Yeah, another one of my brain storms. I have a 90 gallon Discus tank on the first floor and I can't just top off the tank with tap water b/c it's softened water. Too much sodium for fish but good enough for us????? But I digress.

I'm tired of lugging 5 gallon jugs of well water from the basement, especially when I need to replace about 7 gallons of evaporation during a dry week (I have lots of lights for plants also).

SO, I got a refrigerator water line kit with the strap valve and plastic 1/4" hose. Drilled an angled hole through the bottom of the flooring and came out the drywall under the tank and behind the stand. Ran the hose through, connected the strap valve to a 1/2" cold water line and ran the other end of the hose up under the hood where it meets this float valve. It's mounted temporarily so it looks ugly but works great. No more up the steps carrying well water.

Since the float/valve drips water in (once the final level is established) it won't stress the fish, the heaters or me.

other creative uses of float valves are encouraged....could be a blog!

Price seems high now based on needing two filters, I did use my Hepa model number, site should have defined it should have been X2 Picture of Box is misleading because its so large it appeared to be correct despite picture. I need to order the second one but have not had time to shop around.

The filter is good, but it should have instructed me that I need to purchase 2, first time I have been dissapointed by Amazon.com

prior always have been happy and I know this was a third party vender, just add the detail to the site on quantity reguired for the next person

This is the metal type mesh that the water runs down for the furnace humidifier. It installs easily and works great. It has a black paint mark on top to advise this side up when installed. Good product.

My wife and I had never changed the old pad in our whole house humidifier. I figured it was time, given the crusty accumulations on our old pad. Before we changed the pad, I have to say that the efficiency of our humidifier wasn't as good. It seemed to take days for the humidity in the house to go up when I would adjust the humidistat. After changing the old pad, the efficiency was noticeably better right away. Adjustments resulted in changes to our household humidity in less than 24 hours. If you are like me and you are wondering how much of your pad actually gets replaced, you will find that the pad in your humidifier actually has a black frame that comes apart. This is the frame that has the water line attached to it. Once you open the frame, you can discard the mesh metal pad and insert this new pad. It will fit perfectly. I'll be coming back for more of these in the future, and I would highly recommend them to anybody.

A good case, the veneers used around the edges are a bit frail so extra care need be taken not to catch the edges when handleing but it works well and has made keeping my cigars easy. I like it! Looks good too.

This filter just barely fits inside the notches of the humidifier. The original company doesn't make them any more. This is the longest filter I've found.

It does hold it's shape/stands up and seems to work like the original one did.

as described, these are well made. I did have to cut them longitudinally to fit into a smaller 1/2 inch oil lamp, and they did not fray much which is nice. they keep a nice steady flame and seem like they will last years.
