Cheap AirWolf 5-in-1 Air System
I purchased one of these Airwolf 5-in-1 Air Systems last year and have yet to find a supplier for the filters needed for this machine, thinking that surely the manufacturer would sell the filters. I have been unable to contact the manufacturer because there is no phone number or website with info on where to buy the filters. I have been buying larger filters from a local hardware store and modifying/cutting them to fit this unit. Be sure you can find and buy the correct filters for this machine before you buy it, or you'll have to make your own filters.
Heater
I will say that the heater is not as good as I would have liked it to be, but it does get the job done. One thing that would have made it better is a thermostat. And I have noticed a difference in the comfort level of my room when running the heater and humidifier together.
Air Purifier
The air purifier is actually one of the best features of this unit. The fact that you can run the purifier with all modes is a plus. However, you cannot use the Ionizer and the heater at the same time. And for anyone that has had/used an ionizer that is what makes the room smell so good. Kinda like just after a rain storm. And add to that a UV sanitizer, which kills viruses, bacteria and tiny little critters that the HEPA filter may have missed.
Fan
What can I say, it blows air. Nothing special here.
Humidifier
I like this feature , it uses evaporation technology. Which does seem to add humidity to the air but will not actually produce a stream of water. Which is a big plus. When water vapor goes into the air it tends to collect on surfaces and just makes things wet.
Cooler
It's not gotten hot yet, but in my experience this will probably work just fine. Put cold water in the tray and it should help cool the room. It's no A/C so don't expect to get freezing cold, but it should help take 10-20 degrees off the temp.
All in all its a decent unit. You could easily spend several hundred more dollars and get a separate unit for each function and they will do their job great. But for an all in one the price isn't bad and it does get the job done.
My only complaints are that is is a little loud and the the front of it looks like a Christmas tree and is fairly bright. Not the best when you have it in your bedroom. But putting a towel over the front takes care of that. And the remote still works. Which brings me to my last complaint. And it's not really a complaint, just an idea to improve on the design. The remote should at least be Illuminated, or not round. In the dark you can't tell which buttons you are pushing. If it wasn't round you could at least figure out where the buttons are by memory. And you cannot turn on/off the UV from the remote, Another bad design flaw. But not a deal breaker.
Like I said earlier, this machine is a Jack of all Trades , and Master of none.

I kept my AirWolf in my upstairs bedroom to provide heat in the winter. A few months ago the temps dropped, so I turned on this system and nothing happened but a humming noise. No one repairs them, and I can't contact anyone from the company to answer questions. I guess the one year warranty and operational time is all you get.Honest reviews on AirWolf 5-in-1 Air System
THE DAY THAT I RECEIVED THIS 5IN 1 AIR SYSTEM, MY BEEDROOM TEMP WAS 91 degrees, so programed this junk on cold air for the max time[7hrs]. so I went to bed. four hrs. later I woke up in a pool of sweat and it was still 91 degrees in my bedroom. ok the next night the temp dropped 40 degrees [in Vermont] so I programed this piece of junk to heat,to the max of time again. now are you all ready for this???. after the unit kicked in ,it kicked off. I tried to get this unit to work 5 more times and it kicked of all 5 times. so than I said the hell with unit. the next day I called their 800 # and all I got was a busy signal and I called from 8am to 8pm for 3 days, same thing. also the web address they supplied does not exist. thank god for amazon,i called them and they took care of this matter with no problem. I must add bought this unit from amazon but was sold through northern tools and northern tool had no problem in me to return this junk' so I say save your money and do not buy.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for AirWolf 5-in-1 Air System
Heating is not that strong. I have not tried cooling part of the unit. I thought it would heat the room better.Thursday, December 18, 2014

The Sharper Image EV-HD15 Cool Mist Ultrasonic 1.6-Gallon Review
I recently purchased this humidifier at BBB and so far it is doing a good job. I wanted something that was quiet and didn't require replacement filters and I got it.
When adjusting the humidistat you can definitely see a change in the amount of mist on my machine. Many reviews talk about the demineralizing tablets and not knowing what to do with them. If you read the instruction manual it tells you at the end what to do with them. Fill your tank and drop them in. Depending if you have normal water you replace them every 3 months or so and if you have hard water they may need to be replaced more often.
If the light on the front of the machine is green you have enough water, if it turns red that means you need to add more water.
As far as the other reviews and the de-mineralization tablets, I didn't even read the instruction manual, I assumed it works like all other humidifiers and you just drop them in the tank. However, it would be nice for Sharper Image to tell you that (they do tell you this on the replacement pack tho).
Pro's: this device shoots mist high into the air with its vertical spout.
This is a quiet unit which can be filled with water and left alone for quite some time before needing a refill.
Important side note: the floatable filters that you drop separately into each tank need replacing after 30 to 40 fills.
This Sharper Image humidifier is the best I have ever owned. We bought it in November 2009 as humidifiers are recommended during pregnancy. This humidifier is super quiet. We leave it on all day in our family room and I can't hear it at all. With it being winter, we generally have it on the highest setting and yet we only have to refill it every other day. It has two tanks that last 36 hours. When it does run out of water, a red light shows and it shuts itself off. There is a night light on it. And it makes breathing so much easier my sinuses are great. I highly recommend it.
I did not like the fact that the unit was so bulky and had the vent directed upward only (my old unit had the mist coming out of the unit at about 45 degrees angle which I though was better). But I do like that it has two separate water compartments and no parts of the humidifier that can get damaged (oscilator, e.g.) are not accessible.
Overall, I am very satisfied and hope it will serve me long...

