I decided not to spend a bundle on my first humidor because I'm not at the level of an everyday smoker, I just enjoy them occasionally so this was a perfect fit for me and my small arsenal of cigars. The humidor is made of beautiful cherrywood, and it includes a humidifier and a humidity gauge, so it has everything needed for a starter humidor. I get compliments on it all the time, and it was definately worth it for the price.

This humidor is very nice, exceeding my expectations considering the economical price. I received the shipment quickly and in fine condition. The dark cherry finish is practically flawless, and the construction quality is well above average. The brass hinges are secure and operate very smoothly. Most importantly, the lid gives the classic puff of air "whoosh" right before it closes, letting me know it is an airtight seal. The humidification element is fine, and the small analog hygrometer is adequate, but cannot be calibrated. A cedar cigar divider was included, which was a nice surprise. My only complaint is that the velcro-type strips included are not strong enough to support the weight of the humidification device. However, I substituted 3M plastic velcro strips I had which are used to hold a tollbooth pass to the windshield, and have had no problems. All in all, this is a great starter humidor for the occasional cigar smoker and I recommend it. The one I purchased and reviewed came from CheapHumidors.

I found this when I started looking for something to take pressure off my junk drawer, I didn't even buy it as a humidor. It was cheaper than the plain wood box I was looking at. Once I got it I decided that was stupid, a humidor is specialized equipment and I might as well use it that way. So now I have a messy junk drawer and stained teeth...great. Anyway, for you humidor newbs like me, to set it up:

Attach the velcro tabs to the inside lid. Use ample quantities of crazy glue, the glue on the velcro will not hold.

Attach the other side of the velcro to the humidification element. Also use crazy glue.

Throw out the included hygrometer and buy a digital one. Trust me, I tried for days to get it calibrated. Best I got was 1.5 points low and it went 15 points lower in 2 days. Junk it. To calibrate, fill a shot glass with salt, wet it to the consistency of wet sand, put a toothpick in it and put the shot glass and hygrometer in a sealed plastic baggie for 8 hours. Adjust the hygrometer to read 75%, repeat to confirm.

Season the wood. Wipe down all the exposed interior wood with distilled or boiled water several times. Leave a shot glass inside with water for a couple days.

Soak the humidification element and a secondary humidification element (I happened to have on hand one of those pillows meant for temporary storage) with propylene glycol solution.

Aim to maintain 69-75% RH.

EDIT: I don't know if the humidifier element is cheap or if this humidor is just kinda low quality, but I'm finding it hard to maintain proper humidity without the shot glass of water. So I keep it in there. Easy.

This is my first humidor and I gotta say it was a great choice, it has a great look and looks good in the living room. The only thing as previously stated by other people is that the hydrometer kinda sucks , I was going to buy a new one at a local cigar shop but the cigar shop guy said a hydrometer isn't really necessary for this box just as long as you keep the humidifier that comes with it filled with distilled water, I still placed the hydrometer at the top part of the box anyway, lol it looks classy.

What can I say, it's a solenoid valve? I needed a new one as my humidifier wasn't always turning on, and the solenoid tested bad. Bought this, replaced it, now it works fine. I do appreciate that you can rotate the mounting bracket to any position you need, since I had to turn it 180 degrees to get it to fit correctly to my humidifier. I'd buy it again (and probably will after another 7 years causes this one to conk out!)

At first glance this is not a bad little humidor for under $20 bucks. But when you compare it to similar priced boxes by company's like quality imports also available on Amazon this thing falls WAY short. The box is made of Very Little wood i'd say 98% of it construction is some sort of particle board. The inside is lined with the thinnest of cedar veneer and the outside paper thin almost sticker like cherry wood veneer. The Seal is a joke as there is not much of a lip to create a tight seal. I have a small unit from Quality Importers I got on Amazon that actually had small magnets inside the Real Wood lid and body that gave extra seal and was about the same price as this unit. My recommendation Even if you are a casual smoker or novice. Save yourself and your cigars the trouble pay an extra $5 bucks and get the Quality imports version.

This is a great buy! Much cheaper than available elsewhere! The only issue is that there is no instruction manual for how to fill the chamber and what to do, so you're on your own with that!

This is a very nice vaporizer. You do have to use the pinch of salt as indicated by the manufacturer, but that's about it. It runs like a dream and is great for a baby's room. I clean mine nightly before using it because I just don't want to have to worry about bacteria build-up. It's very quiet, does the job, and I've used it myself for colds. A very nice investment for a good product.

