Yes, it fits my 5550 model vacuum cleaner, but I have to give some force to push it in in order to lock it. Also the quality is not as good as the filter came with the vacuum cleaner. The original fits well and outter body had extra fiber-glass like liner, but not this one, it just plain paper. The original filter lasted me 5 years, I don't think this one will last.

This filter was not available locally and I found it on Amazon. The filter I received fits perfectly inside the cannister as expected. There are three plastic tangs that hold this filter into the cannister. The original filter failed as two of the tangs broke off. So, on this new filter, I remove it to clean it and reinstall it very carefully.

I find that replacing these dust cup filters periodically is indispensable for keeping bagless vacuum cleaners running for a very long time. I change this filter once a year on my nine-year old Eureka 5550A Maxima Upright Bagless Vacuum and it is still hamming away happily.

While it is possible to clean these filters (they are supposed to be washable), over time they get so packed with fine dust that you need to replace them. Good thing these are relatively cheap. However, they are not readily available at local stores, considering they are for models of vacuum cleaners that are pretty old and out of production. So, for many of us, Amazon is the only place to get these for a good price.

About how these filters are named: GE 61770, DCF-4, and DCF-18 are the same thing, as far as I can tell. Whatever you can find the cheapest on Amazon, just get that one. I usually put the model of my vacuum in search "5550A" and I get plenty of options.

This filter is identical to the one replaced by the HVAC company, at one fifth the price. It took me only a couple of minutes to replace it. If you have hard water, the filter needs to be replaced often, so the potential savings can be significant.

I bought the Germ Guardian about a year ago, and a few months ago the bulb needed replacing. I bought 2 replacement bulbs. I installed the first bulb.... which was much more difficult than advertised. The first bulb burnt out in 4 weeks. The seller, elite deals refused a refund or exchange because I was over their "time limit" for a return. So I installed the second bulb. It's burning out now... and it has only been 3 weeks. Don't believe the "lasts 5000 hours" bs. DONT BUY THIS.

I purchased a Germ Guardian EV-9-102 UV-C Air Sanitizer that requires this Germ Guardian EV9LB Replacement UV-C Light Bulb and Filter set. I've only had it since December 3 (it is now mid-March) and the bulb has already failed TWICE!!! I love the sanitizer, because it does improve the quality of air in our 100-year old house, but the replacement bulbs are too expensive to be replacing every other month!!! I'm highly disappointed in the quality of the replacement lights.

This product is a glass light bulb, so, when it arrived in an envelope, I was amazed that it arrived intact!

Anyway, it was a 'snap' to install and worked GREAT from the 'get go!'

The bulb that initially came with our new Germ Guardian only lasted six months, so I hope this one fares better!

BTW, when you disassemble the Guardian to install the bulb, check out how well-built this device REALLY is!

IMHO, it's built like a truck and should truly last a lifetime!

I've had the Germ Guardian for about 2 years.The first bulb lasted 6 months.Second bulb lasted nearly a year but in 2010 the bulbs were burning out at 4-6 weeks.Too expensive to keep replacing and difficult to find locally.