We purchased this about a week ago from BBB and so far we love it. It's worked perfectly, no issues, and it actually makes our rooms humid which is very hard to do in AZ. This is the 5th humidifier I've purchased in the last 4 years and it is by far my favorite. Also because it has two tanks, it can be running while you are re-filling which comes in handy if you need it on 24-7 and not just at night. It also doesn't make a sound. AND I'm sick of paying for and changing filters on all my other humidifiers. They are pure gross and filled with dust and bacteria. As far as the other reviews and the de-mineralization tablets, I didn't even read the instruction manual, I assumed it works like all other humidifiers and you just drop them in the tank. This unit is truly function following form. My biggest complaint is that the two tanks leak after a few refill's before placing them back in the unit. Also the dial used to control the humidity level either produces a lot of humidity or none and its not very accurate.Pro's: this device shoots mist high into the air with its vertical spout.

I actually just purchased this humidifier (from BBB) after my year-old Venta Sonic broke down. I am positively surprised about how quiet it is. I quite do not understand other reviews saying that there is no instructions for the demineralization cartriges please see page 10 of the small booklet called Instruction Manual and Warranty Information...I did not like the fact that the unit was so bulky and had the vent directed upward only (my old unit had the mist coming out of the unit at about 45 degrees angle which I though was better). Buy Kaz V1700 Mini Plug-In Waterless Vaporizer
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $9.99
Sale Price: $8.49
Today's Bonus: 15% Off

I purchased this as a simpler alternative to the traditional Vicks and other brands of Vaporizers.
Pro's:
1) Easy to plug in
2) No filling up a large vaporizer with water constantly
3) No measuring medicine into the vaporizer machine
4) No need for an outlet
5) No constant need to maintain a level of medication and no guessing at home much to put in the water
6) No concerns of building up mold in the vaporizer, eliminating constantly needing to clean the unit
Con's:
1) The instructions specifically state "CAUTION: Do not touch exposed pad with skin. In case of contact with skin, wash area immediately with plenty of water.
2) It leaks!
3) *A PRETTY BIG RED FLAG*
It's a bit of a challenge to open the package just right and place the pad into the unit without touching it. I have touched it, and it caused a numbing tingling sensation. I immediately washed my hands and went away. The soothing ingredients of Eucalyptis Oil, Cedarleaf Oil (Mineral Oil), Nutmeg Oil, and Thymol don't last all night as advertised, and I found that the unit leaked. Not only that, but the night light also went out. I assume the leaking oil caused the night light to burn out. If this is true, isn't this a fire hazard if the oil leaked enough to cause the night light to go out? That doesn't bring me any comfort.
Essential oils are sold as single oils or as blends. Buying the oil is a lot cheaper than buying refill pads that are pre-scented, especially since the oil on a pad dissipates overnight. And for those who are worried about using essential oil, they come in dropper bottles so you never touch the oil, you just dab it on the pad using the dropper bottle and pop the pad into the diffuser/waterless vaporizer.
I have had this plugged in for hours now and it hardly smells, "yes i read the instructions"
I was expecting some relief, I still feel the same, one nostril is more clogged than the other.
I even moved the plug to the smallest room in the house, still no diffrence.
Save your money.

it was definitely smaller and lighter than i imagined it would be :) very neatly designed an the green light is an added bonus, additional nightlight. when plugged in, the aroma quickly fills the room. My son would normally fall asleep an sound congested, light snore in a short time, but when we used this vaporizer he slept soundly an quietly an hasnt been stuffy or congested since i bought it. it works really well an may save some visits to the doctor, who knows?? :)Best Deals for Kaz V1700 Mini Plug-In Waterless Vaporizer
This is a little heart shaped diffuser as shown. There is no on/off swtch. You just plug it in. It works like one of those Glade plug-ins, only using essential oil instead of a little chemical packet. Although they sell these pre-scented pads to go with it, I bought some blank pads, with nothing on them, and cut one down to fit. You can add any essential oil you want to them and you can re-oil the same pad again and again.Essential oils are sold as single oils or as blends. As as an avid smoker, keeping my cigars at the perfect humidity is very important. This product is perfect and does the job well. Unfortunatly the shipping packaging has a lot to be desired and the bottle barely made it to me and dented on the bottom, although no liquid was spilled. Im writing this comment in hope of improved packaging from the shipper and we can all be happy in the end. Many Thanks!

