The short cartridge is slightly shorter than what my Cigar Oasis came with. But it actually fits better in my humidor and seems to last just as long. I love the Cigar Oasis and this replacement cartridge just allows me a love it longer. It's well worth the price.

This works super! All Xikar products do. It is actually a little too big for my humidor, so I take it out for a day just to keep the humidity at a constant level and not too high. This is really meant for a BIG humidor.

Replaced my humidifiers with these things. Paid $$. They are supposed to keep humidity @ a constant 70 %. I use Xikar digital hydrometers which have been Calibrated using the salt/water/plastic bag method. NEITHER of my 250 humidifiers are maintaining a constant 70 % RH. Mostly they fluctuate between 65% and 68%....... BUT never 70%. They look pretty, appear to be well made but don't do what they say they will do. Going back to my original humidifiers made with flower pot foam..they keep a constant 72% and didn't cost me $42 bucks ( for 2) because I FELL FOR the HYPE. Don't be fooled like I was..save your money!

This a very nice gel bead humidifier. I have a 300 cigar humidor and bought 2 of these to replace the foam humidifiers that came with it. It keeps it at about 75% which is a bit too much, so I may take one out and see what happens. I used distilled water to fill based on what I read on many message boards. I will likely use the PG solution occasionally as well. I just have 2 minor complaints:

1) Filling instructions: The instructions say to pour the solution into the humidifier grates. I would also recommend shaking the beads to evenly distribute them in the humidifier. Maybe this should be common sense, but I did not do this. I figured they would distribute themselves when they expanded. They did to an extent, but I still have a big clump of beads on one end. Not too big of a deal, I guess.

2) Thickness. These are about 1/8" thicker than my old foam ones. Plus, the magnetic contact sticks on the back with foam tape whereas my old humidifiers had recessed contacts. These end up being 7/8" with the metal contact. I had to re-arrange the top tray of my cigars to avoid the humidifiers directly pressing into my cigars. Not ideal by any means. Would love to see this a bit thinner or with a recessed metal contact.

These are the old fashioned charcoal filled filters. They are no longer sold by us so I expect they are no longer made. The new filters are this thin fibrousy stuff, like some of the prefilters they use in the HEPA air purifiers. When I can no longer get the older charcoal filled filters, I will stop using the purifiers and just toss them out.
