We added this Pack 'N Play to our baby registry since the features looked like they would be useful. This is the first Pack 'N Play that I have owned so I wasn't sure what to expect. The directions were fairly simple to follow and only minimal assembly was required for the bassinet support, reversible station, and toy arch.

I really like the feel and support of the bassinet. The metal tubing keeps the mattress pretty level and my son seems to be very comfortable sleeping and playing on the mattress.

The reversible station is a nice added feature to this version. The napper on one side is slightly sloped and the changing pad on the other is flat with a plastic surface. It is simple to flip with one hand and very convenient to have both readily available. It is nice that the napper is secured on the ends rather than on one side as it is on other models. I feel that this makes it more stable and level. On the down side, it is surface clean only so you can't just throw it into the wash. It is also rather difficult to remove without completely removing the bassinet. Since it also doesn't fit in the travel bag, it's probably something that we'll use only while at home. I agree with another reviewer that the low height of the changing pad reduces its functionality. It hasn't replaced our nursery changing station, but rather provided us with another place change our baby.

Overall, I really like this version of the Pack 'N Play. The usefulness and convenience of a reversible station far outweigh any problems I've had with it. My son sleeps in it almost every day and I would highly recommend it.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program As a mom of three children, I have had plenty of experience with playards over the past ten and a half years. This Graco Pack N Play with reversible napper/changer is nice, but I know Graco could make it better. The pack and play is not too much different from the current basic model they have. I have the very basic model that features the bassinet and useless toy arch, and this newer napper/changer model. There are a few differences between the models to make up for the $30 price difference.

The basic model will get you folding feet/wheels which allow the playard to fold up into a bag that is roughly six inches more compact than the napper/changer model. It has the same size mattress, and ease of set up. The bassinet has poorer mattress support which will allow the mattress to sag and be uneven. This is because the metal cross supports that run across the bottom of the bassinet insert do not run the length of the playard. The seams of the corners of the playard are also visible from the inside.

For a slightly higher price tag, the reversible napper/changer model will get you a more thoughtfully designed bassinet feature. The bassinet has metal tubing that runs the full length of the bottom of the bassinet providing better support for the mattress. Unfortunately my four month old daughter is above the bassinet weight limit, so I was unable to test how well the mattress held up with my baby sleeping in it. I can tell you that it was sturdier feeling when I pressed down on it with my hands. Per the owner's manual for this playard, the changer/napper feature has a 15lb weight limit. Graco's online product manual incorrectly states a different weight limit for the changer which is also quoted in another review. The changer/napper feature is nice, but I was surprised to see that it is surface wash only. Babies spit up and sometimes have leaky diapers. If an accident occurs while your baby is sleeping in the cozy napper, you'll only be able to surface wash the material. Seasoned moms will tell you that sometimes surface washing just won't cut it for some messes. Upon further reading of the owner's manual, I found it odd that you cannot use the bassinet feature while the napper/changer is installed. Since removing the napper/changer is impossible without taking off the bassinet to release the napper/changer bracket, I find this highly impractical. It would have been nice if the changer could be used for a higher weight baby. Ten years ago Graco made an awesome folding changing table that held babies up to 25lbs that could easily be popped on and off the playard. Surely their engineers can find a better way to incorporate this feature so moms of babies heavier than 15 lbs can conveniently change their baby at the playard.

One of the nicest touches on this playard when compared to the basic model are the corners that hold the playard mattress down. It's a nice little added security in addition to the velcro straps that hold the mattress down to the bottom. This particular model also does not leave the seams at the corners exposed to the baby.

Total set up time for this playard with the bassinet and napper/changer is about 20 minutes for a seasoned parent. I suspect it will take longer for first time parents who don't already know how to set up the playard. Setting up just the playard alone without the bassinet and napper/changer can be done in about 3 minutes.

Overall, this playard is very nice. I know I would have loved the changing pad feature when my daughter was a newborn. When compared to the basic model, this one is nicer, but the looming question is whether or not it's worth spending an extra $30 or so for features that you'll only get to use for about three or four months before your baby outgrows it.

