So far, after a month of frequent use works great! I hated to spend $50+. I purchased and really loved the AromaSens Ultrasonic Diffuser from Puritan on sale for $39, but after 6-8 months it sputtered water, so I had to put it on a towel, and sometimes did not turn off. Then it died, so it was a waste of money and now sells everywhere for more than the BriteLeafs. This little diffuser takes fewer drops of essential oil to get the aroma needed for therapeutic aromatherapy, and the water lasts longer. It is easy to handle: the base clicks in so when you pick it up it doesn't come apart and spill. The directions were poorly translated but it's easy to figure out. Hold the "mist" button until it beeps on, press it to see the light move to the 30, 60, 120, or 180 min timer. I've tried all settings and it turns off at the right time. Second button is for the colored light, which has a bright and dim feature, great options, pleasant colors; I prefer to have the light off most of the time, so it's great to have that option. I don't see it sold anywhere else. I think the pictures make it look a little cheapy, but it's better when you see it in person. I'm buying a second for my massage therapy studio.

As mentioned in the title, this was my first diffuser. So I'm no expert. That said, it didn't meet my expectations. I expected it to diffuse the air in a small room in my place with the scent of eucalyptus oil. I tried multiple times with different amounts of water and oil and it never really produced any scent. The only time I could smell anything is if I went right up to the small opening where the mist was coming out of. I think that's unacceptable. I ended up returning it.

I have two of these units. If your Humidor is right out the box, dry, it will take at least a week of this unit running non stop. Also depending on the size of your humidor. One trick I used was to shut off the display and just let it keep on running. Many people say the readout is wrong by ten degrees. I have three readouts and it is off by one or two degrees.

It gets the job done... with a couple of caveats.

First off: the unit is small. It fits under the lid of a personal humidor as advertised. This means the water reservoir is small, as well. If you live in a dry climate like I do (Southern California), you will need to refill the unit often. It will be running frequently. If you want a small unit this is a fact you need to live with.

Second: don't use the battery pack. When the unit runs frequently it drains the batteries quickly. As the voltage drops the unit gets quirky and doesn't read the humidity accurately. Just run the unit off of the wall plug and everything works great.

Third: don't use distilled water to refill the unit, use a Glycol Solution. With the frequent refills required in a dry climate, the small sponge in the reservoir will not maintain its mold prevention properties for any length of time. And nobody wants fuzzy cigars. Either that, or be prepared to buy refill cartridges regularly.

If these three items are things you can accept, the unit will live up to expectations.

I only rated 4 stars because I really wanted the Ultra to run off of the battery pack and was forced to use the wall plug. Other than that, I really like the unit.

It is currently running in a desk-top, 75 cigar humidor half filled with Arturo Fuente Hemingway Signatures.

As a cigar enthusiast, I'll pay a pretty penny to make sure my puros are kept in top form with a good humidor and proper humidification. I was excited about this product when I read about it. Initially, it seems to work as advertised. I used the batteries instead of the A/C adapter just because of the configuration of the space where my humidor is located. After a week or two, an audible alarm was sounding. Hmmm. Nothing in the instruction booklet says anything about an audible alarm. All it says is that you will get one of two messages in the LED display if the unit is either low on batteries or low on water. So, I added water and replaced batteries, and as I was rebooting the unit, I got a display that said "C1.5". Hmmm. Nothing about that in the instruction booklet, either. So, I found the supplier's website in which they prominently display their phone number. No one home, so I left a voice mail and my return call number. 3-4 weeks it's been, and no return call. In the meantime, whenever I would check my humidor, the display unit kept reading 58% humidity. No way. My analog humidity dial didn't register that low, so I checked my unit with a psychrometer (that's a device that will register relative humidity available at any hardware store). Indeed, the unit was falsely registering low humidity. So, I added new batteries and re-booted again, and now, the unit seems to be registering the humidity correctly. For this kind of gadget price: (1) it needs to work flawlessly as advertised; (2) instructions need to include all information about the unit, including the mysterious "C1.5" readout, and (3) the supplier ought to have the good manners to at least return a phone call. My advice is look elsewhere and don't spend your money on this one.

Easy to set up; almost maintenance free. I've had to refill the distilled water cartridge a couple of times after a loud alarm alerted me it needed it. My digital hygrometer reads a steady 70 degres and my cigars are perfect.

