I got this for my husband who suffers from frequent bronchial and sinus infections.. the heating makes it harder for him to breath as his nose gets blocked.. the humidifier has helped tremendously. its fairly quiet and the water lasts for the whole night without having to be refilled, every few hours, which is a huge relief..For the price its a good product.

This humidifier is a decent price for the size, and the design isn't intrusive, boxy, or ugly. Mine came completely intact and functional. It's loud on the highest setting, but that doesn't bother me at all, considering I live next to a highway in a busy apartment building. I actually rather like the white noise. It does what I bought it to do: provide significant moisture in an large-ish open living room/office/kitchen space with no filter and germ-killing technology. I have had this for about 6 months and it's working fine. My only issue with this particular machine is that the fan blows in a weird direction, but nothing slight rotation of the humidifier doesn't fix. As a acute migraine sufferer, I sometimes am concerned I'm sensitive to the ultrasonic function (environmental/noise/barometric pressure changes are all triggers), but that's not an issue specific to this machine. As usual, with all humidifiers, it's necessary to clean it once every 1-2 weeks with a white vinegar and water solution (which is irritating, but common to all such devices).

This is great white noise, humidity, I only need to fill it every other day, and it is totally working. The light on it was very bright, but a small piece of electrical tape took care of that. I have it on for white noise, and the low setting is what we use, it isn't quiet, but for us, that is one of the points. Colorado is VERY dry, and it is really keeping our bedroom air moist at night.

on low speed fan it works VERY loudly, they need to change the fan switch to the floating resistor

Bought this to use in the bedroom, thought that by the adverstized Nighttime mode would make it a quiet unit. It's not quiet. It's really loud. In the high setting it's disturbing, in the middle setting it's annoying and in the lowest setting it's too noise to let me sleep. Won't recommend it to anyone.

Hunter did get it right in the Tower Model, less space. But that's all. Even the filter that the unit came with does not work as it does not cover the area where the air would pass through.
