It is very important to clean it frequently to keep it from getting sticky and add water less than the maximum mark 20 ml for best mist ！

I just bought three of these (2 are gifts). I added water and oil and plugged it in. It is very unfortunate that it doesn't even last 3 hours and goes through the water fast. This is on all three settings. Also when the water is half way gone it starts flickering and doesn't run. The power doesn't shut off, it just flickers and doesn't run. It also leaks condensation and water. I have to put it on a tray with a towel under it to protect my wood. I guess I expected more but it was cheap. I would have preferred to spend another $20.00 to get a better product.