The Danby Premiere DDR45E dehumidifier reduced the humidity in my basement from around 70% down to 50% within a few short hours of installation, and has kept the humidity steadily between 48% 55% ever since. My basement is 20'x20' (400 sq. ft.) and usually quite humid and musty. I never imagined my basement would feel this dry, and it smells like the rest of the house now, not like mold and mildew. With fan set to low it isn't very loud you can't even hear it from the top of the basement stairs unless the rest of the house is completely silent. I drain directly into my sump pump cavity so can't vouch for the water bucket. I plan to use it year round and hope to report in a year that it is still functional.

My Kenmore died after 11 years of near perfect service. My application is an unfinished basement that I use for a workshop and storage. The area does not have a water problem but gets damp without the aid of a dehumidifier. After reading all the reviews and Consumer Reports I chose the Danby DDR45E. It works fine and keeps the area between 50-60% humidity which is acceptable for my requirements. Since the fan runs continually, I would not recommend this unit for an area that requires quiet. It makes about the same amount of noise as a window unit air conditioner. The constant hum of the fan might be annoying to some. In my basement it doesn't matter. Mine drains directly into a drain. The plastic hose that is supplied is a little wimpy but works. If it runs as long as the Kenmore, then I'll be impressed. Stay dry!

I read the reviews of this and competitor products before choosing the Danby. It's been running about 3 months in a closed basement room that's about 32' x 20' and had grown musty and humid over the past 15 years. When I started it was something like 79% humidity level. I wanted to get to about 55%. The first couple of days I simply ran the Danby and emptied the water container 2x a day. That got old so I drilled a small hole in the top of my heat pump water drainage container and inserted the Danby drain hose (so it could run full time and drain automatically along with the central A/C). It worked well.

I left the Danby unit on full-time. After the first week the humidity level dropped to 65% or so. Another week and it dropped to 60%. Now I leave it on part time to keep the humidity level down in the 55 60% level. It's perfectly acceptable to me to turn it on a few days a week. BTW, the basement is not a "wet" basement it stays dry of visible water leaks but in Richmond Virginia there is relatively high humidity and the humidity does creep in and get into everything you keep in the basement. This Danby unit solved my problem.

The air is now dry without the dank, dusky and musty smells.

We have been running the Danby unit nearly continuously in the main room of our home since it came to us at the end of March, 2013. It quickly pulls the water from the air. So far, all controls continue to operate correctly, and the unit functions well. The one draw-back, noted by other reviewers, is how loud the unit is when running. But for us, if that's the trade-off for a machine that properly dehumidifies, and keeps running over a long period of time, then we will accept the noise. We bought it with the hope it will work for years, as other prior dehumidifiers we have bought from other manufacturers have done, and not break-down after just a few months, like the LG unit we most recently bought did. Time will tell.

I purchased this Humidifier about a month ago, and it has been working very well. I have checked it several times, and the moisture is being relaesed. The gel gets smaller as it releases the moisture. I am very satisfied with this product. I cannot give it 5 stars, only because I have not had it very long, however, I would reccomend it!

It is now October 9th and I have had a digital hygrometer in the Humidor. Yes this is the 4oz size. This Cigar Caddy has kepth the humidity between 66-72% for several months. I can now give this 5 stars!!!!!!!!

Best humidification I've had yet for my humidor. I tried using the factory disk that came with the humidor even with the 50/50 water/propylene glycol solution and this is still better. It's so easy too. Just add a little distilled water whenever it starts to get low. Keeps humidity at 70% almost all the time. Very, very little deviation and always within acceptable range. Love it!

I check my humidor every few days. And I can tell you that while this gel keeps everything at the perfect 70% humidity, no way does it last 90 days between refilling the water. I'm lucky if I get 3 weeks. Not a big deal, but just not as described. Works much better than those tiny gel test tubes I had no luck with.

We bought this unit 6 months ago to try and cool our 2nd floor (3 rooms). I set the unit to 70 degrees and it would constantly freeze up (meaning, ice would form after about 1 hour). I noticed that the unit drew more air in than it blew into the room. Giving the unit the benefit, I sealed everything in the room as tight as I could (insulating, foaming, etc) and closed off the other 2 rooms. It managed to cool that one room (12 x 16) but still would ice over on days of 100+ degrees (unit set for 70 degrees).