I love this playard. My son is almost a month old and has been sleeping in it since we brought him home from the hospital. He has slept in both the napper and the bassinet part and seems comfortable in both. The changing table has come in handy in the middle of the night when we've wanted to change his diaper without going very far. As much as I like this playard, there are two big flaws worth mentioning:

(1) You cannot remove the napper/changing table without taking apart the whole pack n play which is not convenient if you want your child to sleep in the bassinet part but also want access to the changing table.

(2) The fabric on the napper is spot clean only, which is not practical if you have a newborn who spits up and occasionally pees past the diaper (we still haven't figured out how he does this, but it seems to happen about once a day). To remedy this issue, I bought several flannel bassinet pads on Etsy from the "BabyWolfgang" shop. The fabric is soft so my son sleeps comfortably on them and when they get dirty, I stick them in the washing machine/dryer. They hold up well after many washings and are a good solution to issue #2. (Added bonus: I use them to protect my stroller bassinet because they are easier to wash than taking off the bassinet fabric to wash it and then reattaching it.)

I also recommend using a waterproof pad under the pack n play sheet to protect the mattress. I got the American Baby Company Waterproof Porta-Crib Sheeting Pad and it fits perfectly. If you want a super-soft matching sheet, I recommend the American Baby Company Heavenly Soft Chenille Porta-Crib Sheet in Celery. I also like the American Baby Company Organic Interlock Pack N Play Sheet. (I bought all three of these products on Amazon.)

Some customer reviews mention purchasing an additional mattress to put over the pack n play mattress. I don't think this is necessary and it is possibly unsafe. The mattress that comes with the pack n play is all the baby needs and is ideal in terms of firmness/thickness. Overall this is a very good product.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This is the second Pack 'N Play I have gotten from Graco. It couldn't be any easier to set up. Just pull it out of the box and push down to snap into place. The mattress fits and snaps snugly in the corners. The bassinet clips onto the top. The changer/napper also basically snaps on the top rails. The instruction booklet has step by step instructions if you need help. Having set one up before, I did not need it.

My previous Pack N Play had the bassinet feature, so I put a changing pad down and had been using that as a changing station. Now with this version, they have added the changer/napper. You can use this feature until the baby is 3 months old or 15 lbs. It is very convenient! I keep this downstairs and set out diapers and wipes on the bassinet, or nearby. When the baby wakes, you can just flip the napper over and use the flatter side to change. The napper is cushioned and fleecey. The changer is lined with waterproof material. Be sure to get a sheet for the bottom mattress pad, because it can feel cold without one.

It is also very easy to disassemble. Remove the mattress and pull up on the handle. You may have to fiddle with the rails to get them undone. The mattress pad wraps around the unit and velcros together. It fits nicely into the bag that comes with. The napper/changer does not fit into the bag, so you have to bring that along separately.

I like the colors on this playard. They are gender neutral and look nice in any color room of the house. The wheels make it easy to move from room to room. I have no problems or complaints about this product.

First, I just have to say we love this thing. Yes, it's probably a huge overreaction to a fairly simple product, but that's pretty much what we love about it: it's simple. When we were first shopping for baby things (this is our first child), it seemed so overwhelming, not to mention expensive. Basinets, playpens, play yards, cribs, etc. etc. So, we narrowed down what we actually needed: a place for the baby to sleep while he was still in our room that was either cheap or something that we could use for a long time. Et voila!

A place for the baby to sleep: We used the napper as a basinet in our bedroom, which ended up being perfect; It's rated up to 3 months and a certain weight/length, and right as our boy was meeting those restrictions, we/he was ready to be in the crib.

Something we use for a long time: We took the napper off and now it's just a handy pack n' play! He's just starting to scoot a little, so we've taken this to friends' houses, outside, etc. really anywhere that isn't baby-proofed and it's perfect for hotel stays (not to be alarmist, but who knows where the pack n' play/cribs in hotel rooms come from?!?).

Isn't too expensive: There are a lot of play yards out there that are basically a nursery, complete with a vibrating napper, and a 200 sq ft organizer (sorry for the hyperbole, but *seriously* some of them get ridiculous!).... The baby already has/had a nursery, so I didn't see the point of something that involved. I ended up taking some of the baskets I bought to organize the nursery drawers, and put them in the basinet to organize diapers, wipes, clothes, etc.

A couple of very minor fyis:

-The napper cover isn't removable, so you can't just toss it in the wash. I ended up putting a waterproof liner on top of it, which I'm pretty sure I would have done anyway.

