I've had this humidifier for 3 years and it has been a great machine!! I use it every night, mostly in the fall and winter months, without fail. It is quiet and small enough to place on a night stand by my bed. I use purified water and I don't have any problems with white dust or water spots. I would recommend 2 of these for larger bedrooms or living areas. Very easy to use and keep clean.

I've been using this machine for 2 weeks in a bedroom every night to stave off the drying winter months. It's quiet, functional, and relatively cheap. For a small room, consider this product!

This review is from: Ultrasonic Humidifier w/ Nightlight by Air Innovations no explanation was rec'd on the packaging slip which also indicated a (black unit). In addition, if you are looking for a humidifier to cover an extremely small area and I mean small (i.e. nursey room no bigger than -8 x 10then this might be useful. The item was ordered to cover a small bedroom, but I find it's just a waste of electricity. The machine runs full for approximately 5-6 hours, and then it's empty with a significant amount of water left in the base. I would only give this a (1) star rating and that's only b/c of the style, size and it is indeed a quiet device. Overall dissappointed.

We bought two of these humidifiers but through a local store, not Amazon. This is an attractive unit with both warm and cool mist options. We really like that there are two nozzles that can be swiveled to where you want the mist directed. It has a capacity that lasts for about a day or so depending on what mist intensity you choose. It is easy to clean and can be run without a filter which leads to lower cost for the long run. It is also very quiet and can be used in a bedroom. I also appreciate that it has a small footprint so takes less room on a counter.

My two wishes for improvements would be to make it a top fill for even easier use and a humidistat so it would shut off at a desired humidity but theses are both minor requests. Overall I am very pleased with this unit.

Love the design and small footprint. We're using it in the bedroom, so far on warm mist.

There are two openings for the mist that can be place in different directions. It's easy to fill. We find ourselves filling it every other day, using it on a low setting which is sufficient for our mid to large sized bedroom. I hope it continues to work for a long time.

My humidor is down to 67% and dropping. It may be the Xikar solution. The Xikar combo of solution and humidifier does not work.

User error. I expected the RH to remain in the 70-75% range where my Savoy humidifier kept it. After discussions with Xikar support I learned that the Xikar 50 will keep RH above 62% and under 70%, the preferred range. After 3 weeks of use the RH has remained in the 63-68% range.

With Xikar solution keeps my humidor at exactly 70%. It says allow 20 minutes to absorb on refill, really only takes 5 to 10 min

I've had my trusty humidor for a while and thought it was time for an upgrade so I shopped around and considered my options. I had finally choose this product! It is a great crystal humidifier which is a big upgrade from the original sponge. It keeps a constant humidity of 70% with the Xikar Solution which is needed. A paper warns not to use 50/50 solutions but Xikars own solution. Truly the Xikar solution offers a more stable humidity levels over time while the 50/50 solution will fluctuate more and might gum up the humidifier. Xikar says their solution evaporates evenly for a more balanced level of humidity without the rapid fluctuations of the 50/50 solutions. So to be on the safeside I would recommend you purchase the Xikar Solution. The humidifier is clear so you know visibly when to refill with solution as you can see the crystals have shrank and shriveled. They swell up when refilled and disperse the solution over time! It will be months before you need to refill!

All in All, it's a great product and highly recommended 10/10

I have two of these units. If your Humidor is right out the box, dry, it will take at least a week of this unit running non stop. Also depending on the size of your humidor. One trick I used was to shut off the display and just let it keep on running. Many people say the readout is wrong by ten degrees. I have three readouts and it is off by one or two degrees.

It gets the job done... with a couple of caveats.

First off: the unit is small. It fits under the lid of a personal humidor as advertised. This means the water reservoir is small, as well. If you live in a dry climate like I do (Southern California), you will need to refill the unit often. It will be running frequently. If you want a small unit this is a fact you need to live with.

Second: don't use the battery pack. When the unit runs frequently it drains the batteries quickly. As the voltage drops the unit gets quirky and doesn't read the humidity accurately. Just run the unit off of the wall plug and everything works great.

Third: don't use distilled water to refill the unit, use a Glycol Solution. With the frequent refills required in a dry climate, the small sponge in the reservoir will not maintain its mold prevention properties for any length of time. And nobody wants fuzzy cigars. Either that, or be prepared to buy refill cartridges regularly.

If these three items are things you can accept, the unit will live up to expectations.

I only rated 4 stars because I really wanted the Ultra to run off of the battery pack and was forced to use the wall plug. Other than that, I really like the unit.

It is currently running in a desk-top, 75 cigar humidor half filled with Arturo Fuente Hemingway Signatures.

As a cigar enthusiast, I'll pay a pretty penny to make sure my puros are kept in top form with a good humidor and proper humidification. I was excited about this product when I read about it. Initially, it seems to work as advertised. I used the batteries instead of the A/C adapter just because of the configuration of the space where my humidor is located. After a week or two, an audible alarm was sounding. Hmmm. Nothing in the instruction booklet says anything about an audible alarm. All it says is that you will get one of two messages in the LED display if the unit is either low on batteries or low on water. So, I added water and replaced batteries, and as I was rebooting the unit, I got a display that said "C1.5". Hmmm. Nothing about that in the instruction booklet, either. So, I found the supplier's website in which they prominently display their phone number. No one home, so I left a voice mail and my return call number. 3-4 weeks it's been, and no return call. In the meantime, whenever I would check my humidor, the display unit kept reading 58% humidity. No way. My analog humidity dial didn't register that low, so I checked my unit with a psychrometer (that's a device that will register relative humidity available at any hardware store). Indeed, the unit was falsely registering low humidity. So, I added new batteries and re-booted again, and now, the unit seems to be registering the humidity correctly. For this kind of gadget price: (1) it needs to work flawlessly as advertised; (2) instructions need to include all information about the unit, including the mysterious "C1.5" readout, and (3) the supplier ought to have the good manners to at least return a phone call. My advice is look elsewhere and don't spend your money on this one.

Easy to set up; almost maintenance free. I've had to refill the distilled water cartridge a couple of times after a loud alarm alerted me it needed it. My digital hygrometer reads a steady 70 degres and my cigars are perfect.

Works fine but must be replaced every winter. If you have medium to hard water there's lots of white calcium crust that needs to be cleaned out of the humidifier.

The filters fit perfectly. They are slightly different than the original, in that they have an aluminum mesh on one side. I assume this is to help the filter keep it's shape, and is thus a good idea. Shipped pretty fast. I'm not sure what else to say. They're filters.

I bought these for my Lasko humidifier. Its really dry up here in the mountains. Well, these Bestairs don't hold together as well as the Laskos. You can only use them once. If you try to wash them a second time thay fall apart!

Fits my Natural Cascade Super Humidifier perfectly ... but it would have been nice if there were instructions some where on the box. The filter comes silver on one side but no where does it say how to install it. Silver side to the air or to the machine? I couldn't find these replacement filters in any local store ... so I'm very happy to have found them here.

These filters are bigger and sturdier than the ones that came with the filter. However, just like the ones that came with the filter, they shrink upon use. Once a week, soak them in vinegar and turn them over. Soaking them prolongs their usefulness. They should last a season.
