I did a lot of searching for a product that would help curtail the white dust that is created by a humidifier. This does what it says it will, am very happy with the results. Our water is medium hard and this works great. We run the ultra sonic humidifier every night so is important to have this product which is made for the ultra sonic machines. Only a cap full per tank. I ordered 3 bottles of this, it was shipped VERY fast! I will reorder when I need more.

I bought a Sunbeam ultrasonic humidifier that works well except that it requires water treatment tablets in order to prevent scaling and a white film being intoduced into the room. The problem was that the tablets are almost impossible to find in stores or online. I bought this product, put two capfulls into the water tank and now there is no more scaling and no more white film on my furniture. Compared to the tablets its also a lot cheaper. No complaints on this one.

I bought this product to help reduce or eliminate the white dust caused by my ultrasonic humidifier. It is also supposed to help prevent buildup on the inner workings of the unit. I can't speak for the inside of the unit, but I can truly say it did not help with the white dust issue at all. I will either have to use distilled water or buy a new humidifier.

I am in CA & get the white dust when use the humidifier. Was optimistic about this, & it does help a little if you use double the amount, but didn't work as great as I'd hoped. The seller was great & shipped it very quickly, just not sure if there is a cure for white dust other than a filter humidifier.

I use ultrasonic humidifiers and lots of problems with white dust emissions and bacteria buildup and sometimes a "slime" getting deposited on things including my skin and hair! So while I treat my nasal allergies and blockages and breathing problems, I'm irritating my skin and scalp with all these deposits. I have tried every type of humidifier and always go back to Pure Guardian with a built-in silver filter. They produce a lot of white dust but using this treatment keeps the water sanitary so i get a lot less funky stuff on my skin. I use actually 3 caps in each tankful which is probably 3 times what they recommend, but we have a lot of dust and pet hair in our home being constantly filtered.

I also use the extra filter now for less dust that screws on to the cap of the water tank of the pure guardian which definitely reduces dust at least somewhat. And I always, always use this water treatment to keep the steam from getting "slimy". I don't mind dust nearly as much as that bacteria-ridden slime. And I find this to seem to be gentle enough to use in the Pure Guardian tank. It's also a huge help in other types of humidifiers that build up a lot of bacteria, and better for the machines than bleach.

I have 4 cats and put this near their litterbox. I have the Germ Guardian tower raised up off the floor for better circulation. Within 10 minutes of turning it on the air quality was noticeably fresher! I'm going to order one or two more for other areas of the house. Prior to buying this tower model, I have been using the cool looking stainless steel table model of Germ Guardian air sanitizers for years, I have 5 of those throughout the house and basement. I haven't had a cold since I first discovered Germ Guardians, 4 years ago! I have given 3 of them as gifts. I absolutely LOVE them!! My house smells fresh and clean, even with 4 indoor cats. Bought one of these a month or so ago locally, and have been so happy with it that I'm here on Amazon buying another one for the second floor. It is extremely effective in purifying the air of dust and odors. It has made a huge difference in my allergies. Looking forward to having one cranking on each floor. The filters are rather expensive, but all HEPAs are.

For the price this is the best air filter I've ever used. The filter itself is easy to clean, simply wash it in the sink and dry it thoroughly and pop it back in (just the black part, the rest of it shouldn't get wet). I love it and have it running all the time, my son has breathing issues and I think this has helped him a lot. It moves air really well, but when it's on it's highest setting it is a little loud. Worth every penny though!

Only had unit a couple of days. We are accustomed to white noise to sleep and this unit is perfect on low or medium. Filtering system looks easy to maintain and efficient. Price is very competitive.

Our two gripes are the strong plastic smell the unit exudes. I'm hoping this will diminish with use. Also the blue indicator light bar that shines when the UV-C bulb is illuminated is much too bright for sleeping. I've covered it with electrical tape.

Update 2-7-12 Unit rattles now, not enough to disturb sleep but not "ultra-quiet" as the box advertising states.

Update April 2012. Rattle went away much quieter now. Bearings finally seated or wore in or something.

I find these water treatment tablets very useful keeping the heating element and inside of my room humidifier clean. They do help.

However, I don't rate this product a full Five stars because of two reasons:

1 they're hard to find these days.

2 they are labeled as three (3) months supply, which I find hard to believe. I use one tablet in the tank each time I refill the tank, which is every day, if I use the humidifier on high, or every other day if I use the humidifier on low/medium. Now, for the very cold months, when our house is very dry, these tablets will last me between 12 to 24 days; much less time than the THREE MONTHS SUPPLY as claimed on the package.

However, as I don't use them year round, they will last a while.

Now, these tablets are out of stock, but when I need more of them, I hope I can find them.

This item looks exactly like the OEM one, only a lot cleaner than the one it replaced!

At just 25% of the store price, this was a no-brainer. I took a chance and ordered two pads, even though I had not tried one from this supplier before. I did check to make sure I had the right product number for my model of humidifier.

While the humidifier is quite loud (my dog doesn't hear me coming home when he is in the bedroom & it is running), but I don't mind the noise, I like the white noise when sleeping, it's the fact that the box says "Runs up to 24 hours". I fill it up (it doesn't take a full gallon of water, just under) & run it on low, and it will be very close to empty after 7 hours. And yes, it does say cool mist, but because of the fan, it is very cold! I use this in the winter & really don't need the added cold in my bedroom. Cool, I could handle, but this is a bit much.

I bought it during a sale, but I am so disappointed about this purchase. First, it's super super loud. I cannot imagine how a humidifier can be as loud as this. Second, the mist is distributed by a fan which blew into the air and it's really cold! I only need humidifier in the winter and I do not want to put a "fan" into my room to lower the temperature. Very disappointed!
