The DDR5011 unit Does Not have a remote control, and this is the less expensive unit Allergy Be Gone sells on Ebay for $159.00.
I called ABG and they told me that they don't stock their advertised unit, (the one on they're web page) What?? So they just "substituted" the DDR5011, and said that this one was just the same..... Until I asked about the more extensive electronics, the Remote Control.
They couldn't get me a Return Authorization # fast enough.
Sending it back today.
I don't like it when someone attempts to cheat me.

We bought this Danby # 5009 in April 2011. We've had it for one month, so this is a review when the product is new. Quiet just normal fan noise. I hooked the drain hose to it, put it in the basement corner, set it at 40% humidity, and walked away. It's about as quiet as a machine with a blower fan can be as quiet as the pedestal fan we have closer to the steps I have to go down and walk toward the unit before I can hear the fan on low speed, and get next to it to hear the hum of the condensor system. The included drain hose is ribbed I would prefer a smooth hose. The fan runs all the time to circulate air, but this is balanced by the Energy Star rating.Beware which third party you deal with on Amazon. Be sure they will actually send what you ordered, and check their policy on order problems and return charges before you order.
January 2013 No increase in noise. I haven't touched it since I installed it with the drain hose.

This seems like a reasonable unit, but I bought it primarily for the low-noise and power saving claims, but I find that the fan runs continuously, meaning continuous noise and power usage.Several other Units I have had in this usage run 1-2 hours/day, so are significantly better.
I liked its adjustable hygrometer (30-90%), but am returning it for a unit with auto-shut-off.
