I was very excited to use our new diffuser as we already had an assortment of essential oils.. the first day it worked like it was suppposed to, filling the house with wonderful aromas of citrus and herbs, it was very nice! Then it suddenly stopped working. I cleaned it out with alcohol and added fresh water and a few drops of oil again..it worked perfectly....then it stopped after a few minutes. Repeated this process a few more times and finally gave up. Find a different diffuser, this one is junk!

This diffuser is not working as described. The material is NOT a sturdy plastic and I found that the color changing light is already giving me problems. I would NOT recommend it. I am using my old method that works the best. Don't waste your money.Honest reviews on Aromatherapy Oil Diffuser By Canary Products
Love this little unit. Would love to see it come just a little bit bigger. It definitely out performs our old standard humidifier.Thursday, August 7, 2014
Drymistat - Humidor Humidifer Tubes - Set Your Humidor To 70% Review
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $9.95

The Drymistat does its job exactly as it should. Other reviewers have more experience, so I defer to them for details of effectiveness. By the way, the thickness of the tube is ~the same as a cigar tube, and it is 5.5" in length. The instructions advise placing it in the center of the humidor.
There is perhaps some understandable confusion because the instructions could be written better, and that is why a few reviewers had problems with leaking: "Some evaporation may occur while sitting on the shelf. Remove wrapper. Add plain tap water to the Fill line. Put perforated cap on tube and wait for water to be absorbed. . . . A mixture of Propylene Glycol and water has been specially formulated and initially charged into the crystals."
When you receive the Drymistat, pop the cap and take out a crystal. You'll notice it is moist. This is the "initial charge" referred to, and the amount of moisture will depend upon, as the instructions say, how long the item has been sitting in inventory. The instructions mention that the tube has microscopic pores which permit moisture to pass thru; this is why there can be evaporation. All that's required is to add a small amount of water if necessary to the fill line and then leave the tube upright with the second perforated cap on, until that water is absorbed by the crystals, which is pretty quickly. Turn the tube upside down and gently shake it or very gently squeeze it, and any excess water will come out. Now place in humidor and there won't be any leaking. The crystals will shrink as the water transfers to your absorbent cigars or whatever. Refill when crystals shrink below the lower line on the tube. That's all there is to it.
The rule of thumb for one tube per 25 cigars seems like a good one.
I agree with another reviewer that on various vendor's websites, it looks like the purchase price is for a box of tubes instead of a single tube.
For the guy who said they simply didn't work, that seems strange to me, since my experience is they are very effective and simple to use.

Great product. I've had four in my 100 cigar humidor for a few years now. I keep one in my portable humidor, and have one in a zip lock bag for those times when I end up with more cigars than my humidor holds. I have never had a dry or moldy cigar using this product. The rule of thumb for one tube per 25 cigars seems like a good one.

Best Deals for Drymistat - Humidor Humidifer Tubes - Set Your Humidor To 70%
I purchased the product for my 50 stogie humidor. I was amazed when I put it in the humidor with cigars and checked it 6 hours later... humidity was regulated at 71%! I have a caliber III hygrometer so I know it is accurate. After 1 week of having the drymistat in the humidor, it constantly reads 70% humidity. I even checked the high and low humidity that is recorded on the caliber and it read 70%. Easy to use product... you just have to add tap water. Low maintenance as well... fill 1-3 months depending upon conditions. I paid 8$ at JR Cigar.. very inexpensive compared to other humidifying products.Honest reviews on Drymistat - Humidor Humidifer Tubes - Set Your Humidor To 70%
I purchased the Drymistat about 2 years ago and I'm very pleased with it. It's very easy to use and a must have for anyone who keeps more than 25 cigars, especially if your climate is dry. Here are a few tips for those who own a humidor with draws or trays: let the stock humidifier take care of the top drawer or tray and put a drymistat stick in each level. I have a 100ct humidor w/drawers and keep about 80-85 stogies. I keep my premos in the bottom drawer with 2 drymistats and they are aging very well at 64-68% relative humidity. Also, make sure to refill with distilled water. Tap water will leave a brown residue on the beads after a period of time.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Drymistat - Humidor Humidifer Tubes - Set Your Humidor To 70%
This gets the job done, keeps a pretty consistent humidity. But be prepared to use about 5 in a 100 cigar humidor. Use less than three and they need to be filled every few days to a week. I generally recommend them, but make sure you have enough if your not living the rain forest.Tuesday, July 29, 2014
Discount Vornado Replacement True HEPA Filter for Vornado AQS15 Air Cleaners
I'm not sure why, but these wicks do not compare to ones I have purchased in the past. They do not wick up the water which results in nothing but more dry air blowing out of my "humidifier."
Update:
After putting these replacement filters to use, we find them unsatisfactory. When we realized we weren't filling our humidifier nearly as often, we checked the filters and found them to be partially dry. They just do not absorb the water like the original ones, and even running at the highest level are not putting enough moisture into the air.
I be looked at the old filters, and it had white salt 'n'sheet all over it. I told my main: "You gots another beech who be puttin' salt in my humidifier?" He said nah, and he was trying to tell me that there be salt in da tap water that got filtered out in da humidifier.
I kicked dat main to da curb, and I bought me somesa deez new filters, but there starting to be salt in there, so I complained to my landlords, sayin they can't be pumping ocean water into my projects.

