This bulb arrived broken. Considering how much it cost you would think a bit more care could have been taken with it. If I do not receive a replacement bulb that works I will never order from this company again.
The company is reshipping another bulb free of charge.
I will update my review upon receiving a working bulb.
Unbelievable.
The replacement bulb was also broken.
NEVER ORDERING FROM AGAIN.It must be good; it's still working. Not to expensive and I only plan on useing it for the winter season.

Cheap Air-O-Swiss Healthy Humidifier Maintenance Kit
To buy these items separately would only cost $80. EzCal is $8.99, Hydro Stick is $28.99 and the demineralization refill 3-pack is 25.86.

I just did the math and it's currently cheaper to buy each of these items separately than to buy this "kit".Best Deals for Air-O-Swiss Healthy Humidifier Maintenance Kit
The maintenance kit had all the items I need to keep my humidifier going for another year or so. In that respect, the kit is good. But all the care this unit needs to operate, and the expense is more than I can do. We have hard water in our area, and this unit would probably work much better if you had a water softener.Honest reviews on Air-O-Swiss Healthy Humidifier Maintenance Kit

I like the size of this humidifier/vaporizor, but it is a little noisier than I expected. I could not find the filters instore anywhere, which was very annoying but I think I saw them at WalMart recently. We run the vaporizor almost 24 hrs a day since our baby girl was born 2.5 yrs ago and I have used 4 filters. It's good for white noise too. Just remember to run it dry each time to make the filter last longer and prevent mildew from growing in the container.

Amazon was one of the only places we could find these filters after purchasing the humidifier. They seem to be fine. Over all the whole system works fine. I feel like the filters get gunky more quickly than I would prefer but I have no basis for comparison. The ease of buying them from Amazon beats spending an afternoon calling around and shopping for them all over town.Best Deals for Hamilton Beach Blue Humidifier Replacement Filter
I have used replacement filters for my small humidifier that were not True Air brand ones and they did not work as long nor as effectively as these. They are worth a bit more money to get these for the True Air humidifier, in my opinion. They do not get as "grungy" as fast as the generic ones I have purchased in the past.Honest reviews on Hamilton Beach Blue Humidifier Replacement Filter
Had a humidifier sitting around without a filter for a long time. Found the right filter on Amazon very cheap and was delivered very quick (very pleased with Amazon shipping in general, for this and all of my prior purchases). The filter fits well and my humidifier is back in service now. Not much else to say it's just a filter -it fits, it works, and it was cheap.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Hamilton Beach Blue Humidifier Replacement Filter
This was a nice filter, but expensive for something that will only last less than a month.Friday, July 18, 2014
Vogelzang CDS-01 Chicken Steamer Review
I bought this for a friend who loves old-fashioned home accessories and also roosters. It couldn't have been a better choice, and she gets lots of use from it in the winter. This low-tech humidifier looks great on the woodstove, and there is no worry about it breaking down. I'm sure it will outlast us all. Use it for potpourri or just add clear water for humidity. Two. Two. Two products in one!

This isn't nearly as nice as I thought it would be. It looks great in the photo. It's pieced together awkwardly in a visually unappealing way. It's smaller than you think it's going to be. It's really not worth the price -even without the ridiculous shipping fee.Best Deals for Vogelzang CDS-01 Chicken Steamer
This item was not made quite as well as I expected, but it doesn't look bad, and it is functional for my intended purpose (filled with water and placed on top of our fireplace heater, it keeps our home's air from drying out too much).Honest reviews on Vogelzang CDS-01 Chicken Steamer

Cheap Lasko 7050 Misto Outdoor Misting Fan

List Price: $178.99

Picked up one of these Lasko Misters for a Memorial Day Barbeque we were hosting when the temperatures were supposed to be in the 90's and there was a "Heat Warning" for our area. I HATE hot weather and spend most of my Summers indoors with the A/C on.
We set up the Lasko Misting Fan as we were getting ready for our guests. The mist definitely made me feel cooler... but I did notice the deck was getting quite wet near the unit. We tried adjusting everything the tilt of the fan, the level of spray (3 levels) and the amount that our hose was turned on. Nothing seemed to keep the deck from periodically getting wet sun and wind would temporarily let things dry up but it kept puddling. So we set it up just off our deck on a ladder that way most of the 'excess' water fell on the bushes along the deck, and only a light spray got to the deck and the things and people on the deck. The oscillating fan is OK but not really noticeable. I would definitely recommend putting the unit up off the ground.
I did note, about 6 hours after we turned it on, that a table about 10 feet away from the unit with a vinyl tablecloth was quite WET! It had to be wiped really well with towels before we could use it for a card game. However, 6 hours of misting .... it's not surprising at all that it was wet.
Most of our guests were a good 20 feet from the unit and definitely felt the mist (and commented on it in a positive way.)
After dark we turned it off, and as we were cleaning up several of us noted that we really felt the difference. I don't know what this will do to our water bill, but it was nice to have it hooked up to a hose and not have to fill a storage tank constantly throughout the day.
As long as this unit continues to work after this initial outing, I will definitely consider it money well spent. ~$150 was kind of steep but literally our health was at stake today. A trip to the ER for heat stroke could easily cost more than that.
First, he unit is very compact, which is important for me as this is probably only going to get 10 days of use a year and I don't have a lot of room for storage. It's also pretty light, which makes it easy to move around as needed. The mister comes with everything you need to put it in to immediate operation, which is pretty much just a power cord and small hose for hooking up the water. Both are pretty short though, so if you plan on operating this at some distance from the house, you'll need an additional garden hose and extension cord.
Once it's hooked up, operation couldn't be simpler. There are three settings for fan speed on the unit, as well as a button to control oscillation. Water volume is not controlled from the unit, however, but from the spigot if you want less flow, you have to turn down the water. There is a valve on the included hose to reduce the flow just for the mister though, so if you've got several things hooked up at the spigot you can control the flow to the mister independently. Unlike other reviewers, I didn't have a problem with the amount of oscillation; it's not the same level as say a standing fan with a full 180 arc, but it does the job fine with probably a 90 degree arc. The main body of the mister also pivots up and down, allowing for a flat trajectory or practically straight up, if you want. The flexibility of the design allows it to be "dialed in" to just the right settings for whatever conditions you find yourself in, whether that's more or less wind, larger or smaller areas, etc. Also, it's worth noting that the unit makes very little noise I would say even at full power it's barely audible. This is nice because it doesn't disturb the tranquility of the outdoor space that one is trying to enjoy.
The effective range of this device is probably about 15-20 feet, or maybe a little more with a tailwind. In that zone (at full power) you will get pretty well misted and, depending on weather conditions, even a little wet. Beyond that range, it's hard to say how much effect this has; in some conditions, such as a backyard with very little breeze, it may reduce the temperature of the area a few degrees and take the edge off the heat. In an exposed area with a stronger breeze, it's probably not going to actually cool beyond that range you just can't fight Mother Nature.
Overall I'm pretty happy with the mister so far it does the job covering about half or more of my 500 sq ft patio, and makes it possible to enjoy the outdoors even as the temperature climbs above 90. And even if I use it just a few weekends out of the year, that's worth it for me.