The "basinet" that Graco refers to is different than the "napper." The napper is the part that the baby cuddles into and reverses to the changing pad. The basinet is the feature that raises the bottom of the playpen it's a separate grid of poles that suspends the normal bottom of the play pen to a more reach-able level. We kept the floor in the basinet position so that the baskets of clothes, etc that I mentioned were easily accessible. At 8 months pregnant, this was fairly confusing.

The fabric on the floor of the play pen shows watermarks... pretty noticeably. But, when we are putting the baby in the actual playpen, rather than the napper, we always use a sheet anyway.

Here's the deal: I would have thought $100 was a reasonable amount to spend on something that we would use an insane amount for the first three months.... the bonus that now we have something that we can use pretty much indefinitely?? Amazing.

Bottom line: this is one of the things that I am so glad that we decided to save some money on. It has every necessary feature (the changing table was seriously a stroke of genius), is very reasonably priced, and isn't overly complicated.

My previous rental house in the rainy Pacific Northwest had a dehumidifier in the basement that kept it toasty dry so I was sold on the concept.

So I bought the Santa Fe Compact 2 for my new house running for around 2 months now.

Regarding function: It totally dried out the 800 sq ft basement. Before humidity was around 68%, the dirt in the crawlspaces was saturated, and there were beads of water under the plastic sheeting laid over the soil. Now the dehumidifer is holding the humidity down at 49% and the soil in the crawlspaces is dry. It's probably keeping moisture down overall in the house as the furnace exchanges air between the basement and the other floors, however, I haven't done any objective testing to see if this is true.

Regarding installation: I purchased the Santa Fe ceiling suspension kit and have the unit hanging from the basement ceiling joists. This works well at stopping any vibration. I can't normally hear it from the main floor although obviously your mileage may vary depending on the flooring material in your house. On a really quiet night I might hear it switch on and off, however, it's actually quieter than my 16-year-old furnace and the furnace condensate pump.

I ran the supplied condensate hose down to the furnace condensate pump. I needed to buy a $1 hose clamp (from the 'Orange Store') to properly secure the hose to the dehumidifier. It would have been nice if Sante Fe had included that. It's important to make sure that the hose immediately slopes away so water does not build up around the outlet, and also to make sure that the unit is level. At first I must have had some water flow back into the unit because it dripped out the bottom of the unit casing after an hour. Once I corrected the hose and leveled the unit everything was fine.

Regarding appearance: Overall the unit has a sturdy feel. I wouldn't describe it as beautiful appliance however it is definitely solidly engineered which I think is appropriate for basement equipment. It's presently listed under "Kitchen" on Amazon (which they might adjust at some point) however I would not put it in a kitchen or anywhere in a finished part of the house; there are other more appliance-looking dehumidiers that would be more appropraite for those locations.

I purchased this (not from Amazon) and I will tell you this thing really works. Previously, I owned an LG which was the absolute nosiest piece of junk I have ever purchased. I have a finished basement in a suburb of Philadelphia. I don;t have a huge problem with moisture, but I do have my fair share. My LG would work so hard to remove the little moisture that I had.

I found this unit and spoke to a distributor about why these were so much money! I thought that a $250 dehumidifier was sufficient for my basement, but the truth is that these cheap models just end up running up your electric bill, aren't really that great at dehumidifying, and break relatively quickly. If you get a few years, you're lucky.

I was tired of re-buying an appliance every few years, and I am a big believer in "you get what you pay for" so I decided to try this beast out. I was able to score this unit for $999 with Free Shipping from a distributor. I don't think they are allowed to advertise it lower than the MSRP but they gave me a great price considering they routinely sell for between $1100-$1200 pretty much everywhere you look.

After it was delivered I couldn't wait to get it hooked up. I have it sitting on a table and have the drain hose run into my condensate pump for my house heater/ac. These models do not have buckets to dump. They are so efficient and dehumidify so fast and so well, that it would fill up the bucket possibly every couple of hours.

The musty smell in my basement is now gone and the thing hardly ever runs. Initially, it did seem to run a bit in order to extract all of the excess moisture in the air, but now I rarely hear it turn on (more so in the summer than winter).

I definitely recommend you buy one of these models. I fully expect this to be the last dehumidifier I ever have to buy.