Heat pump: I turned it on in mid October. Today (December 10th), all of the lights on the front panel were blinking on and off and the unit would not turn off using the control panel power button. I unplugged it from the wall and left it sit for an hour. Plugging it back in (an hour later), the unit would run but all of the lights were flashing on and off with no control over the power.I am awaiting customer service to contact me to see how they will react to the 1 year warranty. I will try to post what has happened to keep consumers informed.

This rather expensive portable air conditioner is of very low quality, and it's also very poorly designed.

First of all, the air conditioner leaks water from the base. I purchased one, it leaked, I returned it, and the replacement leaked as well.

In order for a portable air conditioner to work properly, it needs to have a two hose design so that one hose takes in outside air to cool the compressor and the second hose expels the hot air from the unit to outside your house. This air conditioner only has one hose that vents the hot exhaust through a window to the outside of your house. This mean it takes in cool air from inside your house and blows it outside to cool the compressor. This creates a partial vacuum inside the house, which results in warm, humid air being drawn in from the outside to fill the partial vacuum. The intake of warm humid air almost completely offsets the amount of cooling this unit is able to provide. Using this unit alone in one small bedroom, the temperature would often be above 80 degrees F on hot July and August days. That's not acceptable performance for such an expensive air conditioner in such a small room.

For a portable air conditioner to work efficiently, it needs to have two hoses: one for intake and one for exhaust.

Lastly, the compressor and fan on this unit are very very loud. It's difficult to watch to TV or carry on a conversation while the unit is running.

I do not recommend this product to anyone.

I bought this unit two days ago when the temperature in a recreation room (fully insulated, measuring 35' x 17' or 595 square feet. Note: unit is rated for 550 square feet) over my garage reached temperatures of 98 to 100 degrees in this latest heat wave in New Jersey. The reason I purchased the "Soleus Heat Pump Air Conditioner" is because I wanted the duality of an air conditioner and heater.

The set up was not difficult, the window assembly kit that fits in the window had to be cut down, as required in the instructions to fit the window. That took about 5 minutes to measure and cut. Total set up time was about 35 minutes. Of that time twenty minutes were spent trying to understand the directions.

The instructions are not the best. There is a hose for draining water from the unit that is not mentioned anywhere in the instructions. The unit has Control Panel and Digital Display that is easy to use and a Remote Controller. The unit also has a timer and louvers that will oscillate up and down to circulate the air. What is not mentioned in the general instructions but under the Remote instructions is that the timer and oscillator can only be accessed through the Remote. However, none of this is insurmountable. After a few minutes of flipping back and forth between pages it can be figured out.

The venting kit that comes with the unit should have supplied some gasket material to put between the exhaust panel and the window. Luckily I had some sponge rubber gasket to assure a good seal. Also, it is a tight fit between the window sill and exhaust hose that fits into the window kit.

After I had the unit up and running I insulated the flexible PVC exhaust hose as per the instructions. The hose becomes quite warm and the heat from it will radiate back into the room, so insulating it makes sense.

Today as I am writing this, July 22 2011 at 1 pm, it is 101 degrees outside in the shade and very humid. In the room over the garage "Soleus" unit is maintaining a constant 82 degrees with 54 percent humidity. I consider that good, the main part of my home has central air set at 72 degrees and it is struggling to maintain the temperature at 74 degrees.

I consider the "Soleus" unit to be working pretty good for a portable air conditioner with extremely high temperature outside. I expect better results when the temperature gets down to the low 90's where it is more normal for summer here.

Seems to work adequately as an air conditioner. I thought I might not need to, or want to run our old dehumidifier. I purchased the LX-130D to use in the basement and expected that it would work even better at removing moisture than the old dehumidifier. The old stand alone dehumidifier runs for a fraction of the time to achieve the same level of de-humidification. The air conditioner and heater work well but are not super powerful.

I bought this unit and it lasted though the summer. When I went to turn it on the next summer it didn't work. Now the warranty is over. I took it into Sear's for repair to find out it had a hole in the condenser. Sears was unable to get the part from Soleus Air. I called Soleus Air direct and they informed me that I could ship them the unit as my cost and they would diagnos the problem at $45 and hour then tell me what it would cost to fix. I told them I already new it was the condenser. I just need to know how much it would cost to replace the condenser to see if it was worth it to send the unit. They refused to give me the information. I would have to do it their way or no way. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. 1st, it does not last. 2nd, really bad customer service. So now I have a large paperweight for sale!!!