We have not yet tried these filters, since we ordered them when our last original filters were put into use, but they are very much less dense than the originals. We are unsure how they will perform compared to the originals. Will submit another review when put into use.Update:

There was no happy medium set point and it ran either all the time or stayed off when it should have ran. I am using this machine in a finished basement music room to keep my guitars from drying out and getting damaged in the winter and appearance was not critical. I hotrodded the unit with a Honeywell humidistat that I got from work (I'm an hvac guy) and it works like a charm. This control has a list price of about $75. The control is mounted crooked on the front of the unit and looks very awkward but the unit now keeps the room in the mid 40 per cent.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Vornado Replacement True HEPA Filter for Vornado AQS15 Air Cleaners

I've owned the cigar oasis for about 10 years now. If you decide to get in to cigars and buy a humidor, I don't recommend you do it is like getting hooked on crack, the cigar oasis or similar electronic humidifier is the only way to go. Buy a cheap humidor with good spanish cedar, and get an electronic humidifier. Everything I've read says the humidifier should be above your cigars in your humidor. In order to do that in a 100 or so cigar humidor like mine, you need a small tank like this one so your electronic humidifier fits in the top tray. This one fits nicely in my humidor and works very well. My stogs usually burn perfectly and season well with this tank. I replace the tanks once a year to avoid mold. These tanks are basically a big sponge. Some of the tanks I've had in the past have come apart internally.

