a musty smell in my room, and to also fight any mildew buildup in the carpet. I have crazy sensitive allergies, and carpets usually bug me.

This got rid of the musty smell for me, and it also has sucked up a decent amount of moisture in over two weeks. It took about a week or so to start dripping, but after that it definitely kept accumulating. Depending on how moist an area is, this might not last the full 60 days. As soon as this fills to the line on the bottom collection unit it will need to be emptied, and the packets will need to be replaced.

The 10.5 oz packets are a bit big, but it isn't impossible to squeeze two of them into the top compartment. Do not open the dampRid bags, just remove them from the plastic wrap and place them into the top of the unit side by side. It isn't unusual for them to take up to 30 days to start to drip, but if the area is really humid it could be much sooner than the week it took mine.

Their website also has a helpful FAQ section. If a musty smell isn't going away you may need to add another unit every few days(think it was a few) until it does. Just saying this cause some have said it didn't help in their basement.

I have a basement bedroom that gets really damp in the summer, to the point that my sheets and duvet get almost wet, it's disgusting. I bought the DampRid product with a very skeptical attitude. I really didn't believe there way any way these would work, but I thought I would give it a shot before I spent a couple of hundred dollars on a dehumidifier. To my shock, they work! They work very well, in fact! I was amazed when after the first four days the water reservoirs at the bottom had water in them and my sheets weren't wet! I haven't had a damp sheet since. If you have any doubt as to whether these work or not, don't! They do!

I have a 10 x 12 ft. music room where I keep several guitars, and since I live in a humid climate (west central Florida) I need to keep an eye on room humidity. Over a thirty day period the DampRid FG90 removed twelve ounces of water that may have otherwise been absorbed by the guitars.

The FG90 came with two Easy-Fill absorbent packets. Use both, the second one is not a spare. If you only install one and then read the directions a week or so later, you'll find the second packet difficult to install because the first one has already solidified.

I gave the FG90 four stars instead of five because of appearance. The color does not go at all well with my decor.

I use the Meade Instruments TM005X-M wireless thermo hygrometer to monitor room temperature and humidity.
