I was given this travel humidor by my brother in law for a holiday gift. I'm a corporate pilot so I'm on the road two weeks out of every three. I have used it for quite a while and can honestly say it is awesome. It works perfectly keeps the cigars at the right moistness for a couple of weeks. It's a rugged design and is truly water tight ... I drop mine in a deep puddle about a month ago and when I open it up the smokes where in perfect shape. I tend to smoke a Robusto sized which is about 5-6" long and 50-54 ring (the diameter of the cigar) cigar and it fits five stick with out any problem with room at the bottom for my cutter. I would recommend it to anyone who travels and likes to bring some of their own sticks with. The price is a steal other comparable 5 cigar travel humidors run from $20 to $40. Buy it you'll love it. I do!!!!!!!!

Water tight, shock resistant and keeps the sticks humidified?! This is seriously one of my most favorite parts in my cigar smoking kit. Right next to my XTend lighter. The quantity is perfect. Five cigars will last me about two days of smoking and occasionally gifting a stick to people I meet and friends.

Pick on up and give it a try. The price can't be beat.

I bought this case for my Dad who is retired and does a lot of traveling. He travels by car, plane and cruise ship. The 5-cigar caddy is perfect for these trips as 4-5 cigars is usually how many he'll smoke on a typical vacation. The case is extremely tough and durable, but also quite compact and light. He loves it and uses it often.

Honest reviews on Cigar Caddy® 3400

The foam padding inside this case isn't like memory foam, so once its compressed.. you are stuck with that shape. I burn all shapes and sizes of cigar, so this was a bit of a problem for me. Even before compressing the foam with larger cigars, only the larger ones were held securely. Most others rolled and slid around inside. The foam is only held in by thin double sided tape-like material, so it can easily be replaced if one chooses to do so. I noticed that the ridges in the foam holding the outside cigars keeps them too close to the edges of the case. If you aren't careful this rubbing can damage the wrappers.

The case seals perfectly and the latches are great. I've noticed a lot of people complaining that they fall off easily, but that is only if you push upward instead out outward while unlatching the case. Even so, they simply slide back on. The case is a bit bulkier than I had expected and has significant weight to it. If you smoke higher end cigars this becomes a fair trade off for the seemingly indestructible protection that it provides.

Now, to my biggest beef with this product... the humidifier disk. It doesn't hold more than a couple drops, has tears in it, and falls apart after the first couple uses. It also over humidifies the parts of cigars that are close to the disk not allowing them to burn properly. The simple solution for this is to do away with the disk, and keep a humidifier tube in the case with the cigars. Unfortunately this takes from the capacity of the case.

With some fine tuning, this could be an amazing product! I use it to carry 3 smokes and a humidifier tube, and after modifying the foam it works pretty well. It is slightly overpriced in my opinion, but it serves its purpose.

Now I received mine in a sampler from Cigars International, it came with 8 cigars & this Herf-A-Dor for $20, shipping included, so my suggestion would be to look around & try to find that deal. This thing was made to hold up, SOLID by all definition, when I first opened it, it actually gasped. If that doesn't tell you this thing closes tight, not sure what will. It'll carry 5 Churchills or 10 Nubs, all depends on what you're smoking really. The little humi disc is small but I don't think it's really meant to hold cigars for months at a time. I noticed that mine stayed good for about a week or two which is fine for me. I'd definitely recommend this & have. I had 2 friends buy that same sampler combo that I did & we all love it. The cigars were good & this humidor just can't be beat.

I just bought 2 of these 00325W units . Neither would display an odd fahrenheit temperature reading. For example, while the device would display 66,68,70,72 degrees it would not display 67,69,71,73 degrees. It just moves in 2 degree increments. I contacted the manufacturer twice. The first time by phone they said the device was defective. The second time by email they indicated that the device was made to measure centigrade degrees, and that its software was the problem in not displaying the odd digits in fahrenheit. I've owned both cheap and expensive measuring devices previously, but even the cheapest could display all the fahrenheit digits, which this unit cannot.

Unlike the temperature readings, the humidity readings do display all digits.

This 'Home Comfort Monitor' was exactly what I was looking for when I recently purchased my new Honeywell HCM-6009 QuietCare 9-Gallon Output Console Humidifier with Air Washing Technology. My initial objective was to establish a baseline humidity level prior to running the humidifier. the Acu-Rite did a great job. It had sat on my (cold) porch for a few hours prior to being unpacked. It took about 2 hours for the temperature and humidity readings to settle down. Once they did, it provided a steady reading.