List Price: $759.99

Despite all the negative reviews of this unit on Amazon.com, I found several other positive reviews elsewhere on the internet, and so I decided to give it a try. I'll admit I was skeptical as to how this unit would perform, especially since it seemed to be much less expensive than other 12,000 BTU units AND it included heat pump functionality. That being said, I am quite pleased with its performance so far.
After the terrible process of having to return a damaged portable AC unit of another brand just a week earlier, I was relieved to see when this one arrived at my door in rather robust packaging. Lifting it out of its "easy open" outer box and inner cardboard crate, I was able to observe its features in person for the first time. The multi-color display is a nice touch; the bright VFD display provides simple animations of the unit's current function, as well as a basic clock (used for setting the on/off timer), and the current temperature setting. The remote control sits in a holster on the back of the unit. I found the remote to be a bit bland, with all the buttons but the power button the same size and no distinction of the most frequently used buttons (i.e. temperature, mode) from the less frequently used extras (i.e. sleep mode, Celsius/Fahrenheit setting). The use of the remote is limited anyways since the display on the unit sits facing upward, preventing you from seeing what you are doing unless you are hovering above it.
Installation is pretty straightforward. The user's manual includes several photographs of the installation process, which doesn't differ much from any single-hose portable AC on the market. You simply screw the hose into the adapters and attach the adapters onto the back of the unit and onto the adjustable panel which you close in your window.
So now the important part: how it works. I found the unit to perform quite well. The AC function is plenty cool, and with three fan settings, you can adjust the level of output (and noise) to the current conditions. The heat pump also works well, and I was impressed with the fact that the unit waits to start blowing air into the room until the heat pump has begun generating warm air. That way, on a cold winter's day you won't get a rush of cold air in your face while the unit starts up. After your set temperature is reached, the unit shuts down completely (including the fan). Perhaps handy for some people is an auto mode which automatically heats if the temperature is below 68°F, dehumidifies if the temperature is between 68°F and 80°F, and cools if over 80°F. There also is an oscillation feature which helps circulate the air into the room.
As others have said, this AC unit is not super quiet. While in fan-only mode, the noise is minimal, but while heating, cooling, or dehumidifying, the exhaust fan in the back of the unit adds a considerable amount more. While nobody will be fooled into thinking a jet is landing, some may find it difficult to sleep with the unit in the room if it is doing anything but circulating air.
Just another quick note about draining the water bucket... be prepared to empty it no less often than most air conditioning units, regardless of what the manufacturer claims it can evaporate through the hose. I also agree with others who have said that the drainage plug is really close to the ground, so you may want to place it on a hard surface or elevate it slightly to assist in the drainage process. You do get a short hose and drip pan in the box to help you empty the moisture into a larger pan, but you may want to keep a towel handy as well.
Overall, this air conditioner/heat pump unit is a economical choice if you need all-season comfort in an area of your home. Various room-size estimations abound, some even rating this unit up to 500 sq. ft. My suggestion is that you use this unit for no more than a single large room, as you will probably see much worse performance if you try to heat or cool an entire floor with it. But for supplemental heating or cooling, you really cannot go wrong with the Soleus Air PH3-12R-03.
We call soleus air to use the 1 year manufacturer warranty and indeed they have told me that I will get a new one but I have to ship the old one back at my expense which from michigan to california is $160 shipping and packaging but they don't tell you this and every other company I have ever used pays shipping on a defective product especially one that was only used for a month.
I have $600 into this unit now and they are sending a new one supposedly but what about when this one goes out then I have to pay another $160 to ship it back???? what kind of service is that? My mother purchased one of these units before she had central air installed and she got 2 months out of hers and threw it in the garbage rather than pay the shipping back which is probably a smart move.
I wish that I had asked my mother what brand unit she had before I bought mine it would have saved me $600 bucks and they can keep sending me their junk until one actually makes it a year or I get tired of spending $160 to send them back or get central air which I can't afford but at the price this has cost me I almost could have bought central air.
They were nasty about it on the phone too with the attitude that this is their policy and too bad if you don't like it so if you want to brave it and buy their junk go right ahead but don't say you weren't warned.
The junk companies like soleus air have their people put good reviews on their products it's been a practice of these junk peddlers for a long long time so that explains the couple of good reviews.

I had this AC unit for less than 1 months and it now SCREAMS! due to a bad pump. The manufacturer said they would "look at it" but I had to pay the shipping cost to ship to them in CA. Not worth the cost of the shipping, Total waste of money. NEVER buy from Soleus! Crap manufacturing, cheap plastic parts. poor warranty service. $400 just thrown away for something that only work for 2 months at best! I'd give zero stars if I could! DO NOT BUY, you have been warned!!!!!!Best Deals for Soleus Air PH3-12R-03 Portable Evaporative Heat Pump/Air
I just bought this 3 weeks ago. After numerous window units I thought I would try a portable unit so I could direct the air where I wanted it. First of all this unit was difficult to install. The directions were terrible. I have had a lot less problem with my previous window units. 12,000 BTU's should cool my entire living/dining room. It works okay if you are directly in front of it, but 8-10 feet away just so so. It is as loud as any window unit I have had. It does not cool down to lowest temp so compressor is always on. After running it quite a bit for three days I just had to drain the condensation holding tank which was an experience in and of itself! The plug is on the bottom about a half inch from the floor. It is below the hose so you have to remove that. When you remove the cap, there is no type of plug, so the water immediately begins pouring into the pitiful plastic drainage tray that is provided that holds about 1/2 cup at the most. With a 1.5 liter tank to drain you need to also have a bucket or a bowl and plenty of towels as I found it impossible to stop the flow trying to empty the tray of water into the bucket. Long story short, don't waste your money. Way to expensive for the hassle. I'm going to go have a beer and make up with my dogs who are quivering outside after hearing my yelling of obscenities during the drainage process.Honest reviews on Soleus Air PH3-12R-03 Portable Evaporative Heat Pump/Air