After reading many review it was hands down for this product. I am loving it! My previous unit was loudness and used a lot of electricity. The Santa Fe compact is very quite and I saw a reduction in my utility bill around $8 bucks. I opt not to buy the duct system, because I could not see an actual picture of what I was ordering. So I when to the one depot and made a purchase of some ducting material and made it myself. The unit Is located in the builder room and I put in a vent in the main area. So all you see is a vent and may hear the unit come on from time to time. When it does run it unit for a few second not even a minute. I have had the unit for about 8 weeks now. The basement which is completed was very cold and you could feel the moisture in the air and on you when you walked down there. During the summer months The temperature was around 75 80 with that heavy moist air feel. Now My basement does not have that nasty feel in the air. The air is dry and the temperature is very comfortable. We now use the basement again about 95% of the time and enjoy it. Lastly there is no small there anymore.

The water storage tank of this machine broke from its base when cleaning it. I also felt it did not disperse the scent if the essential oil that well. I am going to attempt to return the machine for a replacement. I can only hope I received a defective machine and they will replace it.

I recently got this humidifier a few weeks ago. The humidity setting work awesome. At the maximum humidity setting there is so much mist coming out that it looks like its making a cloud in my kitchen. And it does every setting down to barely running, not just a few settings. The mood light works decent in the day and great in the darker light. We use essential oils with this humidifier and it disperses it very well. Yes, the handle does mean the resevoir will not sit flat while you fill it. Honestly, this has been ZERO issue for me. It is easy to fill and easy to carry and set into it's base with the built in handle.

More importantly, this machine does a tremendous job creating humidity. It will indeed go through three gallons of water in a 24 hour period on the high setting.

The various fan speeds and automatic humidity level are great features in a $50 humidifier. Can't go wrong at this price IMO.

Although it was somewhat difficult to fill as the other reviewers have mentioned, that really didn't bother me. I had more of an issue with the bottle that the anti-bacterial liquid came in, which I found was nearly impossible to add to the water tank without getting it on my hands and you are supposed to avoid contact with skin. My sister has the same unit and poured the liquid into a pump bottle which worked much better.

Unfortunately, I never got to try that because by the time she gave me the helpful hint, my unit had quit working. I got it for Christmas and it lasted the rest of that winter plus half of the next winter for a total of about 13 months, only 5 months of which it was actually in use.

The unit still turns on but the fan will not run, making it worthless.

I bought this humidifier and realized very quickly that it was going to be extremely difficult to fill the water tank. As others have mentioned, the top has a spoon shape that acts as a carry handle, but when you turn the tank upside down to fill it, you can't rest it on it's top! Holding the tank while filling it is awkward much less trying to hold it with one hand while screwing the fill cap on. This would be a nightmare for anyone that lacks upper body strength. Operationally the unit seems to run okay. I wish I would have bought one of the tower models instead.

We have used this model for the last 3 winters. It makes a very handy bedroom unit to compliment a console unit we run elsewhere. It runs fairly quietly and the controls seem to work properly. We usually dial up the setting to run continuously overnight. The LED, however, is way too bright and needs to be covered, unless you want the nightlight.

Filling the reservoir is a piece of cake. The top rests in the drain of my kitchen sink while the bottom rests against the side of the sink for hands-free filling. I'm betting this unit is good for several more winters, or until dust finally claims the fan motor.

I have used this unit lightly for two years and it just went dead. No power reading, fan doesn't run. Before this I found it a bit awkward to fill the tank and placing it back in the unit. This might be a bigger deal for older people or those with gripping issues with their hands. My biggest issue is that there is no trouble shoot for this issue. I am not going to simply guess on what part to order. I will just order a unit from a different manufacturer.

This is a "no frills," solid piece for those looking for a furniture style humidor for storing boxes that looks nice but doesn't cost a fortune. The vented drawer is a nice feature, and removable shelves are adjustable and solid.

A couple of important things to be aware of with this item are...

1. The way the outlet is situated in the back causes the shelf to extend slightly too far so that the door will not shut completely, and of course also blocks the outlet. This is easily remedied by simply placing the shelf either above or below the outlet, however it is a limitation to be aware of. The way the shelf is situated in the picture will probably not work for you.