With batteries installed, the devices weights in at just under 4oz. It is about 3.5" tall at the highest point (the top of the device slants towards the front). The device is just under 3" wide, and is roughly 1.5" thick. It certainly isn't large, but is slightly bigger than I had imagined from the pictures. The Acu-Rite has a fairly strong magnet on the back of the battery door. The magnet is strong enough to easily hold the devices own weight on my refrigerator. I found the magnet to be pretty useful when obtaining humidity level readings from various locations in my home.

The unit's 2.5" diagonal screen is split into two functional areas: INDOOR HUMIDITY and TEMPERATURE. Humidity is on the top, and displays the current humidity reading, the trend (displayed as an arrow heading up or down) and the hi/lo for the last 24 hours. The hi/lo reset seems to be tied to the time the batteries are inserted. Meaning, if you initially powered up the device at 7:23 PM, it will reset each night at 7:23 PM. The humidity section also includes a house icon that indicates status of the humidity level on a three tier scale (High, OK, Low).

The unit's temperature section has a similar but slightly simpler layout. The current temp in numbers just over 1/2in in height on the left. A small trend arrow just to the right of the current temp. The hi/lo for the last 24hr period (as described in the humidity section).

I can't imagine expecting much more from a small/inexpensive temperature and humidity monitor. A safe bet.

I purchased this to monitor the temperature and humidity in the basement, and it seems accurate. The readout is clear and easy to read. The only drawback is that you can't mount it to a wall as it's slightly curved on the back, which isn't apparent from the photograph.

Honest reviews on Acu-Rite Home Comfort Monitor

Since it's nearing around winter time I bought this locally so I'd have a way to monitor the humidity of my computer room.

There isn't much to it in that it simply displays the current humidity, current temperature, whether or not the humidity level is OK an the recorded high and low temperatures. The casing is nice and has a magnet on the battery cover.

As for the high and low memory...It's not stated in the manual so I browsed Acurite's forums (which I'd give a huge plus in that each product has its own little forum) for an answer. Apparently it resets every day at the time when the battery is installed. Can't complain although then again mine is set to roughly 2PM.

I purchased a thermometer for the simple purpose of wanting to know the temperature. I took the unit out of the box and inserted a battery. It told me that my office temperature was 77f. I didn't believe it, as it felt much colder. I then took it outside where it was known to be 46f, however the unit continued to read 77f! Later in my office, the readout fluctuated between 73 and 75 f, both completely inaccurate numbers.

I bought this to deal with cat litter dust in a small apartment. I was hesitant to purchase this due to the high price and bad past experiences with other air cleaner products (noisy, poor quality) years ago, but have had good experiences with Sharp plasmacluster technology built-in to late-model Toyota/Lexus vehicles, so I decided to take a chance. The unit is very stylish (more-so than the pictures would indicate) and seems well constructed. It's assembled in China by Sharp.

The fan is very quiet on the lowest setting, which was important to me as the unit will run continuously. The electronic dust sensor is phenomenal. It really does detect dust in the air that's too small to see. I have the machine 6 feet from my cat's litter box, and within a minute of my cleaning the cat's mess from the litter box, the Sharp's sensor display changes from green to orange and then red, and the fan kicks into high gear. After a few minutes of cleaning the air, the display returns to green and the fan slows to its normal quiet speed. The display is actually entertaining to look at -it comprises four vertical plus/star icons that can change color and/or blink softly to indicate various amounts of contaminants in the air. To allow tailoring of the sensor to one's environment, it's sensitivity can be set to any of three settings (low, med, high), to either increase or decrease the amount of contaminants required to make the machine increase fan speed. It is also possible to manually set the fan speed. The front panel indicator lights can be dimmed or shut off for nighttime use in bedrooms. One benefit of the contaminant sensor display is that it enables optimal placement of the machine to filter the air -simply place the machine in various locations, note the site at which the sensor indicates highest contaminant level, and place the unit there.

The plasmacluster feature is very quiet; a soft clicking can be heard only if one puts their head to the machine. It can be disabled, for those who may be anxious about potential health risks. From what I've seen researching the potential health effects online, there are no scientifically valid explanations of actual health risks from plasmacluster. The feature is supposed to kill germs in the air, and as my primary purpose of this unit is to clean the dust/smell of cat litter from the air, I am glad to have the feature.

This unit is fairly compact about the height of a dehumidifier but a bit skinnier. Although the instructions state to place the unit 1-2 feet from the wall for optimal air flow (intake vents are on rear, output vent is on top), I have found the unit performs fine when even when only about 8 inches from the wall.