My DH and I attended several classes in preparation for our DS's arrival. One of the classes was for breastfeeding. The instructor (not someone I would recommend) made a point to warn everyone that the boppy pillow was in no way, shape, or form a useful item and that a conventional pillow would more than suffice. Considering the price ($40+) I said okay and left it at that. Well, I'd left the boppy pillow on my wish list (somehow organizing that was not a top priority with the arrival of our DS). My dad purchased it for me for Christmas and let me know it was coming. Well, it arrived tonight at 8:30pm CT. At 9pm CT I was using it to nurse. At 9:00:01 I had fallen in love with it. It's incredibly soft, the monkey is adorable, the colors are more vibrant than in the picture, it fit around me rather well (I'm a plus size lady) and my son was happily sucking away. I've used it since a couple more times, as has my husband. We both adore it and have tried several different positions with it. All of them have been comfy and led to a stuffed and happy baby. I would definitely recommend this pillow to any mother, nursing or bottle feeding. Completely worth the money. My only regret is that I didn't buy it sooner!

Simply said...must have basic. Meets all the requirements. Comfortable for feeding, tummy time, lay back and relax time for baby. Soft cuddly, they get the human feel. I bought this after I bought the mother's best friend pillow and it just did not do the trick. Amazon please change picture, pillow does not come with the little lamb blanket.

I really love this its versitile and had I breastfed I probably would have used it more. My boyfriend uses it more often than I do because it keeps his arm from going to sleep while holding the baby. This is a very nice looking soft pillow but unfortunatelly I could not use for breastfeeding. It kept sliding and did not stay in place. I had to readjust it every minute which was very annoying. Not sure what the hype is about with all the 5-star reviews. After struggling for a week, I gave up on this pillow. Instead, I ordered my breast friend pillow from Target and I am so happy I did. It was 10 dollars less too! It works so much better and stays in place!

If you've used humidity beads before, then you are aware that they are the easiest, cheapest (in the long run), and best solution for cigar humidity. And if you haven't used them but are looking for a new method because you're sick of buying glycol/Boveda packs, etc., then just order this. I won't bother discussing the merits of humidity beads; they are already the standard method used by knowledgeable cigar aficionados worldwide.

This is a very large tube and will easily regulate the humidity in your standard large desktop humidor. It's pretty much a facsimile of the Heartfelt Industries tubes (or it could be the same seller. *shrug*) but seems to be even bigger than their biggest size. And, as is the case with humidity beads, the more the better and means longer, continuous stable humidity, regardless of the size of your humidor or amount of cigars.

Lastly, mine arrived in a single day. Amazon Prime made this transaction so easy, and the price is right. I have no reservations and would (and will!) buy it again.

And no I did not over saturate the beads . After very carefully wetting the beads by opening the ends and dripping distilled water or spraying the sides , Was not getting much humidity from the beads and getting gritty particles all over my humidor . I have to place it on plastic wrap to contain the mess. I dumped out the beads into a bowl and found about 25% saturated and about 2 teaspoons of gritty destroyed beads . I sprayed the beads with 5 good sprays and put them back into the tube .I am hoping for better results .Dumped out beads the next day more crumbles very few saturated beads.And humidity did not rise . I will do what another poster did and order loose beads from another company and use this tube .Again I Did Not Over Saturate the beads .

The beads arrived with a generous quantity of flaky, crumbly dust. Most of the beads were already shattered. Upon being lightly sprayed with distilled water, they began making "crackling" sounds and broke apart even more. I'm already down to about half the volume of beads as there was originally little over a month ago.

Functionality-wise, they were a joke. They couldn't handle the volume of my 100 count humidor with only 50'ish cigars for anything longer than 1 week before needing to be sprayed down again. And every time I took them out to spray them, they sprinkled impressive amounts of gritty silica dust everywhere.

The container tube is pretty decent, though. I bought a different brand of beads to replace these (and am very happy with them), and I am still using this tube in the humidor.

I wrote earlier about the beads coming apart and white sand like stuff all over my humidor well it may have been my fault, i contacted Quality Beads and they asked if i had over saturated the beads and if so i guess they could expand too much and brake apart. It's possible i may have. The instructions should warn you about that anyway the service is great their sending me beads to try again. Thanks Quality Beads...