2. Also concerning the outlet, there is a frame around it that unfortunately does not provide an air tight seal but DOES however make accommodating most ac adapters impossible. Anything larger than the width of the outlet will not be able to be inserted completely without a secondary adapter or extension cord, so if you're using a "cigar oasis" style humidifier that is not battery operated you'll have to either use a secondary adapter with your ac adapter, OR use the ribbon cord and simply take the outlet out of the equation. (Using the ribbon cord was my solution, since there is plenty of room to run the ribbon cord through the gap between the outlet and the surrounding wood frame, so I'm not using the outlet at all, but I am saving quite a bit of room by not having an ac adapter inside the humidor.)

3. The seal is extremely poor. It is basically no more air tight than any normal cabinet. (Why there is a label inside the door that indicates "Sure Seal Technology" is beyond me, because I'm absolutely sure there is no seal whatsoever.) In addition, as previously stated, there is a significant gap surrounding the outlet creating leakage there as well. As annoying as this issue is when buying a humidor (which if nothing else is supposed to be air tight for God's sake!), it is easily remedied with the use of weather stripping that can be purchased at any hardware store. I used the thinnest I could find (1/8" rubber) and ran it along the inside of the drawer and cabinet door leaving the magnets exposed. The drawer still clicks into place and the cabinet door still locks easily, but any more than 1/8" will be too thick. To seal the outlet, I used a plastic foam outlet sealer (again, available at any hardware store) which is admittedly a bit of a hodge podge fix, given how the outlet is set up, but it works fine and is forgiving enough to allow me to run the ribbon cord through the gap without creating leakage. There are certainly cleaner ways to seal the outlet for the perfectionists out there, but I'll leave that to you.

Ultimately, I'm very satisfied with this purchase, even with the extra work it took to make it functional. End table humidors are typically extremely expensive. (Make sure to check out cheaphumidors.com) This is the most reasonably priced humidor I've found, it looks nice (even if it's not a show piece), and it does the job. Once it's set up, sealed and humidified, allow about two weeks for it to "season" and stabilize before loading it up with your stock.

This is the filter from the humidifier manufacturer, not one of those phony so called oem filters that are poor substitutes for the real thing. This filter lasts a few years, which is much more than the off brand replacements. And the price is great!

The Bemis/Essick H12 is one of the few humidifiers out there capable of helping in anything other than a closed, small room. I've been using mine for over 5 years now with no problems, although I have a second one that requires I crank the knob almost all the way up to get a normal setting.

That said, the filters I've gotten have usually lasted about half the winter, which in our climate means that I use two a year.

However, now I've gotten a water softener, and as promised by the softener companies, I can just clean off the filter once and it goes the whole winter.

I also use a bateriostat and occasionally a water treatment, both readily available for humidifiers of this evaporative type.

Honest reviews on Essick Air 1045 Replacement Console Wick

It's very difficult to find accurate information about wick replacement with the humidifier I bought here on Amazon. This goes for both the instruction manual, which is vague, and the Essick website. I should add that I found no helpful information on Amazon as well since wick 1041's product description states, "Replacement superwick for 400, 500, 600, ED-11 series" and wick 1045's product description states, "Replacement superwick for H12 series." You may note from the review title that I have a Essick Air H12-400HB 3-Speed Whole House Evaporative Console Humidifier, Oak Burl. So, from the product descriptions, both work. From the reviews, which are usually very helpful, no one has pointed out which one is correct.

If you have the same humidifier as me, you may be thinking, "Can't you tell from the wick images on Amazon?" Not really. If there were only two wicks and it was process of elimination, I'd know 1041 was most likely incorrect as it doesn't have the little bobber clip at the top (the thing that shuts the unit off when water is too low). But, the image here also isn't very clear. That may be it up at the top, and it may not. I can confirm after speaking with customer service that this one is the correct one for the H12-400HB whole house humidifier because it does indeed have that plastic piece that extends from the top of the wick to hold the bobber in place.

I hope this helps other folks out so they don't have to do the legwork that I did just to find a replacement wick! I've attached a customer image of the packaging this came in for visual reference.

I don't know what has happened to their wicks, I have used them for years and each winter season I would just have to replace them once. This year every 3 weeks I have to put a new one in because they stop absorbing the water and become hard as a board.