An added bonus of this unit is it has a humidifier built in, along with a digital humidity read-out, reducing the number of space consuming appliances required in wintertime.

The HEPA filter is rated to last 5 years, so hopefully consumables will not be overly expensive.

The instruction manual is well-written and easy to follow. All in all, an excellent product!

Offhand, I own two FP-P40CX, one KC-150U and two KC-860 units. Suffice to say that I am a fan of Plasmacluster (PIC) technology. While a Blueair MD Pro sits by one side of the bed, a KC-860 sits by the other. An IQAir HealthPro Plus is situated in the family room with a second KC-860 not far away. Lose one point for not retaining the timer and remote control found in previous generation FP models. As of February 2011, the KC-860 is the most powerful stand-alone PIC, room purification unit available to the general public as a consumer purchase. Despite its rather flimsy carbon filter and tested in various bathrooms and a kitchen, the KC-860 does an excellent job of controlling odors so long as the Plasmacluster feature is used. Pre-filter is built into the unit housing (ala Austin Air) for ease of maintenance. KC-860 uses the same exact filters as do KC-100U/KC-150U/KC-850U for ease of filter sourcing. Ion generation crackle is clearly audible on these new models and is likely attributed to greater plasma and hence, ion output. Humidifying filter life can be extended through the use of a silver kill coil within the water tank. Unit can be run dry without the humidifying function in operation. Does not adequately cover stated square footage. CADR = Room Size = 245 Square Feet Area Coverage. Assuming ambient readings, the humidity sensor is typically off by less than 9% versus readings off a Kestrel 4200. Though its one-year warranty manufacturer leaves much to be desired, the KC-860 combines lightweight HEPA and carbon filters, electrostatic filtration and active hydroxyl radical sanitization under a brand name synonymous with good quality over the years. All in all and despite its shortcomings, the KC-860 represents a sane choice in a middle end room purification system that gives mid-high end models a run for their money and then some.

Good things: I had this for a year. It was better than FU-A28U that I'm using now. Comparing to FU, the KC sucks and blows much more air but similarly loud, and has an extra washable filter. The FC was able to "clean" my bedroom in hours after I got out from smoking in the bathroom, but the FU struggles a whole day. The sensor is really sensitive and useful for the lazy people.

Not-so-good things: For the price I could have 4 FUs instead of this single unit. Secondly, the water reservoir tend to attract insects. Therefore, if humidifier is used, one will have to clean the unit and replace the water every few days. And then the sensor unit is hard to clean. it's got small holes nearby that trap dust that'll affect the sensor.

This is making our 400 sqft living room comfortable. In addition, less noisy than a Honeywell purifier I am using.

I tried to save a few bucks and order from another website that claimed they had it in stock. After i put my order in they emailed me and said it would be two weeks. Once the two weeks was up they said it would be another two weeks becuase it has to ship from the manufacturer. Two weeks later they said there was a delay.. I canceled my order and ordered from amazon. I got the purifier in a week!! The product itself is great. Its incredibly quiet and the nite off button is great. Only complaint, not really against the product, but humidifiers in general, you have to fill it up twice a day. But i definitely noticed the air quality difference. I wake up feeling great. I keep it in my bedroom, i dont think it could clean much more than one room..

I can't ding the product for my water supply. I have hard water, and my 10-gallon humidifier gets this water. It's not worth trying to use my kitchen water purifier to get soft water.

Anyway, this product works as described. I always buy them in bulk, as I don't know when the filters gets that musty smell and have to be replaced. Again, not the fault of the product just don't use them with hard water.

This filter by BestAir is thinner than the Vornado brand, however I have found that makes no difference. Both brands get stiff with minerals at the same rate, and both get smelly after they've been filtering the air for a couple of months. Buy the cheaper one.

Honest reviews on BestAir H55-C Holmes HWF-55 Replacement Wick Filter

I purchased 6 boxes for my Vornado HU1 whole room humidifier. I'm on my 4th box after 3 months of almost continuous use. They do not compare to the Vornado MD1 factory wicks. Even at half the price they are not worth it.

1. Although they look like an exact fit, they are not. They are slightly skinnier so they collapse inward. I solved this by wedging straws to keep them against the ventilation fins.

