Review of White-Rodgers 1F95-1291 Premium Touchscreen Multi-stage

This a full-featured thermostat which will handle most HVAC configurations. I use it to control my furnace and heat pump in a dual-fuel setup. The only improvements I could think of would be a wireless outdoor temperature sensor, more settings for temperature differential, and maybe more parameters for 2-stage furnace control. For the price it's tough to beat.

1F95-1291 White Rodgers Premium Touchscreen Multi-stage or HEAT-PUMP Programmable Thermostat

I purchased and installed the 1F95-1291 thermostat 2 years ago this May.

So far I am very happy with it. It does take a bit of programming knowledge

to get around in it. (Even for me and I program building automation for a living)

My system is a York modulating 95% furnace and a 2 stage heat pump. Everything

purchased and installed in May 2009. I have the system set up as a hybrid. I normally use

the gas heat for the most part because I like it better and its cheaper.

I put in the optional outside air temperature sensor. The wiring for the thermostat

and York furnace/heat pump is a bit complicated. I actually ran 10 conductor to the

thermostat (plus the outside air sensor cable) furnace and heat pump. I am using

almost all of them.

There are tons of features on the thermostat reminder for changing air filter,

reminder for changing the pad on the humidifier. There is a cool savings mode that

will raise the set point based on the humidity in the building. Automatic humidification

which will run the furnace fan and humidifier to add humidity to the building.

There are 39 programming steps for all the options so it gets a bit interesting.

All in all I am very happy with this product...

We bought this for a trip to Canada, as the air there in much drier than in the states. We purchased a bottle of water, and when we got back to our hotel room, discovered that there was not an attachment in the box that fit our water bottle (it was just a normal bottle of Aquafina). So we really weren't able to use this.

I am really impressed with this humidifier. We should have bought it a long time ago. It is very compact, yet puts out a lot of moisture. Use a big bottle and you won't have to refill in the middle of the night.

Best Deals for SPT SU-1053G Personal Humidifier, Green/White

I bought this nifty little item because I travel a lot and hotel rooms are notoriously dry. I've used it twice so far and found it worked well and really helped my sinuses! It's very small -about half the size of a paperback book.

Two things to know:

1. If the fit is too loose, too much water will pour into the reservoir -and that will block the mist from leaving the nozzle. So the next point ---

2. It comes with three adapters, none of which fit a couple of my standard convenience store water bottles -they weren't tight enough. However I improvised by wrapping a small plastic bag around the threads to make the fit tighter and it was fine.

I don't know how long it takes to use up a bottle of water because I went to sleep and it was empty when I woke up. The red light was on, indicating that, but it didn't seem to hurt the operation. Next time I'll go for a bigger bottle.

Overall I'm happy with it.

I have a 1 liter bottle on it and it often experiences "vapor lock" and I have to pick it up and reseat it to get it started again
