I received the humidor today and looked it over. It is well made and they used quality wood that has a nice finish to it. The fit is just right and the seal is tight. It doesn't have a lock to keep out the curious but with the glass top that's ok. The instructions to care for the humidor are concise and well worded. It comes with everything you need to get started except the distilled water and that's easy enough to get at the grocery store. The case even comes with a brass plate that you can have engraved. I would recommend this humidor to anyone as an entry level to medium cigar affectionado. Great bang for the buck!

Pleasing to the eye, well constructed and real cedar are things brought to mind when I opened the shipping box.The gold tone corners, tempered beveled glass top and external hygrometer are nice touches.
Even the wife said "Wow!"
Instructions for seasoning and care are included. Interior dimensions are 9 1/4" x 7 1/2" with a moveable cedar divider.
All in all, a good value cigar box for your back porch or den.

The humidor is entirely functional and really looks very good, it's much better looking in person than in the crummy Amazon photo (the cedar inside is a pinkish hue and the outside is a reddish cherry color). The glass top is nicely beveled, thick, closes with a satisfying thunk. The humidifier works well but, because the top is glass, you have to cut into your cigar storage space to place it away from the hygrometer.Speaking of the hygrometer, it's a cheap POS and is my only real complaint. I got lucky that mine reads exactly 5 units low because the "adjustment screw" isn't a screw at all and is completely non functional. If you get one on a good day you're golden, but if you're unlucky and get a unit that is way off there really isn't anything you can do, except buy a new hygrometer.
Honest reviews on The Elegant 25-50 Cigar Glass Top Humidor
As a fairly new cigar enthusiast, I was looking for an inexpensive but effective way to store my cigars. Let's face it, they can be an expensive hobby and I didn't want to store them in a plastic bag or risk drying them out. The humidor itself is solid, well-designed, and the seal has a good, tight feel to it. You hear the whoosh of air when it closes and the brass latch prevents any accidental opening. The glass top is thick and gives you a nice view of the contents, and there is a nice, rich cedar smell from the interior. Brass fittings and dark wood look nice on your desk, too, and the box is deep enough to hold at least 50 cigars, depending on size. If you have cigarillos or smaller cigars, you could easily get more in there. Some reviewers complain about the hygrometer not working... mine seems to be fine after about a week. The seal is tight, and using the shot glass of water, it only took a couple of days to get the humidity up to about 72%. I haven't used the humidifier, to be honest... I just use one of the humidifying gel packs, and will probably stick with that rather than mess with charging up the humidifier. All in all, this is a great buy for a beginner. Serious cigar lovers would probably prefer a higher quality box, but if you're on a budget and want a good humidor, then go for it.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for The Elegant 25-50 Cigar Glass Top Humidor
March 7 -I'm updating my previous review after purchasing a new hygrometer which calibrated right on the money. But after installing it and using the 'seasoning' method in the instructions, I can't get the humidity to stay above 50. I eventually even tried replacing the shot glass of water with a 'steaming' bowl of water, which got the humidity up around 70 for a while but then it slowly went back down to 50 again. So for me this is a nice looking piece of junk. Assume I just got a bad one since others have found it to be just fine.==================Original Review
The humidor in my music room has glass top and hygrometer in front that can be read without opening the lid so I wanted to get a smaller version for my office. This looked to fit the bill perfectly and it really would except that the hygrometer is totally useless. After going through the calibrating routine it read 39 percent humidity instead of 70-75. So according to the instructions I'm just supposed to now add 35 or so to whatever the thing reads to get an accurate reading. Right, I'm going to do that. The little searching I've done thus far for a better hygrometer hasn't led to anything with rave reviews. I'd be willing to spend $20 if I thought it would be accurate. If you know where to get a good, accurate hygrometer for this thing, it could be a nice humidor just more expensive than what you had planned.