This air conditioner/heater/dehumidifier is highly overrated by the manufacturer. 12,000 BTU should make your home feel like a refrigerator. It doesn't! It doesn't come close to the air cooling capacity of window units with less than half this rating. The drainage outlet is located way too close to the floor thereby not allowing for a hose to drain properly without elevating the unit. While there is a condensation overflow tank drainage again is an issue. I ran the unit for a solid eight hours at the lowest temperature setting/highest fan speed and the first floor of my small home was only marginally cooler. I was very disappointed as I had hoped this was the answer to both my cooling and heating needs.Tuesday, June 24, 2014

Review of Honeywell HCM-1000 3 Gallon Cool Mist Humidifier
Getting another humidifier has become a regular 3-month affair in our household with three bedrooms. Every Walmart/Target brand either has the fan die, is impossible to clean, or the filter is pressed against the side so that water leaks out and ruins the dresser. I've given up on the diffusers since the electrode gets corroded and the moisture just hangs in the corner.
So, we've now grabbed a Honeywell (Humidifier number 8). There is a handle on both the top and bottom of the tank, so it's easy to fill and easy to place into the humidifier. The 3 fan speeds are evenly set (one humidifier had 2 "barely breathing" settings followed by "jet turbine.") The humidity setting is a nice touch, but we usually set it for full blast anyways. The fan grill easily pops off so you can clean the fan blades. The water basin is separate from the motor assembly, so you can conceivably toss the whole bottom frame into the dishwasher to clean out the usual water deposit build-up that occurs with humidifiers. The filter is pretty large and it is not pressed against any of the sides, so NO LEAKS. It's been happily humming for over a month now with no issues.
Yah...I'm happy! I'm writing this as I buy a couple more for the rest of the rooms. It's a great price for a surprisingly capable humidifier.

The sound level at medium is quite acceptable as I like a bit of "white noise" to get to sleep. I can hear the TV at a lowish volume with the unit on medium, if that helps anyone gauge how noisy medium is. The noise level at high is too loud.
They offer a water treatment product to help breakdown minerals in the water. I was unable to find it locally or on Amazon, but the Kaz website sells it for about $3.00 for a small bottle, plus shipping. I thought it was too pricey and hope the filter lasts the season, at which time I'll discard the filter.

We own two of these, and have had no problems with either of them for the past 5 years. For us, they are perfect in the winter for our children's rooms and provide a consistent amount of humidity, a level which we are able to choose. There are 3 fan levels which determines how much humidity is "blown" into the air. The lowest fan level is a soft hum, with the highest being rather loud. In addition, you can customize the level of moisture control; from maximum to light. The machine stops once dry (but remains on) and an indicator light comes on reminding you to either shut it off or refill. Stock up on filters and know that you will need to refill the machine every other night (at least) when used at the medium level of humidity and fan.Best Deals for Honeywell HCM-1000 3 Gallon Cool Mist Humidifier
This Honeywell humidifier works great. I live in the Northeast and bought this humidifier at the beginning of winter this year. It took almost one full week before it reached optimal humidity but it is now so much more comfortable in my house. I've bought other brands at similar price points and this is by far the best. To extend the life of the filter use the Protec cleaning cartridge.Honest reviews on Honeywell HCM-1000 3 Gallon Cool Mist Humidifier
The unit was bought to humidify an average size bedroom. It does it well, (with the door closed) provided it is run on medium speed; low speed just doesn't cut it. The unit is turned on a few hours before bedtime and runs the night.

To its credit, it is compact and pretty quiet. I run it only overnight and a full tank of water lasts 2 or 3 nights. The major flaw is it occasionally overflows at the base when not in operation. Therefore, I have to remove the water dispenser every morning to prevent a surprise puddle of water on the floor during the day.
