This came with a 5-year warranty; we've had two and neither lasted more than 2 years. Over time it became leaky, very loud, and had ice accumulate on its exterior.

LG makes dehumidifies for other brand names, including Kenmore (sold by SEARS). There are several models of Kenmore dehumidifies (made by LG) that were recalled for frequent overheating/catching fire. My LG brand dehumidifier started overheating after about two years. Sounds like a common problem. Cheaply made, with no customer support. I don't know who is making good appliances these days, but it's not LG.

I've had two of these, one bought new,one refurbished, both working like a charm to this day, and they are the best on the market. Have had both for over 5-6 years and they really pull the moisture. I've had 4 Kenmores that had to have warranty work, then they stopped working, a new Danby that has smaller water tank, but it doesnt dry near as well as these LG's.

Sometimes can be loud, but it's from vibration of the water bucket, u just wiggle the bucket and it stops, but it is a workhorse. Hope they make these forever, decent price, long lasting, will dry up your area fast. I did need warranty work on the new one, they sent a brand new replacement and a mailing label for the other one, great company in my experience!

Worked great for a year. We loved it. Ran a hose from the unit to floor drain and sometimes it would become detached. But, that was infrequent problem. But, after a year it runs but does not remove moisture. For the price, we feel like have been screwed. Trying to deal with warranty is a joke.