Received package quickly, but when I opened the bottle to use it, I found the security seal was broken. This makes me question whether the contents are genuine product, or may have been tampered with. Overpriced when compared to the generic Ethylene Glycol available on amazon. This stuff comes pre-mixed, so you're not supposed to add any water to it. It's very convenient, especially when used with Xikar's crystals/humidifiers. However, for the same price, you can get a lot more full-strength Ethylene Glycol here on Amazon.Wednesday, January 22, 2014

Review of Oxy-Sorb Oxygen Absorber, 300cc
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $14.99
Sale Price: $7.99
Today's Bonus: 47% Off

I ordered fifty (50) 300cc sachets from this link.
Then, I found one hundred packets for just a little more money at another link. However, they were described on that page as 'only' 100cc sachets.
The photos were identical for both the 300cc and 100cc products, so I ordered both. When I received them, they were in fact both nearly indistinguishable in size and marking (see my posted photo).
I went to the OxyFree's website where they list the 100cc sachets in 100-count packages.
The sealed package from the seller of the 100cc sachets included a tag which indicated the 504A SKU number referenced on OxyFree's website, along with a QC number. This seemed to be evidence of a genuine product/description. Furthermore, the sealing of the plastic bag was uniform all the way around. The sachets measured about 35x55mm (somewhat inconsistent with the 40x50mm dimensions on the website).
On the other hand, the "300cc" sachets from this vendor now start to look suspicious. OxyFree doesn't appear to package the 300cc sachets in quantities of 20, which at the very least means they have been repackaged (and exposed to air/oxygen in the process). More suspicious evidence is the fact that the sealed bags have a uniform pattern on three edges, and a visually different sealing pattern on the fourth edge. This made me think that they may have been hand-sealed. The bags had an Oak Tea label, pasted over a Sorbent Systems label. Finally, the "300cc" sachets I received measured 45x50mm (closer to the dimensions for the 100cc sachets, according to OxyFree). The real killer is that ACTUAL 300cc packets are much larger (50x70mm) according to the website.
The "300cc" sachets DID come with a freshness indicating tablet (despite what Steven said 3 months ago). AND, they sent me 60, instead of 50--a bonus (I guess).
Aside from the fact that they include a freshness-indicating tablet, because it appears that these have been repackaged, and especially because it appears that they have been misrepresented as to absorption capacity, I am going to return these.
I recommend against buying this product from this particular vendor. Look for the qty 100 100cc packages with the product ID number and quality control label inside the bag.
2013-01-13 Update: Vendor was Oak Tea International. The original order was placed in 2011, so I don't know if there is still an issue with what they are currently shipping.
My order came with no freshness tab. Just a bunch of little packets all hard as a rock and sealed in a plastic bag. I will have to chalk this one up to ignorance on my part. I had a feeling that these packets were not supposed to be rock hard and it seemed like a gamble to use them, but I did. and I lost alot of food that I had spent the year growing and drying and packaging to specs.
I will not purchase these again, nor will i recommend them. In my case, it seemed to make my situation worse. And, I just wanted to shout out a little "buyer beware".

I purchased this product, then returned it because there was no freshness tab. I E-mailed the company (they have no telephone number) after receiving the product and asked why there was no colored freshness tab. They said that the product was fresh and did not need a tab. I was not willing to pay for grains, beans, etc., as well as mylar bags and buckets to pack food only to find out 10 years later that my entire investment was spoiled due to bad oxygen absorbers. I will only purchase oxygen absorbers that have a colored pill ensuring they are fresh and will really absorb the oxygen in the bag.Best Deals for Oxy-Sorb Oxygen Absorber, 300cc
I bought these for putting in with my dried foods and seeds.. After two weeks of keeping some dried beans in the company of 2 of these packets, my beans had an "off" smell. Only after introducing these packets to them did I start to notice molding. My order came with no freshness tab. Just a bunch of little packets all hard as a rock and sealed in a plastic bag. Zero stars if I could. I purchased a 50 pack of O2 absorbers, it came and I started using them without counting. Well, 20 bags later, (one O2 absorber per bag) I reached in and the bag was empty!! I emailed the seller and got ZERO responses. Two seconds away from calling the Better Business Bureau, because I could prove that there was no way that 50 O2 absorbers would physically fit in the bag that they sent, luckily for them, Amazon fulfilled the order and took care of their dirty work and gave me a full refund. Don`t make my mistake everyone!!Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Oxy-Sorb Oxygen Absorber, 300cc
I am very angry about this product. I have wasted mylar bags and time to find repeatedly that these do not work. The are old and never reach any level of warmth. Do not buy from this company. I don't know where I will go next to find a company I can trust but this is extremely frustrating. Buyer's beware!
