This is a fantastic humidor. I've seen the same exact model selling for $70 at a fine smoke shop. It is well crafted. The finish is done well and looks very classy.
The inside is fully Spanish cedar lined, very important. The accessories are worthless, but they always are, even in more expensive humidors. You should use a digital hygrometer and humidity beads if you are serious about keeping your cigars well kept.
Says it fits up to 50 cigars, but I've got more than that in there right now, mostly smaller ones, but I'm guessing it would fit 50 churchills or probably 100 petite coronas at least.
excellent buy!

This humidor covers all the basics well. Nice tight seal, lined with Spanish cedar, nice looking, unbelievable price. Here are the reasons NOT to buy this one, but none of these justify dinging the star rating.
1. You may, like me, find that you want a larger humidor. There's nothing wrong with this one, but I found that it filled up too quickly for my preferences.
2. A glass top is worth the extra expense. I find myself opening this one way too often, and a glass top would eliminate 90% of those openings.
That's about it. I use gel humidifier, and I believe a hygrometer is not necessary when using gel. I live in a very dry climate, and gel works great.
You will not find a better humidor at this price.

I actually bought two of these humidors. I bought one for a favorite uncle of mine that smokes cigars, and was having one of those big turning 70 parties. I was at his house one night and noticed that his was starting to fall apart. Knowing how cheap he is, I knew that he would never get a new one for himself, (nor would his family, for they are cheap too). I started out looking in cigar stores for a humidor but very quickly learned that it was definitely not the place to go if you don't want begin at a $100 minimum. This very same one I happen to find at a local smoke shop, and paid more for it there than it is currently being offered at here on Amazon. And I still feel I got my moneys worth. This humidor is very solidly built, and heavy. The mahogany finish is thick and very nicely polished. It is very rich and expensive looking, far beyond what it actually cost. My uncle was thrilled with it, and even told me that I shouldn't have spent so much on him. (Assuming of course that I got it at a cigar store and took a bath on it). I picked up one of those brass name plates at a local craft store and had his initials printed on it. Mounting it with brass screws was a cinch, and it made the box look even more stylish. He was most pleased...I ended up returning to the smoke shop and buying one for myself to store both incense in, and to store my pipe tobacco pouches. I like filling my leather pipe pouches with tobacco and keeping them ready to go, rather than storing loose tobacco in a tin, or pipe humidor. This humidor not only looks classy and handsome on my desk, but it's also excellent at what its supposed to do. I drop about a tablespoon of water in the moistener about once a week, and my tobacco is always fresh and ready to burn. I also keep various incense bricks in the box for they burn slower and sweeter when kept from completely drying out.
I highly recommend this handsome, quality built humidor either for yourself, or as a gift for the tobacco user in your family. And I also recommend buying it here on Amazon, for the price is excellent. There is no question that there are far more expensive and quality humidors to be had, here on Amazon and at many other places. If you, or your intended are a serious cigar smoker who is used to nothing but the best as far as cigars or tobacco is concerned, perhaps hiking up your budget a smidgen and skipping this choice would be a good idea. On the other hand, if you're on a budget like most of us, but still enjoy a good cigar, or know someone that does, this humidor will make a very handsome gift, or a fine addition for your own pleasure. It is much more expensive looking than it actually will cost you, and in my opinion will last you for just as many years as some of the cigar store high end models...
Honest reviews on Quality Importers Capri 25-50 Cigar Humidor, Mahogany
This desktop humidor is a great product for it's price point. The finish is nice and the cedar inside is perfect. I noticed a little ding on the corner of the lid on the outside, but that must have been made before it was stained. I don't mind it since it gives the little humidor some character plus it wasn't like it was put there after the staining process.I kept the round little humidfier the humidor came with along with purchasing a drymistat tube(I recommend everyone do the same if you order any humidor).. The humidfier is a magnetic version that isn't pre-attached. The metal plate that the humidifier is attached to (via magnet) has a sticky foam backing. I didn't much like the idea of sticking that in the humidor box (since I figured the humidity would eventually peel off the sticky part), so I boiled off the foam and glued the metal plate off-center on the inside of the lid. I know I won't need to worry about that ever coming off now (note: I didn't glue the humidifier itself to the inside, just it's magnetic plate). I will do the same with the magnetic plate of the digital hygrometer too (also recommend buying one of those, of course. This humidor box doesn't come with a hygrometer).
(Also, a side note, I realized that the picture above shows a round humidfier nicely pre-placed in the center of the lid. This was not the case with my unit. I had completely bare box insisde with the divider and slightly different looking humidifier placed loosely inside the box so I could place them anywhere I wanted. Just a note for those considering this humidor.)
I live in the very arid state of Montana, so it took me over a week to season this puppy. I use the sponge method (wipe down the inside, let sit for 24-36 hours and repeat if necessary.. I had to do that three times over) The seasoning directions that came with the humidor itself suggest the "shot glass method," but that would take me months with the arid conditions of this state. In the mean time I had my hygrometer calibrated. So now I have a perfectly seasoned humidor at 70% @ 70 degrees F... It's been holding that since I last wiped it down with the sponge.
The seal is good. I did the "drop the lid and make sure it doesn't slam shut method" and noticed the lid came to a resting postition before slowly setting. This means it's a good seal. Just as a precautionary measure, I wiped down the cedar edges that contact each other when closing a little more than the rest of the box during the seasoning process. So it's a nice, but not too tight fit.
I definitely recommend this to anyone interested in buying it. But as always, any company can put out the occasional bad product. So make sure the first thing you do when buying any desktop humidor is check the seal (if the seal sucks, exchange the humidor). It is extremely important that you have a good seal or otherwise you'll be going through a lot of distilled water and drymistat tubes or jars. Which would defeat the purpose of this quality, budget humidor.

This is a decent entry-level humidor, with a few of caveats from my experience. If you're looking to get a decent humidor which can fit a small-medium collection and not break the bank this might be a good choice.Overall, this is a nice humidor if you get a well-made one, or are willing to work with it. I had to slightly modify the front part of my lid, as it was too loose and was allowing humidity to escape, causing a proper-seasoned & maintained humidor to lose humidity at a fast rate. Once I did this, the humidor works great, and now maintains a consistent humidity level. It appears others have similar experiences, although some do not require this modification. My guess is the quality of these humidors varies, and some may be getting humidors with a more snug lid, which means they work well without any modification. Knowing this, it is an easy fix. Still, I only rate it 3 stars since the humidor may not work right out of the box even withs easoning.
My experience is details below:
I purchased this humidor and waited a period of time to review it so I could accurately share my experience with it. After seasoning the wood, inserting appropriate gels and a calibrated hygrometer I was still unable to achieve a consistent level of humidity. Despite all my efforts the humidity level would conintinually drop down to the low 60s (and further if I left it), even with proper seasoning. After reading some of the reviews and other's experiences with this humidor I came to the conclusion that the lid was not sealing properly, allowing humidty to escape. The front portion of my humidor was a bit loose, and I was able to wiggle it back and forth with my hand. I took the liberty of moving it into a tighter position and loding it there. This lead to the lid being too tight, and ultimately made it too hard to open (since there's not a handle/knob). I changed my modification slightly, which allowed for a looser fit for the lid (although still tighter than it was initially) and it now works quite well. I can open and shut the lid without issue, but it doesn't leak humidity like it was doing before. As long as you are aware that you might need to do this to this humidor then I'd definitely recommend it, as it's nice looking and functions well if the lid seals properly.