Love this fan!!! Great even without the mist. Powerful, quite, durable. It has been on my patio for almost two years now enduring the elements 24/7. After reading reviews i decided to give it a try. I live in Florida and have a court yard pool that gets very hot in the summer. The pool deck is approx. 20 by 35. this fan makes it feel about 10 degrees cooler. I put the fan on a small table and it does make the deck wet in front of the fan. but with the humidity at 90% what do you expect. It is a great fan and very quit at high speed. You will be happy with this fan especially in a climate with lower humidity.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Lasko 7050 Misto Outdoor Misting Fan
While trying to figure out how to cool my patio in the summer heat, I looked at several kinds of misters and even bought a tube system that proved somewhat effective but difficult to set up. I wanted something simpler, but a standing fan looked like it would take up too much space, so instead I opted to try this Lasko floor mister, and I've been pretty happy so far.First, he unit is very compact, which is important for me as this is probably only going to get 10 days of use a year and I don't have a lot of room for storage. I bought this because it was cheap and I was using a borrowed one at the office (where the a/c blasts whether we need it or not). I got it yesterday and it kicks the big green Black and Decker I was using's butt. With the other one I had to keep it on the highest settings. This one is smaller and it can either be upright or laying down. I keep it laying down (seems more stable that way). I run it at the low power setting and at medium heat setting and it warms up better than the other one did. I JUST READ OTHER REVIEWS ELSEWHERE THAT IT CAN BREAK AFTER A FEW WEEKS. So remember when you read this review that I've only had it for a day and a half. I'm loving it but I'm cautious about buying one for home. I'll wait and see how this one stands the test of time.

I got this heater second hand from a thrift store about a year and a half ago and it has outlived two similar yet more expensive heaters that I purchased brand new. The thermostat works great so makes it a good option for a bedroom. Its very lightweight but the housing is sturdy. Ours has been knocked around quite a bit during our move, being dragged between rooms, not to mention the abuse it probably sustained while at the thrift store. I highly recommend this heater and will likely buy another.Best Deals for Floor 2-Setting Heater

I've had this heater for at least 5 years and last week it finally died on me. Needless to say,I'm buying another one. I recommend this heater for home, as well as, office. I initally used it in the office then took it home during the winter months to try it out and hopefully cut down on some of my heating costs. I NEVER took it back to the office! It works well on those nights when it's not bitter cold and you just want some heat to be cozy underneath a blanket. I always say, if something works, stick with it.Saturday, March 8, 2014
Best Skuttle 000-1317-091 Wick For 2000,2001 & 2002 Deals
Not a lot I can say except it's exactly as the original wick and that's a good thing. I think there was a minor mixup with the order because the wicks (ordered two) were originally on back order then arrived in two separate shipments of boxes that were much larger than necessary. Both could have easily fit into a regular business envelope. No complaints at all about the product.

Enviracaire Replacement Humidifier Pad Review
These mineral absorbtion pads really work. Our area in west Texas has water that is very heavy with minerals. These pads really help remove the mineral by absorbing particulates before they stick to the hot surface in the humidifier. Without the pads, we would have to clean the humidifier much more often and it would be more difficult.

I'm not for certain on this but I believe amazon used to couple the incorrect filters with the Vicks UV 99.999% Germ Free Humidifier (whatever they were.. they were too big). I finally came around these filters which fit great. Only thing a little offsetting about this product is that they don't arrive bright white (like you see in the image). On receipt the humidifier was missing the magnet. An email to the distributor resolved it, and I received a replacement at no charge within the week.
I live in a dry climate, and have found that it requires supplemental humidification to keep it at the correct level. In addition, the adhesive on both the hygrometer and the humidifier puck have failed. Any given time I open the lid, it's quite likely one or both have fallen off and into the cigars on the tray below.
Overall, if it had a larger humidifier unit and reliable adhesive, I'd give it 5 stars as the box is beautifully made.
