An exact OEM fit for my Aprilaire 2400 whole house filter. Installation is clumsy, but that's hardly the fault of this media. Of better quality and construction than the knock-off units available at big-box hardware stores. Completely satisfied.

This product description is misleading. Not because of the headline but where Amazon says "by Aprilaire",

This is NOT an AprilAire filter. My filter was made by Indigo and I don't feel it fit as well as an AprilAire. It seems like 1/4" too long.

I'm using it as it does work but felt it should have had a better description.

I have been using these filters for 15 years, since I replaced my furnace. I considered both the standard filter with no pleats and the electronic filter that requires cleaning with soap and water. I choose the Aprilaire and have been happy ever since. I believe it extracts more debris than the electronic unit and doesn't need changed as often as the standard non-pleated unit.

I just changed my furnace filter today after a six month heating season in upstate NY and now am ready for the six month central air cooling season.

Bottom line ... This filter is exactly the right place to be for me, so I give it a definate 5 stars.

I'm thrilled that Amazon now offers these filters. My A/C service company charges $50 for these during their annual maintenance visit. Thanks to Amazon, I now have the replacement filter waiting for them prior to the May cooling check.

I've installed this filter myself as well. It's tedious, but easy after the first time. My filter has five combs -to start, you just have to match each spike up to a pleat to properly space out the pleats of the filter. Once you do the first one, and the pleats are properly spaced, just place the second comb right next to the first one and then slide it down the filter. Repeat for the other three combs.

Fortuantely, this only has to be done once per year.

Can I buy this filter locally? Yes. Can I buy it locally at the same price (or less) than I can buy it on Amazon? Not on your life! In my area, the furnace/air conditioning firms have a monopoly on this filter, and the only way I can replace it is by placing a service call (costing way too much AND the filter is extra and $15 more expensive than online). Well, this filter is so easy to install that even I can do it and I'm unhandy and unyoung! This is a sweet bargain at Amazon!