This vaporizer is easy to clean and effectively humidifies the air in my baby's standard size 10' x 10' bedroom. It is quiet and the nightlight is a great feature to help sleepy parents from bumping into it. However, I returned this 2-gallon version and purchased the 1.5-gallon version which was less wieldy and more than sufficed. But the 2-gallon vaporizer has a handle which was very convenient. The only con is having to soak the heating unit in vinegar each week to clean out hard water deposits. But vinegar is much cheaper than buying special filters required by other vaporizers to prevent bacteria from building up.

I purchased this product in search of something to add moisture to the air in my congested baby's room. We live in Florida and usually it is humid, but not in the winter when we are constantly running the heater. Our water is hard so we didn't have to add salt as the directions describe. This vaporizer runs for about 24 hours without refilling. It has a nice carrying handle and an easy to see fill line. You can easily fill it in your tub in an upright position while holding the handle with one hand. It is quiet and seems to provide a nice white noise for sleeping. It was a great price considering how much you could pay for a humidifier and the filters for one. There is no filter involved here. It keeps my baby's room slightly warmer because of the warm mist. I'm told humidifiers make the room colder, so this product is ideal for the winter season. The only downfall of this product is that you have to be careful to keep kids away, because the mist is hot.

I have owned many vaporizers similar to this vicks unit. I'm going to purchase this one very soon.

To clarify some earlier negative reviews: 1). This is a HOT vaporizer meaning it boils water into steam just like when you heat pasta water children can burn themselves with it. 2). Additionally, if the machine doesn't make steam, you probably need salt. If you've added salt and it sputters, you've added too much. 3). No one should have to scrape the electrodes. They can be soaked with vinegar which will break down the mineral deposits on the electrodes. 4). There is no adjustment mechanism for humidity this is a simple machine for simple folks neat, trim, cheap, but effective.

As far as hot vs cold. Amongst the medical community, the debate of hot vs cold goes on and on. You'll get a different opinion depending on the pediatrician you ask. If your child is of crib age and has no chance of burning themselves by reaching for it go with hot, which won't cool down the air you've already heated (if during winter). If your child is crawling, walking, etc, perhaps cool air mist is better for safety reasons. My last suggestion, if you use this in a small room, leave the door open (even if only slightly)which will prevent super-saturated walls, doors, etc. that previous reviews mention.

I thought this was a 4-Pack sampler when I bought it. I didn't read carefully enough, I guess. I ended up with the cinnamon and was pretty much disappointed with the scent. It ended up smelling like really cheap perfume. The bottle itself smells more like cinnamon, but something happens a while after it was used.

Ok, first off the price advertised is $19.95 but when I checked out the price was $22.95, $3 difference but I still went with it.

The box arrived and considering the cost I was somewhat impressed with what I recieved. The construction was good and the lid fit fairly well. When I allowed the lid to go down slowly it wouldn't close all the way, I needed to push on it which impressed me. Since I didn't have much in this one I decided to see how air tight it really was and filled it up with water (not recommended) and began tipping it on edge. The water of course began to leak out in several places but I let it have a good soaking for about 25 minutes. I dumped out the water and let it dry in the sun with the lid open (inside the house, next to a window. This raised the hairs on wood and created a much tighter seal. I lightly sanded the interior compartment with 00 steel wool and filled it up with water again. Same treatment, sun dried then light sanding on the interior but this time I had very few drops leak out of the box so it sealed up much better.

I checked out the gauge while the water treatments where being conducted and I ended up throwning it in the trash after a few attempts at calibration. The instructions say the variation is %5 +/-, mine was closer to 15% when placed inside a good humidor with a known humidity. I would attempt adjustments and still ended up way off.

The humidification system is a foam type humidifier, I use crystal systems so that went into the trash as well. It would work fine if you want to add the juice but I find the crystal systems to be easier to use.

The size is as advertised dimensionally and looks just like the photo provided. I think I might get 40-50 coronas in there, which is why I bought it. You won't be filling this up with 50 churchills or anything over 50 ring for certain, it just isn't that big.

Overall assessment, I think it is a decent box that can be tweeked to function as a humidor. I won't be putting a box of $300 cigars inside but it should work well to improve the humidity and quality of a bundle of $30 coronas. You should plan on buying a better guage or maybe yours will work better than mine did. I actually am pleased enough with this box that I will be ordering another one. We'll see what my next one is like.
