Although the component is exactly what's needed to repair an outdated, non-functional Aprilaire humidifier, and it fits perfectly into the existing space without needing to be modified in any way, it is ridiculously overpriced. For your money, you get the two-piece, snap-together plastic pump housing, a replacement plastic pump impeller, a plastic spacer, and a thin metal washer. All told, these pieces contain possibly a dollar's worth of materials. Although no instructions are supplied with the parts, they are easy to assemble into the existing humidifier. But, as with all special-purpose replacement mechanical components, you can't grab them at the local hardware store: the supply is low, so the price is high. I would suggest to anyone that needs this part to consider replacing the entire humidifer instead.