2. In the first two fillings the BestAir work just like the factory ones, but by the third filling (36 hours) they diminish by 50%!! Why? I do not know. They are plenty saturated. Mind you, I am meticulous with cleaning the unit and monitoring the humidity in the room. I have many wooden musical instruments that are valuable and must be kept at 70% humidity. I have two other humidifiers in the same room running simultaneously that use sunbeam universal wicks. They both put 1 gal of water in the air every 8 hours. They begin to diminish after 3 weeks. My Vornado with the factory wicks would put 1.5gal of water in the air in less then 12 hours for 3 weeks. When I switched to Best Air wicks it is now only 1.5gal every 24 hours! Thats half as efficient as the Vornado wicks. At half the price that puts us about even. Except now I would need to add another humidifier in the room to make up for the inefficiency. No way. I'm going back to the $14 Vornado wicks or try and cut custom wicks from Sunbeam universal at $10 a box.

I have a Holmes humidifier and this unit fits perfectly. Be sure to check your humidifier to see what size you need. Looking at the original wick filter and this replacement I can see no difference. My only gripe is that to keep postage down it arrived in a plastic mailing envelope and not a box so it could have been crushed. Luckily it was not.

Have recently had to have a humidifier in my bedroom at night to help with sinus problems in the winter. Wanted to have that same benefit at work, but did not want big, bulky or drippy machines. Received this at Christmas and I love it! It really cranks out lots of cool vapor mist with no noise and absolutely no condensation on the desk or papers. Everyone has commented on how cute it is. My sinuses are happy and so am I.

I got LASIK and got a nice big humidifier for my home to help battle the dry eye discomfort that comes with getting LASIK and I never had a problem at home but at work was a different story. It was so dry at my work place that my eyes would get so dry that they would start to have a burning feeling so I bought this cute little humidifier to sit at my desk and it is great!! It is nice and small perfict for sitting on the desk. It is so quite you forget it is even there. I bought it for my eyes but have also noticed an improvement in my breathing, my nose doesn't get as plugged up and I see a difference in my skin I don't need to hardly use lotion or chapstick anymore it is so nice!!

The spring/cotton/sensor didn't work well after a refill. The stream of mist turned into puffs of mist. I tried replacing the cotton nothing...I have to tilt the lid to make it work (yes it was opened. It was the only way the sensor door stays all the way open). The sensor was not working correctly. When the little slider is open all the way, it works great. If they can improve on the product, I think it will be awesome. Great concept, bad parts & lots of typos in the instruction.

Honest reviews on Doulex Mini Coffee Cup Mist Humidifier USB powered

My office manager ordered about 5 of these for those of us who wanted some around our static-heaven office. We all squealed with delight at the great little "cup" design. Setting it up was an hour of fun for all, as we had to muddle through "Engrish" instructions and do a little tailoring for each machine to get it to function properly. The tricks that worked for some (gently poking the silver top where the mist was supposed to appear from with a pencil tip, jiggling the plastic shaft that holds the filter, etc.) didn't work for others and one simply didn't work straight out of the box, no matter what we did (I believe we got a working replacement for the crap one). Mine worked excellently, pouring out a fine, cold mist for just under 3 months, and then abruptly stopped, with the cup still full of water. The replacement refill didn't start it going again and none of the previous tricks worked. After that, when plugged in, the lid would heat up scarily, though nothing else would happen. Honestly, the cup design is brilliant, but you get what you pay for (I think my office manager snagged them for about $10 each) and if you really want something that will function efficiently for a long time, this is not the product.

After reading all the reviews I was hesitant to buy this product but still decided to give it a shot.

The only positive about this product, if it would have worked, is the look of it without looking inside. I received the product, followed the very hard to understand instruction with poor grammar and spelling errors, and tried it on 3 different computers but this little cup just won't even turn on! I would have to say this company probably has zero QA process so it's kind of hit or miss, and I'm joining the zero star group.

Wish the next person buying it good luck...or just stay away from it!

I had a heating and plumbing guy come in and take a look at my furnace. He recommended replacing just the humidifier pad, an quoted me $198 to do it. I thought I'd poke around and see how much one of these bad boys cost a la carte. Not very much, it turns out. I think I saw this for $10 or $20 all by itself, but then noticed this whole maintenance kit for about $40 after shipping. Aprilaire's official website had it for sale, too, but for a higher price. I compared the two items and it appears that this kit has the same stuff as the one sold on the Aprilaire site. Either way, when I got the humidifier pad, it came with Aprilaire branded packaging. The other items were more or less loose in the box, but they were all the right parts. As I was replacing the humidifier pad (a $200 job, per the heating guy), I could easily see where the other parts fit into the assembly. I used all the parts in the kit except one. It took me about an hour. The kit came with the same instruction booklet that you can find as a PDF online, which was very handy.

I'll probably buy more of these and do this once a year. Maybe not replace all the additional parts, but at least the pad.

After using my Aprilaire 560 humidifier for over 10 years, the feed tube became brittle and had leakage problem.
