I use mine for humidification purposes only. It sits on an out of the way place in my bedroom. I run it at max speed and usually change the tanks every day and a half. I have no problem filling the two tanks, even though I have arthritis in my fingers. Since I don't clean the unit until the tanks are empty, I have no problem with lifting the entire unit when it comes time to clean. The only thing that would have made this product better would be one that needed to be cleaned less often. The cleaning issue applies to all humidifiers, so this is just ordinary maintenance.Best Deals for 2.0G UV GermFree Humidifier
They must have had a contest at Vicks to see who could design a humidifier that would frustrate consumers the most. And this one was the winner. It has several hidden areas that contain water, most of which are impossible to dry, drain, and clean. The thing is huge, heavy, and nearly impossible to get a grip on. If you thought you were going to keep this on a night table, I hope you have a table the size of a coffee table. We ended up keeping it on the floor and tripping over it.
I'd purchased this to replace one of those dinky little old-fashioned plastic humidifiers -you know, a tank with a little top with a vent. Mine was about 10 years old, and looking shabby. What a mistake! The little one did a much better job of providing steam, and was a breeze to refill and clean.
Bottom line: A waste of $100. Go to the drugstore, buy a $15 plastic one, and replace it in a year or two if it looks shabby.
